  1. Service - I might know someone who can help You can also try Brian Downie or Jim King MOT - Jim King (was Inverurie, now Lethanty Mills) - tell him I sent you and he'll see you right.
  2. (turns and races for the garage door to bolt it shut and switches off the lights) - GREAT NEWS CAL! Try and stay focused on this one.................... she is a beast alright. Russell
  3. STi with a little lightening would be my choice Russell
  4. Ciaran - I think I have another on elurking in the workshop but I cannot be sure, I'll PM you once I get back and find out. ie, I know I have 1 set but I think I might have 2 Russell
  5. Allan - can't get to it until I get home m8. If you need it ASAP then you might need to look elsewhere otherwise I'll PM you upon my return and you can let me know what you want to do. Russell
  6. Cal - you gotta remeber your only spending 4K and for that you ain't going to find a minter. if some of the panels are a differetn colour then maybe has had a prang in it of it's been repainted for another reason - 95% of Scoobs have had paint in their lifetime (remember your Scoobs and the paint they've had!) - doesn't mean its dodgy. Unless you can get him to take a specific picture of a certain part of the engine there is no easy way to confirm the block type. even after all this............ if your heart says yes but brain still say no THEN WALK AWAY.......... I'm sure you'll find your ideal car sooner or later! Russell
  7. Ciaran - assuming Fonzy does not want it m8, then it's yours. Once I get back to the UK (3 weeks), we'll discuss it further. PM me with your mobile number and I'll call you when I hit the shore. Russell
  8. I have a spare BRAND NEW KnockLink and sensor that you can have for 115? Russell
  9. STI TMIC has larger surface area therefore better cooling of charge temps. lower charge temps are good for any turbocharged car. STI TMIC has Alloy "Y" pipe and silicon hose, not the cheap Black Plastic pipe that can split with age and under higher than average boost (they can go @ 1.3 Bar!) 2 good reason to upgrade there (unless you have the PPP Silicon "Y" pipe in which case its only 1)! Russell
  10. Another vote for the Tial 50mm BOV from me. Russell
  11. 321T with the small inlet (63mm?) is great on a 2005 car as it has AVCS (variable valve timing) - just ask AndyF, he'll see you right! Russell
  12. I can understand the reasoning behind both arguements but lets try to put it into perspective here. On car about 3 years or older, the pump is starting to get tired (just as we all have as we've got older) and a fresh healthly young pump is always going to be fitter for the engine, especially if its having to work harder. Safety built into a pump that can run the required fuel at the required pressure so as to not die on you on a high speed run with injectors flat out and then................................ no fuel..............guess what's next............... lean running, etc, etc. Newage has the ECU ability to control voltage to the ECU and hence flow rate so it (if mapped suitably) will not overfuel because of the pump. If the OE pump was good enough for standard and slighty modded scoobs, why is the fuel pump uprated on the PPP conversions? Worth thinking about. BETTER TO FIT SOMETHING THAT MAY NEVER PROVE ITSELF NECESSARY IN DAY-TO-DAY RUNNING THAN NOT FIT IT AND FIND THAT IT COSTS YOU AN ENGINE REBUILD IN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food for thought Russell ps - I NEVER FORCE SOMEONE TO BUY OR FIT A PUMP - I always put my side across to punters but let them make the final choice........ but all bills that people get for the work done (who warrant fitting a new pump), those who don't get a pump fitted have a little warning placed on their receipts, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH 10 YEAR OLD CARS.................... THAT CAN BE ONE TIRED, OLD PUMP!!!!!
  13. Simmie - message sent last night over on "the other site" m8. People (me included) have been running wothout the Carbon cannister for years with no issue. Pipe the 1-way valve down to underneath the Passenger wishbone area and you'll be fine. Some people who are a little worried will drill a 2mm hole unto the middle of their Fuel filler Cap (NOT WITH IT ON THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and this removes potential for excessive buildup of vapours but negates the use of the 1 way valve as theres never enough pressure buildup to force it open. It was for emissions control. But how many of us run Decat systems? Plus it means you can fit the Newage PS reservior in there! (might be his plan?) Russell
  14. Version 3 and 4 had the Phase 1.5 heads and went from individual Coilpacks to the single Coil with wasted Spark system seen on this engine. Its a V3-4 engine but whether is an STi (with the goodies) is sceptical as there seems to be no red paint on manifold. It is possible that the engine was changed prior to him getting it BUT wiring was different on these compared to the V5 ISCV plug TPS plug, etc so I fail to see how it came out of a V5 car. Beware is all I say, I'd think twice before spending that amount of dosh on that engine!!!! Russell
  15. The one I forgot to add into my post..................................DOH! Edited now to add it in there Russell
  16. STi5 engine on eBay.....NOT! Read the post and look at the pictures and tell me what's wrong! Somebody ain't gonna be happy when they research into this engine AFTER buying it. Russell
  17. Where abouts m8? - be good to have you up here. Your motor will certainly turn heads over this side of the country. Russell
  18. Was going to say that but he might have got confused Russell
  19. Stu - now that presents a problem.......those of us who come over to the "Ring" with RE070's and R888's, are PLOD able to stop us and charge us with a motoring offense based on us driving on their roads with these tyres? Could be lots of people in trouble, based on the last R888 count at the Ring last time we were there, we're talking about 150-200 cars that weekend alone! Russell
  20. Jools - thought you might be home already as the Scoob was spotted heading from Kintore to Blackburn by me about 2 weeks ago - though it might be you............... but unless you hair colour has changed, I'll assume it wasn't Russell ps - car was sounding sweeeeeeeeeeeet - on-boost heaven!
  21. I noticed that............................................... by the amount of tread left when they were returned to me. PMSL - only joking Stu. Surprising good in the wet - ONCE WARMED UP AS CALLUM RIGHTLY STATES - but never run them when it is wet and cold (below 6 Degrees) or you'll see the ugly side of these tyres. Russell
  22. Stuart - you don't need an impact wrench to remove the 8 X 14mm bolts that hold the flywheel to the Crank........ Once the Box is removed there are 2 long M10 Studs sticking out from either side of the bottom of the engine. Remove the 6 X 12mm Bolts holding the clutch onto the flywheel (M8X1.25 thread). Get a double ring- ended ring spanner (10/11mm will be fine) and put one end over the 10mm Stud I spoke about and the other end put an M8 X 30mm bolt (bolts that mount the Intercooler to its respective brackets on Engine/Inlet will do) through the ring spanner, rotate the flywheel to align bolt up with one of the bolt holes that held the clutch on and screw in bolt............. This now has the Flywheel locked in place and will allow you to use a 14mm socket and breaker bar to remove the bolts on the flywheel (they are normal thread, anti-clockwise to loosen, clockwise to tighten!) JOB DONE!
  23. Cool - I always double check their Skimmed ones anyway with a DTI guage and chuck setup on the vice..............just as a precaution. When people pay you to fit them, you need to be sure your fitting the best stuff you can. Else its always you that looks stupid as you have to change it out for them on your own time. Russell
  24. Please, feel free to share if you guys feel that "certain places" don't do a good job as I would rather pay extra to go to the right place. Never had an issue with AGRA so far..............they used to build a lot of AWD stuff and built my old MY97 Scoob engine (30K+ @ 360bhp) as well as my Pulsar engine and so far both car still runs well! Russell
