  1. I raised the boost on my old UK94 wagon up to ~14-14.5psi (think it runs 11psi as std) which was just low enough to stay under the std fuel cut. I did it using a Dawes device, just had to remember and drop it back down a bit during the winter months as it would try and boost higher (and hit the FC). Ran it like that (plus an induction kit) for a few years with no issues at all, the MAFs on the earlier cars are stronger than the ones on the 96-2000 I believe (or is it 98-2000?). Raising the boost (plus the full decat) made a huge difference to the way it drove.
  2. Anyone got any clips of exhausts on 06 models (STi if poss)? ...and I said I wasn't going to do anything to this one for a long time... :-)
  3. Yup, I had a straight thru' decatted 94 wagon and it was loud as feck as well... was fine when you were in the mood but could be quite draining if you were on a long drive and weren't in the mood.
  4. I had the same done to me (not by a Subaru BTW), had overtaken some cars on the road back home and coming thru' the village I sat at the speed limit (30mph) and before long I had an old sh*tty fiesta right up on the bumper flsahing his lights for me to speed up, despite the fact he was only doing about 50mph on the main roads. It's not just scoobs, theres plenty of rivers like that out there at the moment.
  5. My first experience of them was being in a Pug GTi overtaking another car on a dual carrigeway, and having only seen a tiny dot in the rear mirror at the start of the overtake, pulled back in and this scoob went flying past me... was gobsmacked at how quick it was. A few months later I was looking at swapping from the Pug to a Corrado VR6 and spotted a scoob for sale in the same place... thought I'd blag a test drive in it, wasn't planning on buying it 'cos at that point scoob were really holding their value. Took it for a spin and that was me hooked, managed to persuade the wife that it really was a good idea [] Kept that first scoob for about 5 years before getting shot of it, purely due to the mileage I was doing, traded it for a Leon Cupra TDi (another nice car in a different way) but am back in a scoob again now (MY56 STi).
  6. Looks good, love the bonnet as well.
  7. Just insured with A Plan this year for £468 for a 2006 STi Type UK (std) with me and the wife driving. Was almost a couple of hundred quid cheaper than the renewal from Bell Direct. Tried Keith Mitchells as well but they said they couldn't get close to that figure apparently.
  8. I do, I downloaded them all, but the 97-98 one is 170Mb+ so not email-able. Not sure if you have an FTP site I can upload to?
  9. Yup, just under 8Mb, can email it thru' if you want? PM me your email address and I'll fire it thru' Iain.
  10. Just had a look at that peopleschampion.com website. It looks like it uses the same "back end" site that moneysupermarket.com uses. I'd tried a search with them last week and got a price of £198 for a 2006 STi (quite a few prices around that mark), when you checked against it on their site it definitely listed the STi Type UK, but when you actually went to the insurers website linked from the quote the car you were actually getting quotes on was an Impreza 1.6RZ or something. I gave up in the end as almost all of the quotes I was getting back were based on the same base model rather than the car I'd actually entered into the db (including my reg plate).
  11. I use Reekies/John Gray and Sons in Forres. Much better hourly rate than T&C in Aberdeen, my car gets most stuff done there. I know that quite a few other guys head further south though for theirs?
  12. Would suit me too, could then avoid the kind of accidents that were had at the last one (involving a leaky nappy and a 1yo )
  13. Not a problem. Just thinking that it would make it a lot easier for me to be able to attend a few more of them (possibly others too?)
  14. Any chance of them being a Tuesday night occasionally. Be a lot easier for me to come on my own (or with my wife and daughter) than try to look after my 1yo at the meets by myself, was a real juggling act the first time
  15. Last nights meet was quite good. Tuesday nights would suit me better though as then the wife could come along or Sarah could stay at home. Save me having to wrestle to keep her under control all night Only got a couple of quick photos (not that easy with a camera in one hand and a 1yo in the other ) but don't have anywhere to put them to upload.
  16. Hoping to make it along, although if I do it'll be with my daughter. Will take along your CD's John if I do make it
  17. Forgot all about this, what with all the new nappies to change ;-) Iain.
