  1. hmm stopping over on Sunday night is an idea. I've got Monday off work and it will be a lot less stress getting up the road if the journey home is split. Will need to see what the money situation is like nearer the time. I dont think there will be a problem getting accommodation for the Sun night so wont book anything just now.
  2. sparkly I love that colour. wanna come and do my roof... I cannae reach it
  3. Scottish Scoobies run through the highlands clicky for details
  4. oh and hope the Elgin and Aberdeen boys can make it. can look at an alternative meeting point for you guys to save you traipsing all the way down to Perth to head back up the road again
  5. I'm doing a run through the Highlands on Sunday 4 May - see thread in Events here Had thought about doing it in April but forgot I'm busy in the first 2 weekends and therefore will be skint in the last 2 weekends lol May is a busy month: - Mon 5th May is a bank holiday - Sun 11 May is the Scottish Motorshow at Knockhill - Sat 17 May is the SIDC track day/Time Attack - Sun 25 May is the Jim Clark Rally as well as a 1/4 mile in Crail - Mon 26 May is another bank holiday Have decided on the 4th as most folk will have been paid and its a fairly quiet day event-wise. It is however a public bank holiday so guess we'll have to cross our fingers that the caravans decide not to go up north that day check your diaries, get mods fitted and car back on road, start saving petrol money, check football fixtures to see if your team is playing, check that its not the wives birthday/family anniversary and come out for a nice drive through the Highlands cheers Imy
  6. jings another one selling the car Understand about finding it hard to sell but these cars are expensive to run. Hope things work out for you, regardless of what you decide to do with the scoob. One thing for sure... you'll miss the burble and the power. Good to know you are sticking around, not enough females post on here as it is
  7. its also worthwhile doing a search for the keyword "insurance" - the topic comes up quite often. Scoobynet has a dedicated Insurance sub-section in their forum, plenty of advice and recommendations there too.
  8. aye, with all the chicken salads Jim's been eating he's slimmer than DCI Lee
  9. yeah yeah ok...... you guys were right....... how naive was I lol "I want it mapped for 95 ron" she said "I'm happy with it as it is" she said i've been corrupted by the flat-four-burble and am addicted to the thrill of driving these cars oh and the yellow Magic Trees smell nice
  10. hey, couldnt work out from your post if you were looking to meet on Monday or Tuesday... I'll be through in the East tomorrow afternoon (Mon 18th) and could try and swing by to show your family a classic/ rare scoob... I drive a v2 STi RA V-Limited with the signed McRae/Ringer seats.
  11. well I've resisted the "need more power" bug and its sister "must look pretty" bug but have been bitten by the "handling bug" and got anti roll bars fitted and the geometry done. not had a chance to take it for a proper hurl yet but initial feeling is the car needs less steering input and feels more 'held together' going round corners. thanks to George cusco kid for supplying and fitting the front and rear arbs for me thanks also to the boys at Extreme Motorsport for doing the geometry - I went for the fast road settings. Grant had won the 'free geometry setup' prize at the RR day Marty organised last August and kindly gave it to me to use on the RA. and an early thanks to JohnS for donating the free KH trackday prize for the Aberdeen Santa Cruise last year..... i've claimed it and am booked on track for 15th March. with the bargain ESL live map AndyF did for me too I'm ready to rumble woohoo need to go on a run soon, who's up for a Sunday jaunt around the Highlands in April??
  12. had a nosey in this car at the Central meet. looks good and it is totally kitted out for the track. I'll look forward to chasing you round KH Paul dont think i'd get a shot of it though, my wee feet couldnt even reach the pedals (drivers seat is welded in) lol
  13. hmm perhaps I dont push the car hard enough or dont know any better but I'm happy with the way my RA handles guess I wont know if it can be any better until I do it, eh? got droplinks and anti roll bars fitted already, and getting the geometry done because I've been told to do it! (I'm preparing for the track day on the 15th March)
  14. looks good though while I was waiting for thread to load I was picturing a heart-shaped tail pipe for some weird reason
  15. I'd be interested to hear what you guys think. What benefits are there in getting the geometry done?
