  1. Hello! Sold my evo8 which had 360 arabian thoroughbreds to fund my honeymoon back in october and recently just bought a completely standard 94wrx with 240? ish ponies off ebayon a quiet day @work for what i thought was a bargain - or as my workmate said - king of impulse buying (wish the IT lad would ban ebay!) but hey when a 1.9tdi A4 becomes your main runabout these things can happen has proved a fun wee thing but have annoyingly started to look at mods...a few quick questions: can i fit an sti topmount easily (bolt on?) and where can I get one? to panel filter or mushroom (always used hks SPF in past to good effect but have been told might not be so good on the wrx) car has been fitted with 4 pots - pads are crap am gonna change (believe are standard) , now on my evo 8 i had PF strap discs whats a good cost effective way to go on the 94wrx? was thinking maybe hitech or goodspeed bigger disc kits with ds2500- anygood or are they oldskool and newer options available? also can the gearbox be changed easily for a uk one or perhaps at least 5th gear for a longer gear? kept from my st205 I have 8*17" et 35 alloys with 235/45/17 barely used djo1s (ideal for knockhill) - will they fit the 94wrx? anyhoo soon to join SIDC as my MLR membership has runout and hopefully see some of you at knockhill soon. rgds, Nyle.
  2. Apart from checkpoint/tinthaus who else is good for window tints in Aberdeen/Dundee area. what sort of prices is it usally. Cheers.
  3. on wed night a car tried to squeeze past me, from behind, by going in the opposit carrigway and sneak a right turn at the junction as i was waiting in traffic to turn left. there was no room and he scraped his car against my rear 1/4panel and bumper scuffing, scratching and denting it. the old dude admitted it was his fault and aplogised, we exchneged details and he offered to pay for repair. yester i then went and got 2 quotes from a mr.T suggested bodyshop and another reputable quality shop. both said the bumper would need repainted and the rear 1/4panel with some time trying to get the dent out. quotes were circa 260+vat. so just off phone withthe old dude who refused to pay so much, thinks hes being held to ransom.i'm well p*ssed off!!!! he - says its too much and he never thought it would be so much! admits its his fault and that he was at fault but said that circa 300 was too much, arranged to meet up with him later and i offered the chance of trying to find a lower cost quote, gonna try a bodyshop after asking him to to suggest one, that way if they come back with a similar price he cant argue about it as he suggested it. just got a sick feeling he'll make this difficult... i havent reported to the police or my insurance (as i dont want my no claims effected) - any suggestiosn on doing this and constructive ones if the old codger wont pay up? one thing though he is keen not to go through his insurance...? i've never been involved in an accident or had to make a claim, any suggestions? there was no visible damage on his suzuki baleno, not that i cared to look i was just to upset at the state of my immaculate paint work... very vexed

  6. dont think it would fit my GT4 - though i would like a smaller wheel - OEM one is MASSIVE!! might go for momo as i liked the one in my lancer
  7. being new to the area can anyone tell me who's good and who to avoid? drove past checkpoint yesterday and the had some jap machinery and a large tein sticker on their window... they any good? looking to get windows tinted (had enough of these bloody X5, audi and other aresholes tailgating me on A90 with they daft bright blinding lights) also needing some tein or other coilovers supplied and properly set up who can do that sort of thing in the aberdeen area cheers (also when do the newton hill roadworks finish?)
  8. what about a friday or saturday night...? or even an early morning meet so we can go for a decent drive?
  9. aye, 18" - the new style compomotive pro - my "sunday" wheels had them on track for the sidc day back in sept but found they were a bit too cumbersome, so use the 17" team dynamics pro race1 (very light) for track stuff.
  10. << Dorikin, get those wheels painted WHITE!!!! >> you mean like this?
  11. i had falken 451's on my lancer - great tyre for the price and i'd argue better than the bridgestones they replaced. they griped well in wet, dry and snow (215/45/16). on my gt4 i had hankook ventus 104 and khumo ecstas which never really impressed wet or dry (but were decent) - recently replaced with pirelli pzero assimetricos (kwikfit are doing 25% off or buy 4 get 1 free ) and they have been superb so far only bettered by the dunlop do1js in dry and they are amazing in wet - just give awsome amounts of grip - mind you the GT4 is a great handling car
  12. aye cheers I touch goats back

  14. starting a new job up in aberdeen next week and need to find a place to rent.... what areas of aberdeen are nice and what areas should i avoid (i really dont know much about aberdeen and its areas). my office will be in carden place so anywhere within easy short driving good, short walk better or if anyone knows a nice flat or room to let for a professional.... (may even just be for mon-thursday as i could come home, dundee, at weekends) - oh and nothing too expensice either, just graduated and starting out on my engineering career cheers, nyle
