First one then the other mate

You guys are keen. Don't think Crail opens till 10. 9 at the McD's at the bridge would be more like it.
-
Don't worry Steve, I'll have a bootful like the lat time. I fully intend to be driving mine home even if it's only in fwd like the last time.
-
Do we have a list of who's going to this - Nissans or Subarus?

Bring the trailer Andy, you might make a few quid Oh, and a laptop. And maybe some spanners too And any transmission parts you have lyng around And..............

Not so sure after seeing all the kids racing 125's at knockhill. A race licence maybe?

These can be a pig. Trick is to get it as clean as possible, jack up one side of the car to help stop oil pouring out. Use sealant and let it go off for a while before dropping it back own. Oh and don't overtighten and snap the bolts, they're made of biscuit.

I've always been told to start with the wheel furthest away from the master cylnder and work to the closest but Barry will have more experience.

Should be one of the more memorable mapping sessions. Hope you've had your ar$e dyno calibrated recently Andy. As for engine warranty Steve, I take it it won't cover 2.5 bar plus a 100 shot at 9k rpm?

Very, very nice. Couple of point though.... No headlamp wash on the jdm's thats not the original bumper I think the glass it tinted on the type r's, not a film added to them. Could be mistaken though. If in any doubt whether it's a 5 or a 6 then try to start it without pressing the clutch down. If it does it's a 5 or a 6 with an aftermarket ecu. One of the other telltails would have been the front splitter but as the bumper has been changed......

Yes - I've had the same happen to me. Drove down to Sommerset to buy an S2000. Looked good in the pics and despite direct questions about the condition I was assured all was well. When I got there I had to double check there wasn't another s2000 forsale as it was well rough. Did some checks on the engine and the oil wasn't even on the dipstick. Said he didn't have money to buy oil but obviously had enough to buy a new engine if it siezed. As me and my old man had driven all day through a snowstorm to get there I asked him how much he wanted - full askig price. When I said I brought the full asking price with me but for the car that was advertised not the one that was sat there he even admitted that the advert was misleading. To cap it all off he said if I did buy iy I'd have to come back for it as he needed it to go to work the next day. I told him he was a c0ck and left. Cost me and my dad a day and over £100 in diesel and service stations grub.

Ran my standard v5 block at 1.75 bar on a 20g with no issues. Not sure I agree with the fact the newer blocks are stronger, some of the boys with closed deck blocks may argue with that (mine was manufactured in 1992).

It drives fine Steve, you wouldn't notice it at all. Of course when you turn on the antilag there is even less point to having one. Ideally I would have one but as you know the pipework is so short there isn't a really a good place to fit one. If you want to see how it feels come and have a shot in mine.

Get those 8 pots on the scale.

TBH Chris thats the impression I got from you the last time. If I were you I'd get that sorted before doing any more work on the car. Might save some heartache in the long run. Plus, Steve is grey enough already. Gearbox is fixed (but not tested), spoiler is off and I've given it a wash. Oh, and the antilag is fixed too. Was gonna make a few more tweaks to it but have taken some of my own advice and held off on them to see what I'm gonna do with the car. At the moment it's fast enough, still reliable and perfectly usable on the road. I may just quit while I'm ahead and not take it any further. Actually was talking it over with the mrs the other week and said I fancied running it as is for a few years and then maybe giving it a full respray to get it looking good again and use it as a standard looking show car.

Chris - I like a nuts car as much as the next guy but you have to draw the line somewhere, especially if it's a road car. Don't get caught up chasing figures and trying to be top dog. There will always be someone with deeper pockets, bigger balls, more screws loose etc and to try and compete may end up with you taking the car that one stage too far. Find the level thats right for you and stick at it. It's better to have a slower car that you're happy with than a really fast (but high maintenance) one that you're not. That said if this is what you really want then go for it my son. Just don't go there in baby steps as it'll cost more in the end.

^^^^ Welcome to the newbie. If you're not sure of anything just ask Oh BTW, is your car coming to Crail this time?

I just googled "Glasgow vinyl wrap" and it was one of the first hits. Guy is Glasgow based and has a picture of a merc ml done in satin on the front page of his web site. I think £1k is me rounding it up as well, could have been a bit lower. -

I love this look. I've considered it many times. Best option seems to be a vinyl wrap and then when you get fed up with it, or want to sell you just peel it off. I got it priced and £1k is enough to get a professional job. If I wasn't trying to keep the car looking standard I'd defo have it done. -
I've said it before, I'm gonna say it again..........

Just thinking about Crail Chris. All these skyline pals of yours, do they know what your car is capable of? We could be doing with the element of surprise but I think my card may be marked now so it's over to you or someone else this time.

If it's fuelling then it'll be a bad connection somewhere. As John says first thing to see is if it has a spark as that will rule out a load of things.

So how did the test drive go? Did it feel like you thought it would? Congrats btw.
