  1. looks a nice clean one, dont recognise it but try asking Blair (supremeweb) or Dale (thefastone) as their aberdeen RO's past and present
  2. anyone heading up to this? always a good turnout and some great stages to watch, hopefully with snow on a few for added sideways action
  3. test drive the two, youl be convinced for what your describing id definitely go for the sti, theres no shortage of folks whove moved from a wrx or turbo to an sti but very few go the other way. if your going to do it you may as well go full fat also if you shop around youd be surprised at what youl pick up a 2003 blobeye sti for - there was a guy on here the other week asking about prices for selling his 70k miles 04 sti and general reply was about 6k
  4. i wonder how they get through the SVA when theyre imported? our lass's integra had hid's but no washers or self levelling do uk hawkeyes have hids then? they havent got washers have they?
  5. nice campaining Cathy, you on commission? g'wan g'wan g'wan Mr Mystery! come join us..... Gus, 3 years?? surely not? next youl be telling us youve taken it to more than 3 meets.....
  6. go for the sti, mechanically theres nothing in it between a bugeye or blobeye sti, its all down to looks although i should probably ask what youve got just now and what youl be using the car for? my thinking for getting an sti was that the money saved buying a wrx would soon be gobbled up by bigger spoiler, better brakes, more power which you get standard with the sti plus nicer interior,6 speed gearbox, better handling. although having said that the wrx is still a very good car and a bit softer, easier to live with every day - either one youl love them to bits as long as you pick a good one!
  7. hotel details are now in the first post in the events thread! but just to be sure, saturday night arrangements have been made with the Norseman hotel in Wick, private parking with public car park next door, 48 rooms currently available dinner bed and brekkie for £37.50 per person, contact them on 01955 603344 quoting impreza drivers club
  8. thats a fair enough point mate, its one of those personal calls like running a decat - technically you can get done but you'd be pretty unlucky for it to happen. and also that applies to the PIAA bulb, regardless of what current they draw if they put out more than 60w theyre illegal too id say forget about the piaa bulbs, i doubt theyre bright enough to justify the price tag. i reckon the options are either morette headlight conversion, piaa driving lamp kit or change the car. tbh the driving lamp kits tremendous but only on main beam, if your mainly bugged by dipped beam performance afraid your stuck with it hawkeye it is then
  9. nope, but then he was behind me and he has the benefit of being unhinged behind the wheel but yea there isnt much thats as enjoyable as a classic on a b road, thats why i still fancy another one - but i may need a bigger garage soon....
  10. what age of cars are you talking about? last uk turbo's were 220hp first wrx's were 240 last ones about 265, wrx's usually have aircon, bucket seats, nardi steering wheels and all round better specs if your talking a difference of 2-300 insurance then wrx is worth it, no doubt
  11. you forget im scottish - any discount is worth having
  12. cheers guys! aaah the good ol days when 240 was serious power!
  13. tried all sorts of bulbs in the past and just not worth it. il be getting an hid kit as soon as theres a group buy on the go - although i have got the piaa driving light set on mine which is a big improvement you can never have too much light! look forward to your feature Stu
  14. just to let you know i havent forgotten about accomadation - im working my backside off to try and get somewhere for everyone WITH parking at the hotel, which is the sticking point. but there will definitely be somewhere made available this week for you to contact - just dont want to repeat the indian from skye episode......
  15. whats the specs for a standard 93 wrx? it occurs to me that while people are looking after ra's and vltd's etc a plain old original wrx may become one of the rarest scoobs around - and im tempted by one ive seen
  16. um 18's about what i get with mine Glyn - what do you get??
  17. i notice litchfields are working on a stage 2 conversion to give over 200hp! something ive thought about myself - my blobeye sti will never leave me but it only comes out on sunny days or when i need cheering up
  18. theres a few good pubs in pitlochry, cant remember any names though! try victorias restaurant for dinner though, very good! hmmmm wel be about that weekend so a few drinkies would be fun hope your bringing the pressie to the fling Bobby, maybe some of the young uns can use it - reckon Del needs all the help he can get
  19. c'mon Paul - lifes too short get it on the road over summer! or flog it to me!
  20. but thurso's a long way from a ford dealer for the waranty claims on route not too mention having the wheels swiped off it - and thats just from the scooby boys have it confirmed that theres 2 98ron stations in thurso so we're fine with octane booster at worst scenario just need accomadation now - everyone got tents?
  21. also got sti 8 seats so seems a bit of a 'bitsa'
