  1. Yeah, like Russ says. 5 mins to whip out the headlights.
  2. Ditto, i fly out at 06:00 tomorrow morning - want a list of jobs? []
  3. Eventually got home last night at 01:30 after leaving at 05:00 that morning! Car was as expected and the seller an absolute gent so no problems what so ever on that front. Weather on the way home was a different matter altogether... sheet rain and blizzards which got particularly bad (snow lying) for the final 50 miles when i was most tired - good DCCD pratice though. [] The RA was ok on the motorway and averaged well over 300 miles to a tank. Bit of a heart stopping moment when i underestimated just how far Stracathro services were from Dundee and the fuel needle dropped below empty. [] Didn't go much above 80mph the whole way home for fear of speed cameras etc, which is 4000rpm in this one! Aye it's Martins old RA Grant, he finally came down to a price i thought warranted the journey. Wouldn't you like to know what i paid for mine Russ. [] [] I've been behaving.... honest![] Usual scabby STi manifold (not for long!). The fun wheel. [] Two pot rears. [H] Hedgehogs view.
  4. Lol Craig! I'm flying sleazyjet to Luton then catching a train over to Reading to see a V4 STi RA. [H] Steve, you know if you're flying £astern (no typo) you're flying on business. [] []
  5. Off to the darkest depths of Englandshire first thing tomorrow morning to go look at a Scooby. If the car is all it's cracked up to be then i'll mostly be spending the rest of the day on the M6. Wish me luck and gimme a wave if you see me! []
  6. I'd recommend Jim & Julian at Turriff Tyres too. They beat net prices for GSD3's on the girlfriends 172 Cup.
  7. The Fife Arms in Turriff seems to pick up a lot of the local passers by. It's a bit less spit and sawdust than the rest of the local bars and Sandra is a good lass if a little uptitght sometimes. Loads of places here - http://www.turriffanddistrict.com/index.php?topicid=3 My old dear is travelling to Aboyne at the moment and isn't enjoying it, this is probably more due to the fact she is travelling with the rush traffic. Working backshifts you shouldn't have much of a problem. I'm away on Wednesday but if there's anything i can do before then give me a shout. []
  8. My dear ol' Mum commutes to all of those destinations from bonnie Turra' Lindsay. £50 a night you say? I'm sure i could find a spare room in my humble abode for you. [] What is it you're coming up for?
  9. Where've you been for the past 7 years? There's been an unmarked red Omega on the go since i passed my test. [] It's the black Cav Turbos you have to watch out for. []
  10. I'm sorry to hear that Russ. A stark reminder for all indeed. Get home safely.
  11. Got your voicemail but just off out, let me know your email and i'll bring you up to speed in the morning. :-)
  12. This Type R took my coupe virginity. Cracking car. Grant, can you PM me what you're asking for the Apexi PFC you bought from that nice bloke in Turriff?
  13. Cigarette butts are supposed to be good for doing the lettering with. I just used a thin brush the three times i did mine. PS: i'd seriously consider just leaving them. Before you know it the paint will look worse than the calipers currently do...
  14. Now what shade is the car in Darrylls avatar? Bright Yellow, Sunflower Yellow, Cashmere Yellow, Matchbox Yellow, Corgi Yellow or Scalextric Yellow? (if you're about to answer put a gun to your head )
  15. << will say it isn't Cashmere Yellow though, but bright yellow. Cashmere Yellow was indeed on the Sports in this country, but it was available on V6 STi's of the same year. Cashmere Yellow is that sort of pastel yellow. Not my choice at all.(bottom of this page) >> I was going to say that Dave but didn't want to seem INCREDIBLY anal. Oh well...
  16. Colin, sounds interesting. Can i have the details and pics too please? To carl@gc8.co.uk thanks.
  17. Ricey, trying to email you but keeps on bouncing back (work address). Bits on their way this morning.
  18. Your car getting louder isn't the only energy change that takes place when you de-cat it. You are removing the restrictive cat(s) from your exhaust which sap kinetic flow and heat energies from the gases leaving your turbo. By removing the cats your exhaust gases carry a whole lot more energy to the tailpipe. The extra noise is a small by product.
  19. Some competetion for Gav and Russ on the power run front at least. Will definitely be paying a visit.
  20. Has Mr Reid persuaded you into a Cavalier yet then Paul? Gorgeous car.
  21. Congratulations Russ. If Huggy Jnr pushes the car out the garage too you know where i am.
  22. Doesn't sound like you had too bad a time. See you when you get back big fella.
