  1. It's simple JC. Pictures in signatures make the pages bigger, both in terms of the size on screen and in how much has to be downloaded to view them. They make them harder to read through. It takes longer to hunt for the information in amongst the pictures as your eyes will naturally be drawn to pictures over the text. If someone posts 3 replies to a particular thread then their picture shows up three times on that thread. Do we really need to see that picture 3 times on that 1 page? NO. Avatars are fine because they are set aside from the general flow of the thread itself, but pictures and large signatures in general completely disrupt the flow of the conversation. I know it seems petty or sad, but I write software and websites for a living. If I presented a website with pictures in between the text or content then I'd lose my job frankly. Usability and accessability is paramount. Pictures that aren't part of the content aren't. Bringing back the old forum wont help - it certainly never supported pictures. I hope that explains it.
  2. PFFFFFF. You want to see the trubo from a Cat 777 truck. About the size of something REALLY BIG.
  3. I thought you meant whether to take the car out on track or not. To which the answer was YES.
  4. To all that have posted - THERE IS NO TROUBLE. STOP READING INTO THINGS! Glasgow and Ayrshire are back to loving each other in a manly but purely plutonic way again.
  5. I'm well aware I'm spoiling all the fun and being an arse, but frankly my dear I don't give a damn.
  6. Fromst the guidelines - "Signatures [Added 14th February]<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /> Whilst the forum software allows the facility to upload a picture it is requested that NO pictures are included." The offenders know who they are! Signed: The campaign for Internet Usability
  7. Hah. Yeah. That's why I recognised it too. Did a couple of courses down there last year. Guy on the second one had an Impreza but don't think he was SIDC.
  8. Fee, is that Beaverbank Industrial Estate? Car's looking good BTW.
  9. Bothwell: Took my dad AGES to get out the driveway in the merc even after we cleared a path and then my brother and I gave him a bit of a shove. I managed it first time without any clearing!
  10. You're trying to link to a picture on your hard drive. Which we all can't access of course. Upload it to photobucket or somewhere.
  11. Looks good. But then I'm biased when it comes tot he Scott Lowe splitters. Might try and repair mine tomorrow actually!
  12. 1hkpa = 1 bar also. My R-Vit reads out in hkpas. I make about 1.1 usually.
  13. FREEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAK! I think google videos does some sort of fantastic conversion on what you upload. I've got a couple of clips taken last year which I might upload later on if I remember.
  14. Sign up to google videos and upload your vids there. Might cut down on the expensive bandwidth! Plus google videos isn't filtered here at work, so I've spent a wee while searching for "knockhill" on it and there's a few results - http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=knockhill
  15. I changed my own headunit and that was a big improvement straight away. Not got round do doing my speakers yet, probably get them fitted for me. I've got a 12" Pioneer Sub and Pioneer Amp sitting in my lounge that I should install sometime too.
  16. I never spot any scoobs in Bothwell really. Get a wave now and again from a new wagon and that's about it.
  17. I wired in a 3 way ciggy socket splitter (and an inline fuse) into the back of mine. I've got the splitter down in the footwell with my Road Angel plugged into it. My idea for installing that was that going on a roadtrip with a phone/pda used for sat nav, Bluetooth GPS receiver etc. etc. that could all be charged conveniently off that if needed. Leaving the main siggy socket free and hidden behind the flat dash panelling where it belongs. Not really been on any serious road trips yet, but alas.
  18. Dave, Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  19. Welcome. To be honest the lights on the blobeye are pretty rough too.
  20. Is Innerleithen commutable to Edinburgh? I need a gaff in or near Edinburgh before my commute kills me. Oh aye. Nice car etc. too. Forgot that.
  21. I'm always slowing for big Skodas now. Not so much for Omegas.
  22. Not sure if I'm going to this one or not. Well I fully intend being there but maybe not on track. I'm skint at the moment.
  23. Really. I'm sweating a bit now as I didn't think it was anywhere near that.
  24. Yes. It's the wise thing to do I think. I don't think I've been hit by anymore. Not sure what the range on a van is, but I'm sure I missed the rest, and I was slowed down for the SPECs in the roadworks nearer Preston. I've worked out if I'd just slowed down a bit in the first place a wee bit I would have actually got where I was going just as fast as I wouldn't have run out of petrol so quickly and had to stop. 400 miles = £80. Not good considering all but 10 miles of it was motorway.
  25. Good luck mate. Enjoy the sun.
