  1. Allan, you are correct. Left the good ship Miller for now. Aye, this is the third Type R which has caught my attention in as may days, the budget seems to have gone out the window. Really must behave, will be in touch.
  2. Do other 'Beyond Petroleum' apprentices get discount Allan?
  3. Doug, nice find but whereabouts are they, i presume in Scotland? Would email myself but offshore atm. Likewise Kenny, will chat on Wednesday. Thanks Cal but for that sort of money i'd be looking for an RA.
  4. If we get over 25 names in the next week then yeah, i'll firm things up with Gav. I fear it could take until December to get that many notes of interest however...
  5. TypeRA28, like i said, for the money yours just didn't tick enough boxes - no offence. No wagons either i'm afraid else i'd have had Dougs off him in a flash. Gee, i'd appreciate more details. Specific model and asking price is enough for now. Email is carl@gc8.co.uk
  6. Looking at making a return to the Subaru fold soon. Have seriously considered importing and still may travel this route although buying something already in the UK negates the wait. Must Haves: Classic Shape JDM Nice To Haves: STi RA, i.e. lightweight DCCD Facelift Dash Would consider a WRX RA at the right money but seeing what they're fetching at the moment i'd rather spend the extra and get something STi based. Dream find would be an STi Version 4 Type RA although they seem hard to come by (hence leaning towards importing one). Not sure if i even want to put it on the road (yeah right...) but this depends on how insurance goes with having 2 cars. Will consider cars up to 8k but looking to keep it down to 6k max. Any bargains around?
  7. Ach, may as well pull the plug on this. There obviously isn't the interest required.
  8. Will still be offshore come Friday but Paul and his family will be in my thoughts. Carl
  9. Doug's talking about half-filling the tank rather than filling it to the brim at each visit to Shell. Hence, because he is filling it twice as regularly the fuel is having less of a chance to degrade in his fuel tank. Whether or not it's degrading on the forecourt instead is another matter....
  10. Always good to hear. Now get signed up to the ABZ RR Day in November and meet the locals.
  11. Thanks for the heads up Steve. Anymore for anymore? 1. Carl Davey, Cav Turbo 2. Jamie, Scooby ...depending on shifts 3. Iain, WRX Bug 4. Wuz 5. Ac!D 6. RS Grant 7. TrickyB 8. Miss Scooby, STI Type R - sorry, cant make the 20th 9. Power Junkie STI Type R 10. Sarah/John, WRX pending MOT pass 11. Rossyboy 12. Johnny50 (car unknown at present)
  12. A good friend of mines new mini-venture. Will do decent discounts for Group Buys etc if interested. I was using Octane Plus in mine for the record. www.fuelboost.co.uk
  13. Jamie, back on the 5th if you're still going to be around then. EDIT: that said there'll be an Old Mill meet in Peterculter on the 4th if i've done my sums right.
  14. I only met Paul once during a run down from Aberdeen to an SIDC Track Day. I've always remembered that day as it was the first where Paul and Jools were on track together. Seeing the 'Mad P1' and Newage going hammer and tong around the circuit has always been one of my favourite Knockhill memories. I seem to remember it as my first track day and it's never been bettered since. I don't have access to all the pictures of Paul that day as i'm offshore myself but here's one i did manage to find. How i remember Paul. Even though it was brief encounter the stories of Paul became the stuff of legend at the Aberdeen SIDC meets, i for one don't think i'll ever forget him. Goes to show how much of an impression one person can make on another in a single day. RIP Carl Davey
  15. Fleabay it Doug, you may get more than you expect.
  16. I was expecting a toddler... That's fantastic. I can't believe he was so tame, i love it when things like that happen.
  17. Ho hum, dieing a death isn't it? Didn't realise there was another RR day organised at Dalgety Bay Dastek in October... Will leave this to run but offshore tomorrow. Would be nice to see some of the regulars together again, where have all us sheepshaggers gone?
  18. Of course, although will have to check with Gavin to see if the same discount applies.

  20. I'd go Dawes and FCD Kev. I've just ordered one for £17 or something ridiculous, can't go wrong for that much IMO. I'd always seen it as a crude method of boost control but i've heard good things said about MBCs in general from people in both the Subaru and Vauxhall tuning worlds so am going to suck one and see for myself. Beats the hell out of a bleed valve and it's £17 i'd rather spend than feck about plumbing my AVC-R into the Cavalier.
  21. Ross, i doubt i'll be Scoobed up again by then so will be chucking my taxi on for the craic. For £30 it'd make for a cheap 'before' run prior to the mods going on and will be more accurate than going on figures made a year or so ago? It may also show up anything untoward prior to carrying out the mods?
  22. As i said the other day Jamie congratulations and good luck. The time away may seem daunting at first but you'll soon get used to it. It may take a bit longer but i'm sure the better half will learn to live with it too. Especially when the big houses and flash cars start coming home.
