  3. sweeeet! you wont be dissapointed with it Chris, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh
  4. cheers mate, will have some pics this weekend of it with the front splitter on and given a good wash hopefully!
  5. knew you werent taking to the hawk so think you did the right thing before you sunk too much into it trying to make it behave like a classic (here speaks experience ) now go find a nice P1 and grin all day long!
  6. as said il be at rallyday - anyone left up this way?
  7. I went for an Owen Developments 400 Peter, not a really big power one but spool ups pretty good and it rockets round to the red line and any modern sports bike will walk away from even a tuned impreza in a straight line - standard figures for mine are 0-60 2.2 secs and vmax of somewhere around 200mph. note i said straight line though - through the corners it can be different as has been noted on the last few flings....
  8. bought my sti new with ppp figuring it wouldnt need any mods but fitted a backbox for more noise, then saw a full system going cheap so even more noise, except it needed a remap of course... then the shocks failed, after the 2nd set lasted 5k miles i decided to get the cheapest coilovers i could which were a huge improvement now with the extra power and handling i was finding that when i did need the brakes i was hitting them hard and they were the weak link so after an unsuccessful try with uprated (apparently) discs and pads i managed to find a good set of 2nd hand ap calipers and discs which solved that problem so with the brakes and suspension working so well it seemed rude not to add a bigger turbo to exploit them - and now im at the point where im happy with the car it goes stops and handles the way ive always wanted, it doesnt use any more fuel or is any less useable day to day than standard apart from speed bump avoidance i never meant for any of this to happen but now i can finally stop spending on it, honest....
  9. very nice! good to see you back with another one
  10. was it a new fuel pump you fitted? if you havent had it mapped then possibly its overfuelling and the ecu's pulling the boost back? but those more knowledgeable than me should be along soon hope its an easy fix!
  11. cheers Peter - il drop the venison into you next time funny you should mention palm trees.....
  12. the mesh will get sprayed anthracite but also got something else il be trying - the old scoop back on, reverse of your look Davey - scoops so big as its a blob eye sti one, for some reason they were bigger than bug or hawk as standard, just watch for bonnet lift with the bigger scoop, hence the aero catches going on mine It was getting the chunks of venison removed from what was left of the wing and bumper Chris, small altercation with a deer one night
  13. well saturday finally saw the return of my deerly departed scoob - still a few wee bits to sort when subaru get their act together and the splitter arrives - and yes getting rid of the silver grater on the scoop is top of the list! but I didnt realise just how happy id be to have her back, paintwork is first class from the guys at RA and Im liking the carbon bonnet more than i thought i would
  14. Oh no! the Hatch claims another one only kidding, best colour for it too! sure you'l miss the hawk though, looks great with the spoiler and stickers!
  15. looks good mate! good old subaru - taken almost as long to get the bits for my car and still waiting on a deer search light!
  16. ive had no problems with chipping or peeling for the last 2 months..... but should change come saturday! then il let you know how carbon does
  17. wow! good going! after my little bump im dreading my renewal next month
  18. my BC's have been on over 3 years and no issues so i may have been lucky - next time il buy better but itl be 3 times the cost of the bc's for bilstein or ohlins, having had tein theyre not much better quality wise
  19. very very nice mate! braking will be awesome and would love to know how the suspension feels, bilstein or ohlins will eventually replace my BC coilovers once ive saved enough!
  20. well if you want to get on track safely can i direct you to the sidc national day at alford Myles should get my hands on my settings when im home at the weekend but dont know how much use as mine is lowered considerably lol but handles exactly how i want it - actually talked myself out of whiteline arb's as with the coilovers its as stiff as i really want a road car for my style of driving do know that my tyre wear is perfectly even across the tread though and doesnt eat tyres at all - can get about 12k miles from fronts and 18-20k from rears (and yes i know i should change all four together but i have to cut costs somewhere! )
  21. the copper grease not work then Martin?
  22. nice little haul lol online shopping is the devils own work although while my cars getting the bodywork sorted at ra i keep telling the guys there to add something else to the car, going to be a shock wheni pick it up and get the bill
  23. dont boost his ego any more, its hard enough to cope with him as it is only kidding, top effort from 'iron man' mcgowan again
