About TURBOEDD

  1. I thought that, its like any car then look after it and all will be well. I like big turbo's and big power, and could be tempted, my s3 if for sale so the money from that could fund some serious mods, but like you say it will break and i cant be bothered with that. I've wanted a type r for ages and this is the first time i've been in the position to get one. Hopefully i find a nice example for a decent price. cheers
  2. all going well and assuming the boy is honest, the car should be sound, and if i get it for decent money then i can spend some money on it fixing it and maybe even have a poject on my hands. I assume these type r are hard work to keep good? I had a uk turbo 2000 and it cst me a fortune to keep serviced, and in petrol, hopefully the type r aint to different to that.
  3. thanks for the advice, i'll put that to him and see where we go from there, hopefully all goes well and i can add to my growing collection of cars. cheers
  4. The boy was looking for about £4500, i said it was abit to rich, would it be an insult to offer £3ooo, as for condition he said it was near mint, with no rust, dents and the engine and box were fine. I like the car and if i can get it for near £3000 i'd be happy. I assume viewing is essential? cheers
  5. I was thinking along those lines. I have been looking at a 97 type r, its only done 45k miles but it has no tax, MOT no service history, it needs a new rear diff and underseals, how much should i expect to pay for an example like this? it seems like a good one. cheers
  6. Im wanting to know the going rate for a good one of these, mods or no mods. It would be a late v4 perf a v5-6 cheers eddie
  7. i know stewart cracking guy certainly knows a thing or two, im putting the feelers out to find out what is possible, i spoke with stewart about importing a impreza type r but just didnt have the cash at that time. cheers for the replies
  8. were would be best to look and make some enquires? im looking for something cheap and to use as a project car.well thats the plan
  9. im thinking of buying a crashed impreza from japan, very minor damage or an engine failure.im wanting to know where to look for such a thing? also can anyone tell me the pros and cons of what im thinking of doing? cheers eddie
  10. had the car over there yesterday, running rough, all sorted now, maf was the problem. nice and cheap, and easily sorted. some good advice to. cheers again
  11. cheers for the replies, hopefully i'll get a cheap quote from someone.
  12. im needing to renew my insurance this month and i got a quote from my insurer which was more than i paid last year som im going to shop about. im looking for some recommendations. cheers eddie
  13. cheers for the reply,i'll get hunting for 2 pots and take it from there, hopefully it aint to difficult a job to do.
