  1. wheel bearings! pah you big sissy, im still waiting on the insurance company to authorise the repairs..... :s
  2. like Ali ive had BC's on my car for over 3 years now and love them on a value for money basis and also i actually think the ride is better than OE stuff, but that could be me i went for them as the cheapest option after my 3rd set of standard failing within 20k miles, last set lasted 5k miles...... and you will notice a difference swapping even to new standards, car will be more settled in corners
  3. yea i was worried about my knob getting cold too so i got a half leather one - also find that once ive handled it a bit it warms up nicely
  4. Hi Martin, yea without PPP youl have 2 cats, one in the downpipe and one in the centre section, wouldve thought its probably a downpipe back exhaust on it so the centre section removed which would be ok without remap but worth getting that checked my car has the PPP fuel pump (all thats left of PPP lol) full roger clark motorsport decat 3" exhaust, panel filter, uprated turbo and remap - its not the fastest but puts a smile on my face
  5. nice choice - now make sure you get a blue one cos theyre the fastest! though they also attract deer.... type ra is the way to go if you can find one
  6. loving the scoop! makes a big difference to the car
  7. cough godspeed cough........
  8. dont do the wheels black!!!
  9. theres a car upholsterer in perth, same industrial estate as RA, think youd struggle to find a mcrae recaro in good nick at a decent price - reminds me,did you ever use your free service voucher?
  10. Remap really depends on what you mean by decat, if you have standard or ppp downpipe youl be ok without a remap although it will make the most of it, has your car got ppp on it? Panel filter will be fine for you, I'm still running one at 380 no problems. Cosworth also do a good one. Brembo discs with mintex 1144 pads and goodridge braided hoses was a great cost effective setup on mine, have a word with alum at as performance, great advice and prices. And don't ever go for drilled - dimpled or grooved is the way to go! And welcome along, whereabouts are you based?
  11. Think it depends on why your changing, if you really want a gb270 then its worth chatting to the garage, though they're car seems a bit steep if they give you a really good trade in it evens out. If your wanting something bigger better faster more then its got to be an sti of some flavour!
  12. if you want to keep the 17's i think k sport do an option that would fit under them, otherwise PF discs and pads all the way - ask Andy about the godspeeds he had on the badger for the fling last year, he'd had godspeed stuff before and was sure it couldnt be it that was the problem, a switch to PF soon convinced him and he binned the godspeed stuff even though it had only been on a few months. having tried Dels hatch with them they are exceptionally good - not quite as good as my AP's now theyre running right but less than half the cost of a new AP kit
  13. welcome back!! nice to see another old hand back and yep 04 sti's had rac trackstar as standard
  14. well ive gone from needing an mot to needing a bumper, headlight, wing and front end respray before the fling! how you ask, simple just add suicidal deer......
  15. youve taken that weight loss thing too far Graeme!!!
  16. looking good - werksat acrylic brings wr blue up a treat, been tempted to try other products but it works so well!
  17. days and counting to the Fling 2012! :D its like waiting for santa and the pussycat dolls to arrive on your birthday with the euro millions cheque - but better! still not too late to join in the fun for any newbies or anyone humming and hawing - i can confirm that ive already paid the big man to guarantee weather like we're getting just now so itl be an amazing few days and
  18. yea you wont find a lot of love for godspeed here.... try mintex pads with them or PF pads and discs for a huge improvement
  19. the weathers on order for the fling Myles could be pad deposits on the disc?
  20. wow, thread resurrection!!! so whats been happening to the golf then? and have you still got the same one? that must be almost a year, surely a record for you Ciaran???
  21. i believe RA were doing it for sidc members for 80 quid, takes 2 - 3 hours to do and if you ask nicely theyd even do it on a saturday failing that any decent bodyshop should be able to do that for you mate - o and welcome along
  22. hiya mate, Andy Forrest only does remaping - he doesnt fit parts or sell anything apart from turbos. if your in glasgow then the nearest i know personally is hypertech, theres also RA motorsport in perth and stevie whitson in edinburgh - all are really good guys and will give you advice and supply and fit all parts if your wrx is standard then a full exhaust system, uprated fuel pump, and remap is a good start - throw in a sti intercooler and sti injectors and you should see 300 ish bhp
  23. none left after the glasgow meet Andy - the badger on the other hand now has it everywhere.....
  24. afraid it sounds like the headgasket mate! get a sniffer test, have seen a compression test ok but sniffer showed hg well gone!
  25. i still reckon its got to be sti pink Scott
