  1. Ed, nothing in the post from Subaru or Motorpoint for me, or my mate, so maybe you're just a one off. Hope you get it sorted.
  2. VBH. You would, wouldn't you? Her naughty school girl giggle when she hangs the arse of a porsche out. Tiff annoys the hell out of me. His voice grates. Plato is a good tester. The Bill Baillie-a-like seems to get all the crap jobs that even top gear wouldn't cover. Still, at least we're getting motoring interest telly.
  3. There was a top article on the BBC website yesterday. A write in job from a girl just outside Dalkeith commenting on her village being a death trap filled with speeding motorists. Not a camera in sight. Plenty of good comments about cameras in all the places where money can be made - straight sections of road perfect for overtaking - and none where lifes will be saved.
  4. Speaking of motring Journalism. I think any of us could get a job presenting Fifth Gear on five. The poormans top gear, complete with paid for advertising segments for Aston Martian.
  5. I've never understood why magazines post certain letters. Some of them are clearly written by utter numpties. Maybe they didn't want to expose their short comings in not handing out the stickers. Now where can I find this A82?
  6. Thanks for the compliment Andy. I aim to please. That's a clean looking engine Dougster. That swissol engine bay cleaner is quite hard to come by it seems. I've got the entry collection with samurai wax and it's the business. So I imagine their engine stuff is also great.
  7. Big thanks to Hypertech for supplying and fitting my strut brace today. Got it fitted whilst it was in for an oil change this morning. Car picked up from work and dropped off a few hours later. Top service again. No pics yet, but it's looking mighty fine. One of cusco's finest. I need to clean the engine bay a bit, too many wasps in the IC to get rid of before I take photies. Certainly feel a bit of a difference again with it. Combined with the geometery and drop links done previously it makes the car fantastic to drive. Well worth the cash. Now that the control is sorted I can get to the power!
  8. Chris, your point is 100% right, up until Malta joined the EU. I looked at getting a WRX last june, but Motorpoint only provided a 1 year warranty with them. When I was in the financial postion to buy the car in December I went back to motorpoint to see if the situation had changed, fully expecting it hadn't. It was explained why they now offered the 3 year warranty as the car was sourced from the EU, and that IM/Subaru/everyone was OK with this. I had been going to use virgin cars or buyacar.co.uk or litchfields, but with motorpoint saying that, and them being literally 10 minutes away from my house I made the obvious choice of getting it with them. I've recommended them to a few people now, including my mate Rich who some of you met at knockhill. He bought a 54 plated WRX from them. I've had loads of PMs on scoobynet asking if I recommended them too, and I know 3 or 4 people for definite have bought cars based on my good opinion of them + other research they'd done. So this situation leaves me in a bit of a hole as most of my advice centred on "the warranty is fine".
  9. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK. I got my car from Motorpoint back in December last year, on the basis it came with a pan european warranty, which they assured me it did. Once I received the documentation from Liaco/Subaru Malta and Motorpoint I then registered the car with International Motors/Subuar UK. I have a letter from them confirming that they will acknowledge the warranty too. As far as I know the garages in the UK carry out the work under and then bill subaru malta for the costs. I fail to see why they'd have a problem with this as Subaru Malta have fully agreed to make good on these warranty claims. Hopefully there's no letter waiting for me when I get home.
  10. Are the up pipe and down pipe worth 20-30 each or combined? Would I be right in saying that an 05 WRX with a full decat, or at worst a single wisely placed sports cat, and with either an STI panel filter or an induction kit would make about 270+ after a remap?
  11. I came for the car advice and stayed for the banter.
  12. This is smokescreen. He came from the planet cybertron millions of years ago.
  13. Top stuff Cal. Sounds like money well spent. Posts like this stop me buying things like defis or an ipod for using in the car. It focusses the mind on a saving full decat or single sports cat solution and a remap for real mans entertainment.
  14. I'll take some of that action peter. £10 to the Santa cruise says he's back on Saturday or after. I'm only saying that as he's away to England or something on Business this week from what I remember he said in another thread.
  15. If we get 100 cars I'll do it in reverse.
  16. Check out the crash at the bottom of this page. No one was seriously injured, few broken bones and cuts and bruises. What a noise though. Stay safe kids.
  17. What about a nice representative selection of cars? It'd be no use having 12 Blue blobeye STIs with gold wheels would it? First decide on some categories like classics, blobeyes, bugeyes, wagons, etc. etc. A car could maybe fit into more than one category, for instance if there was some sort of "cars on track" category then pictures for that could also be used in that cars own category. Then make a thread for each category where people can submit pictures of their own car that fits said description. You following me? Give that say a week to run, then take said pictures and put them all into a gallery somewhere and then hold a poll on them, again say a week. The winners of the poll then get their picture in the calendar. Saving a month or two for the best of the group photos. If there was say 5 categories then you'd get the winner and runner up from each category in the calendar.
  18. Quality Ally. They'll look the business. At that price it's worth it just for a wee laugh, assuming they're easy to wire up and then take off again.
  19. That would be great. It's always good do to have people in the know.
  20. We'll get you a special LED backlit one chris.
  21. I thought you would be spooks. After our discussion about the R34s when we were at AWD.
  22. Get them whilst they're hot! Don't think they have one big enough to fit my H+S backbox though. Boo hoo.
  23. Car was 11K, so near enough. That was quite cheap for the spec back in 2001, and it was a mile away from my house, and I had the money for it, but not for the insurance clealry. Even a cheap quote was 2K+
  24. That's the old 2001 prototype. The new one hasn't been seen yet.
