  1. I need to take a run into Aberdeen before going back offshore... How do you find out about these days?
  2. Iain, i'll pop round on Sunday if that's ok? Either before or after the GP depending on start time. I just need to whip a bolt out to check the length and eye up the fuel rails, maybe take a couple of pictures too. Doug, i'm good thanks. If you open and close some BBS tags inside the word that's captured by the swear filter you'll get around it. Oldest trick in the book.
  3. I need to test some parts on a Newage Impreza (with top feed fuel rails). Mainly just to check clearances etc but some real world testing could be on the cards if all goes well. I shouldn't need the car for any longer than a day. Any volunteers?
  4. I had great fun yesterday so thanks to John and the team for putting together a cracking day out. [H] Callum (white Evo 9 driver) has been pestering me to start sprinting the Scoob and i have to say i enjoyed my first outing on track with it. Credit to both Callum and Tony in the Evos for showing everyone how it should be done. No excuses here, both those cars are RS models (Callums is an MR RS, Tonys is an RS Extreme IIRC) so no AYC.... just better diffs. [] Seriously, the Imprezas DCCD is a handful in the wet and with hindsight i could've done with winding it forward a touch more on my wet lap to assist with my lack of talent. Even so i was delighted with a 70.07 which was within a second of the Evos best wet laps. It was disappointing not to see more Scoobies on track at an SIDC event and also sad to hear John having to practically beg for someone to let Rob away from the stopwatch so he could go on track. Infiltrator, my car was last dyno'd with 280bhp but has had a 3" de-cat, Newage STi TMIC and some other little tweaks done since then so say ~310bhp on a good day. Callums Evo is ~380bhp. Great pictures Simon/ScoUK/MrToad, i'll be stealing some of those for my website update this month. []
  5. I washed the Fridge V2 today, that's the second time this year so it must be a special occasion!
  6. It belongs to a friend of Marcs (Boyakasha on here). Very nice car, drooled over it myself when i hired a van from Morrisons a few weeks back.
  7. I enjoy designing parts for Imprezas... http://www.carldavey.co.uk
  8. Cam breathers are 1/2" (12.7mm []) on the Classic at least. IIRC the block breather is slightly larger. Not wishing to teach anyone to suck eggs but remember hose size is measured by internal diameter.
  9. I've just realised you have a Newage STi which will have the Brembos as standard. [:$] Most of what i said still stands although i'm led to believe the Brembos are nowhere near as bad as the 4-Pots fitted from MY99 onwards.
  10. To many rumours of drilled discs cracking for me to take the chance Peter. I have to admit the AP's are good though. Hey Davie, the wheels cost a small fortune in the end but they came good and are the wheels i wanted for the car. [H] If you have the cash spare i'd seriously recommend the AP's. By the time you've bought a decent 'fast-road' set up your wallet will be £400 lighter (quoting Steve): £170 Discs £130 Pads (tried 1144's and didn't rate them, 1155's or DS2500 are ok) £60 4x Braided Lines That's before you've added the cost of fluid, delivery and fitting if necessary. Factor in that they probably won't last even a years worth of enthusiastic weekend driving and suddenly the AP setup seems like a feasible idea. That was how i sold myself the AP's anyway. I was lucky enough to stumble across a Group Buy for them on here which allowed me to buy everything for £1200 minus braided lines and fluid. I already had the braided lines, bought the fluid and fitted everything myself to save further. I'll admit i scraped the bottom of my overdraft to buy them but i haven't regretted it since. Furthermore, when it comes to selling the car i refit the OEM 4-Pots and sell the AP's at less of a loss than the cost of the 'fast-road' setup listed above. [] Speak to Russell Hulme (WUZ on here) regarding a Godspeed AP Brake Kit. He gets favourable rates from Ian, is in Aberdeen and could fit them if you're not that way inclined.
  11. The ones on the green car above are PD7's. The ones on Ebay are mine... get bidding! []
  12. Yes the first car was pretty but it's not a patch on the STi, even after i tuned the engine to 300bhp. The brakes are pretty good Peter. []
  13. Here's where i stuck mine in my first car.
  14. Fridge V1 (MY98 UK Turbo, 2001 - 2005) Fridge V2 (MY98 STi RA, 2005 - Present) Latest mod... []
  15. Yes i can confirm the only crap thing about the WP Dyno (the graphs/logging) have now been replaced with much prettier ones littered with nice things like AFR and boost plots. Indeed, my 111,000 mile 13 year old Cav Turbo seems to be in better health than my far newer Impreza! Russ, will email you in a second. Want to pick your brain about some of the results from Saturday. []
  16. Cool, count me out then. 215/45/17 1. WUZ 2. WUZ 3. 4. 5. 225/45/17 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Sorry about your brakes. []
  17. Any news Russell? Brakes arrived this morning so the tyres have to be rubbered up by the weekend.
  18. Well done Stuart, you kept that quiet! You'll have to come visit me on the Bruce sometime. []
  19. I actually got fed up waiting and emailed Ian this morning (you're copied on it). He replied saying they'll be with me tomorrow but i'm not holding out any great hope as he also said he was using Parcel Force. I'll take the tyres at £460 and can collect from yours, just let me know when. Cash on the day ok? I'm home for three weeks but need the tyres before i go fitting the brakes.
  20. BTTT Would rather get them from you Russ but if this doesn't happen soon i'm dropping out. Can get elsewhere for £115 ea. + delivery so only a small saving. Heard anything regarding the AP's?
  21. Yes they're in stock for the MY02. That's if you haven't already spent more buying them elsewhere.
  22. I'll bet you £10 it isn't. [] (i'd love to be proven wrong. [])
  23. Brian, the V1 was the only STi which didn't come with a red-top manifold. Grant, have you checked to see if yours/Imys are ported/polished? Would be interested in pics if they were. I've seen 15-20 manifolds from various classic Imprezas and each casting has been near identical be it UK, WRX or STi. I believe there is some truth in what Russell says but until i've seen one it remains a rumour (at best) for me.
