  1. scoobydude Posted May 24 2010, 11:13 AM the WR1 is counted as a standard car (even though it has the PPP). Make sure you get the tracker resubscribed when you buy it or it wont be covered for theft of or theft from the vehicle. How is it you 'resubscribe' the tracker mate? cheers.
  2. Thanks for the info guys, seems to be better and better the more I look into them
  3. Hi guys. Basically checking the prices that will cone along with owning a wr1. I have heard that a lot of insurance companies won't touch scoobies with the PPP or if they do it'll cost a load? Now the fact that wr1 is an sti with PPP amongst other things out the factory will I have to write in on the insurance as a PPP mod or will it take this into account when I say it's a wr1? Cheers lads.
  4. Thanks for all the input guys, interesting to hear others take on it. Personally the more I look into the wr1 the more I like them! So it seems I'll be on the lookout for a wr1 in the near future
  5. Yeh mate i know exactly what you mean but the way im thinking the now is i just want a scooby! Since it will be my first quick car i aint too fussed on modding this particular one so i think WR1 seems a decen tshout especially as it will hold value. I know the hawk pulls better at low rpm but does that mean the WR1 or blob sti dont pull well at low rpm? or just not so much? Also anyone know exact service intervals for WR1? i know they have got more frequent but cant seem to find a definate number? Appreciate any input.
  6. Hi lads basically looking for an impreza. Liked the way the blob looked but heardthe hawk was better for torque. I then see the wr1 which has more torque than the hawk sti but bit cheaper. Personally I wasn't sure of the colour but I do think it's growing on me.. Had a look on the wr1 forums and they think it's the dogs but was just wondering what non wr1 scoob drivers thought? Cheers.
  7. haha! well im glad to hear that its p*sh, i knew it definately didnt sound right - but thought id may aswell check before i purchase haha! thanks a bunch lads.
  8. Hey, basically i am getting very close to buying a Subaru. Due to this, i spoke to a mechanic lecturer who has a vast knowledge of cars. When i was asking his oppinion on scoobies he said that in the newer versions there was a 'known fault' which caused the cars AWD control system to make it harder to drive - so it was practically forcing people off the road instead of keeeping them on. He went on to say that for it to be detected it has to be test driven hard and then becomes noticible. Is this in anyway true? If so is there more information on it? I have looked but cant seem to find anything on it. Thanks in advance.
