  1. We should have the selection to be used picked on the forum. Anyone/Everyone could submit photos and then by a particular date a poll should be taken, so you have enough time to get the high res versions of the pics to the printers and the calendars made in enough time for xmas pressies
  2. That was the reason the guy I know with the C4S swapped from a hardtop version of that to the Porsche. He'd always slagged off Porsches in the past (so he said) but after trying one he was hooked.
  3. Yeah, but as I've only had experience of the std 06 STi suspension or the C4S Porsche suspension I was trying to base it on that. I would still imagine that the GT3 suspension would be better than the RB320's stuff, although you never know. On the C4S the ride was nice but comfy, switch it onto the "sport" mode and it's more bouncy (like the STi) but still a nicer ride. Also, the residuals on the GT3 will outperform the RB320 (IMO) although that's probably less of a concern for someone choosing between them. The 911's that have rear seats, are surprisingly spacious (I didn't think you could fit anyone in them at all previously) but the GT3 does away with them. The scoob is great performance for the money, but in a choice between the two of them then I know which way I'd go if money wasn't an issue (and 31k on the clock is not a problem either, if it had 100k on the clock then maybe that would be an issue).
  4. As much of a scoob fan as I am (on my 2nd one now) personally I'd go for the GT3. I've driven a C4S and I thought it was a really nice drive, more comfortable a ride without sacrificing the handling, etc. Would imagine that the GT3 would be a harder ride but would still expect it to be a smoother ride than the std STi suspension.
  5. So you have no problems with exhaust gas losses at all with it and it's a direct fit <looks out credit card> What have you done... Was under the impression I was gonna be stuffed until I'd saved enough to do the full sports cat dp and decat system along with an AndyF remap as well. If it can be done in stages like this then so much the better (didn't want to go down the 2.5" route as I'm sure I'll want more and more power as I go so might as well do it "properly" first time round ) The burble was the one thing I was missing on the new motor... the old 94 wagon had a full decat system and was loud as fook, this one is too far the other way and is almost silent (well seems it anyway). Cheers, Iain.
  6. Cool How did you manage to connect the 3" centre to the std 2.5" downpipe? Is the Milltek a 3" system that drops to a 2.5" at the downpipe join or have you got some kind of convertor to go in between? Been planning much the same kind of mods to yourself I think
  7. Imports (ie WRX and STi) have a resonator, UK's all had a CAT AFAIK.
  8. My old 94 wagon damn near passed with no cats Centre cat on and it flew thru' it.
  9. I have both the CM and RB sig stickers on my car and have no plans to ever remove them from it. The OP's large rally style stickers I think are maybe slightly on the large size for me to keep on constantly... think for me I'd have kept on smaller ones but ones as large as that I would probably remove in time. Saying that it's entirely up to yourself as to what you put on your car or what you keep on your car.
  10. IMO I'd say a report for the mag was the right thing to do, but as stated above it needs to be done in the right way, maybe as a larger feature on Colins life and achievements, etc? I would doubt whether it would be the kind of event that a someone in the club would have missed but it would be good to see some of the better pictures, etc put into the magazine as a "permenant" reminder of the celebration of his life.
  11. TBH, if I hadn't bought the Impreza last year I'd be sorely tempted. I was actually looking at Forester STi's back before buying the Impreza, looks a stunning car, although I guess a combo of you not driving it much and me not being in town much means I've not seen you around in it.
  12. Had a quick read thru' about half the mag before I left the house this morning and reckon it seems good so far. Hopefully it'll maintain that same standard (or get even better )
  13. I was lucky on two counts... one the wife got up to see who was at the door at that time in the morning and two that the postie signed for it on our behalf and just chucked it thru' the door ('cos she didn't get up quick enough )
  14. Sounds like it's timing out or something. Best bet would be when you load the screen up to start with hit pause until the red line fills up. Once it's all loaded start playing it and that way you shouldn't get any stuttering or have the same issues you have now.
  15. To clarify. Police told me that they expect the Service of Celebration to be on Friday 28th - They have asked for a rough idea of numbers who'll be attending that day . 1/ Ally-b 2/ Richie Cross 3/Mac 4/Squiggle 5/Bogie 6/H4AFY 7/Gus the Bus (hopefully I'll be able to get a half day) 8/Neill54 9/Scooby Princess and Edmondo (if i can get time off) 10/nippySweeties 11/IainC (depending on babysitters and day off work... second part far easier to organise than the first)
  16. It would have been a good return to see wouldn't it... TBH, I still don't fully believe whats happened IYKWIM...
  17. TBH, I seem to remember that the UK94 I had before was 215 wide... <suddenly remembered having some pics of it on this laptop> ... 215/40/17's is what I had on it the whole time. Fooks knows if the speedo was accurate or not as I didn't have GPS and was never caught by the police[1] You could always ask the tyre dealer as they will no doubt know the main differences between them all but I would have thought that 205 wide on a P1 sounds wrong to me[2] [1] - They got me the first month of owning the 06 STi on a day when I was taking it easy and happened to overtake <shock> on an overtaking lane and was done for 70mph on a 60mph road. :-( [2] - But I'm wrong often enough that even *I* don't always listen to myself
  18. Bear in mind that the 45 part is a percentage of the width, so if you increase the width from 215 to 225 then the 45% is larger (96.75 -> 101.25). Your example changed both the size of rim, width and percentage so it's not easy to see the change required.
  19. I've read a fair bit about this today on various sites and newspapers. Was late hearing about the accident itself until I was speaking to a mate late on last night. Got to say that I still feel like I'm in a bit of shock despite hearing about it last night. I never knew him or met him personally like some on here, but I do remember following all of his rallying exploits (even after he left Subaru). There's little more that can be said that hasn't already on all of the various forums. He was still quite young and had plenty of rallying days left in him IMO. He'll be missed by us all and thoughts have to go to the families of all involved in the accident, to lose one person in an accident must be hard but when you lose a husband and a son (or son and grandson) it must be terrible. Iain.
  20. Sorry for not getting back to you before. Ended up out on the Friday night, again for the whole of Saturday and I'd had to leave the car at work (along with the laptop so couldn't post on here). Didn't have your number to get in contact with you to say I wasn't going to be about. Will be at nights this week though if you are passing. Iain.
  21. Yeah, was as much so we can see what the std one looks like and like you say, once you've dumped it on it's *rse
  22. I'm busy on Saturday but I might be free on Sunday if you want to meet up. You know where I stay (if you remember ) or if you want to do it at yours then I can probably pop round on the Sunday. The wife will be away picking up the kids anyway. It's an 06 STi so should have what you need. Iain.
  23. Not up in Elgin as much these days but can't say I've ever seen it up there or on the A96 at all.
  24. Any pics of the car with the new wheels before you drop it?
  25. Anyway to tie it directly into the forum profile (or at least a link from your profile to the member login).
