  1. I've had the same problem, it was the fuel pump. It was easy for me to diagnose because I have a fuel pressure gauge. It gave out on me at a set of lights one day (only time my car has ever broken down) but at the time I didn't know if the lack of pressure was due to a gubbed pump, injector or fpr. Pulled the plugs to see if I had a cylnder full of fuel - nope. Swapped out the reg - still the same. I did the pump last because it was the biggest pita to do and because I could still hear it prime when I switched on the ignition. It would build a little pressure bit nowhere near what it should and then the pressure would drop away to zero withing a second or 2. Fitted an old pump and she fired right up. What type of fpr do you have, does it have a spare port to fit a pressure gauge? If so bang one on and rule out the fuel system as the symptoms make me think that will be the prime suspect.
  2. Will you still be taking it on the SIDC runs Pete? That should clear things up.
  3. Nice work. I'll drop some more off for you to do.
  4. JDM = Japanese domestic market, ie cars spec'd for Japan. I've had a UK and a JDM car. In standard spec they were nothing alike to drive.
  5. Paint or powder Craig? Or is that a silly question?
  6. Day one, phase one
  7. Road car = driven there. End of. I'm sorry but it does make a difference. If someone knows there car has to be driven home (hopefully) it will be treated differently on the track. Also many have more than half a tank of fuel to make sure they can play for a while and still make it to a fuel station afterwards. If someone wanted to make an extremely hardcore road car with one seat no interior or sound deadening and plastic windows etc I'd have no problem as long as it was driven to the track. A tax disc doesn't make a road car - using it on the road does.
  8. I'll wait to see it before I get excited, remember the cosworth scorpio
  9. I like them fast but also like them cheap. What were we talking about again?
  10. Hpertech, as mentioned, are close enough and get a lot of positive feedback although I've not used them myself. If you motor is scrap they'd be able to source a secondhand replacement and fit it where as a main dealer would simply open up the parts book and you'd have to pay for a brand new one and all the other bits and bobs that go with it.
  11. A main dealer will sort it for you alright but you'll pay through the nose. Much better to find a local specialist and get a couple of quotes.
  12. It's good to have options are both methods progressive?
  13. 2 of the high flow walbro's to a set of 1100's returning via a simgle sx 90 psi reg. 82% duty from memory. I always thought ecu managed n2o would be a dry system with the extra fuel delivered via the injectors and the wet systems stand alone, is this all out of date now?
  14. Now I'm glad I plumbed in a spare fuel line. I assume a third pump would also be required?
  15. Sorry to jump on your thead Chris. Andy - with 82% inj duty at present would I have enough head room to run any meaning gain? Also, any more likely to lift the heads?
  16. WTF!!!!!!! Looks like it's time to lift the bonnet again.

  18. I'm planning to be there alright. Don't think the gtr boys will be pleased to see me after the last time though. BTW Chris - 2.1 bar is an awful lot of boost on the turbo's you've mentioned. It'll do it but I'd be worried about lifting the heads and long (or short) term reliability. Have you chosen to run a low compression ratio?
  19. Need details on the mars bar (assuming it ever turns up) - fun, regular or king size? Would lso need to know if it had ever been in your pocket. Pictures would be helpful too.
  20. Not gonna sell. Spec - Model = Version 5 type r Body = Standard Engine = Not standard
  21. Not thinking of selling but more from an insurance valuation point of view. I know roughly how much it would take to build my car to the current spec but have no idea how much it would be worth if I were to sell it as is. Any idea what you'd expect or be willing to pay?
  22. The price of success is always less than the price of failure.
  23. Yes mate - gearbox is fixed. It was a simple job in the end but I had a mare getting hold of the right part. For the record it sheared the output shaft to the prop. Not bad going considering that I had the diff fully locked to send as much power to the front as possible. The part has been replaced and I have completed an exhaustive test run of 2 feet back and 2 feet forward. I need to have a proper shakedown and get moving on the other niggles before it's ready to start chasing 10's.
  24. Nice spec Chris. Sounds a bit familiar though
  25. ^^^ As long as the subaru is faster.
