What model is it and what all have you done to get that?
-
It's A Plan that I use. I tried KM after getting a quote from A Plan and after hearing my age and the kind of car and the best quote so far he said he'd never manage to beat the quote and that was the conversation over
-
Funnily enough it's a V8i Disco I bought Was a series 1 I bought though, so no ACE for me. I am/was the same though. Put next to no mileage on the motor in a year. If we'd bought a Forester I would probably have used it more often that's all.

Yeah, the single track road we're on tends to get snow drifts of about 6ft deep a bit further up the road (half a mile at most). Luckily where we are and down to the main road it's never as deep (even if it does get deep enough to lift a std Impreza Turbo off the road completely[1]). Was looking for something that would be quite good in proper snow [1] - Got stranded a couple of years ago, was managing thru' the snow/ice no problem until I came round the corner and slid up on top of the centre of the road. There had been tractors on the road and the centre mound of ice was tall enough to hold the scoob up off the road so my wheels we spinning in mid air

TBH I did it wrong a couple of years ago. I was looking for a 4x4 and ended up buying a Disco as a winter car (had got shot of the original Scoob at that point). Looking at it now, I really should have bought a Forester instead (regardless of Turbo or std 2.0 model). Would have been a better buy.

Definitely, was in Moscow this summer and everywhere you turned there were AMG G Wagons and Brabus saloons (plus Lambos, Ferraris, Maybachs, etc). Was almost hankering after an AMG G Wagon when I came home again (easily led ). Seen more flash cars there than I've ever seen in my life before.

I'd say an Overfinch 4x4 (Disco or Rangie) is still quick enough in a straight line (I'll ignore the twisties ) As far as I remember Coverttes are pretty nippy b*ggers (which is the basic engine they use).

Anyone got any decent recommendations for winter rubber? Can't run the RE070's this winter again and they are getting close enough to need changed anyway (or before winter anyway). I've tried Michelin Pilot Alpin's on another car (same tyre size) and can't live with the sidewall flex... gives me less confidence than using the RE070's on snow or ice.

Definitely. I was down on the GB for being AndyF'd but after a quick chat via email I figured I need to get decat'd (or sports Cat'd) before I bother remapping it (if I'm going to get decent results). Remap + 3" sports cat system = more than I have to spend at the moment (unfortunately).

Added myself to the "done a couple, more in the pipeline" one for now... should be a "got loads planned if the wife can be convinced or she'll kill me when I do it anyway" section though
-
FM, wheel spin while overtaking I *really* need to convince the wife
-
Ever heard of a company called overfinch?
-
I definitely need to get myself sorted out with a 3" sports cat/Decat system and then come and visit you with the 2.5 STi I think ...now just to convince the wife

Looking good. What is the difference between the red and green lines on the graph?

I'm pretty sure that the Dyce one was 90.2p/l as well, makes a difference when you are filling the tank. -

Just a quick reminder, it's V Power day again in Aberdeen. Just filled up at the one at the garage again. Spoke to the boy there and its on for the next couple of Tuesdays as well (I guess pretty much all month). -
Going to have to pull out of this. Spoke with Andy and remapping it with no other mods will only give a little benefit, really need to get the likes of the exhaust done first/at the same time to make it worth it. Yup, Filled up at the one in Dyce beside the Airport just after lunchtime as well, 91-something a litre instead of the normal price (7p a litre dearer I think). Managed to fill up the jerry can as well -
Stopped at the Shell station at the airport this afternoon and they have the same promotion on this Tuesday as well, so I'd imagine it looks like all of the Aberdeen Shell garages would be the same on Tuesday. Only put enough in for the weekend, will get it filled on Tuesday
-
Do you know if it's just the Bucksburn one that is doing it or if the Dyce one, etc will be doing the same?
-
Got to say I tend to use the "new posts" link when I check the site When do you hope to have the shop up and running fully? I assume the memberships, etc can be done in the shop again? Iain.

Why not simply add the fiver to the normal SIDC fee's anyway and that way you will make more from everyone who is a member? Obviously would gain more money and would probably have more SC's to support (as opposed to just the SS ones) but maybe it would gain as much if not more overall.

Any chance of some sound clips (and RR graph) for the car? []
