  1. All as above mate. But make sure you carry your documents too, if you do get pulled over best to have them so you can get on your way quicker. Carry cash just in case too Have you been on the Nurburgring before? If not bear in mind you mostly likely won't be insured. And that its not a race track anymore. Drive it like it is, without respect, and it will bite you hard! The last thing you want to do there is have an accident. Not only will you probably destroy your way home, you may have to pay for damaged armco, cover costs if they need to shut the road etc. Very very expensive! Just enjoy the car/road don't try to race and remember to check your mirrors all the time! Others may only pass you on the left so stay to the right whilst being overtaken and you'll be fine If you haven't had the car serviced recently, would be a good idea to before you go. The 'Ring punishes your car on tyres and brakes etc
  2. I think you have the blend spot on. Its standard but just enough different for people to stop and take notice Exactly my cup of tea! Fair play fella
  3. Would love to see your car in the metal fella! Utterly stunning
  4. You could also buy quite a few thousand bicycles, but thats rather missing my point
  5. One word for it.... Litchfield. No way i'd spend 50k(!!) on an Impreza! I'm as big a scooby fan as anyone on here, but even if i could afford it i wouldn't. £50k puts it into GT-R territory or M3, RS4/5, C63 AMG etc Even used 911 GT3's or R8's are in that bracket Its the same story with the Evo FQ-400 £50k would buy me a C63
  6. Lol, They are quite big but the drag isn't a problem, Subaru gave the Blob more power than a Bug Never had mine lift the bonnet out of its lock that must be rare surely! More likely for my GF's Clio to open its bonnet at *cough*, erm, speed
  7. Hi matey! You'd never guess that was a 1.6 ! Nice scoob
  8. Welcome to sidc fella! I have a Blob STi too
  9. Knocking rear shocks is a known problem to Subaru UK. Contact them and complain. Most cars get repaired under warranty or at least the bulk of the cost.
  10. Maybe contact the DVLA direct mate, with proof of purchase they should issue you a V5 etc.
  11. Hi fella! (flame suit on from fellow members here...) A scoob needs to be warmed up prior to any full throttle action as much as your BMW. Then theres the time letting the turbo cool again when you arrive so i don't see a benefit in changing to a turbo Impreza Its also more or less guaranteed to be as or more thirsty as your BMW so theres not much point going down to 245ps! Have you driven a scoob yet? 0-60 yes they are rapid, but thats by revving them up and basically side stepping the clutch. Doing that every set of lights will see you hit 60 in about 5.8-6.0secs but you ruin the clutch gearbox very quickly... Its more realistic to be going to 60 in nearer 7.5-8.0secs! I'm not trying to talk you out of getting a scoob here, far from it! They truly are fabulous cars to drive and own! But as a short journey commuter car just seems mean! These cars like to go for a run and hunt more powerful cars like your BMW down on a twisty B-road for fun My own STi sits in the garage until weekends so i can go out and use it properly. With such a short drive in to work how about a Golf R? Audi S3? 1 series 3.0ltr? Left field choice, Renualt Sport Clio 200 or Megan 250? All these offer the 0-60 your after, but benefit from being 'everyday' cars. Just my point of view. I'll expect some comeback from many on here now saying they use their scoob everyday etc
  12. So did the 'normal' STi from '03 onwards As above fella, a WR1 is insured as such, a WR1
  13. The suspension is too hard for a newborn mate. And the thirst is to much for me now too. I'm actually looking forward to getting a new car
  14. Its for sale mate, no way i'd consider putting a newborn in a STi. As you say, bye bye scooby... ...Hello Astra... But even that doesn't dampen how i feel
  15. Yesterday morning on Skimpot rd/Hatters Way at around 9.20am ish. Loooonnnnggggg flash and friendly wave ...My fiancé was driving behind me in the blue Clio said she saw you put your thumbs up too, sorry i didn't see that myself
  16. I'm going to be a dad!!! :D :D My fiancé had her 12 week scan yesterday and baby is doing great! :D
  17. Sunny day, great road and the rumble of... And i wouldn't care if it was a replica!
  18. See, STi is the way to go My 03 UK STi has just a prodrive exhaust. No other mods and is running 290bhp Thats why i said what i did above. 320bhp is easy and rather cheaper to achieve plus i already have the better brakes and gearbox etc as standard
  19. Interesting thread. No one seems to have mentioned that the first serious up grade that should be done is to the WRX's standard... BRAKES! They aren't great for 225bhp let alone 320+! Why are you spending a small fortune modding a 03 WRX when a STi of the same year would have been the better choice Most of the parts on the STi are better suited to 320 straight out the box Far cheaper to buy and achieve 320bhp with a STi than mod a WRX to the equivalent
  20. You must have one of the earliest hawks then. There can't be many that qualify for the lower tax.
