Ally, thanks for helping establish Glasgow as a region of Scottish Scoobies and credit to you for realising it is time to step aside all the best on future endeavours (work and home life). hopefully we can get a volunteer to take on the role, I too will support them in any way I can. imy

yeah i get it too. i rarely bother to make eye contact with them now although i can pretty much guarantee the "point and look" along with them saying "its a bird driving!" when i 'am' in the right mood and look over at them

hi Gla meets are the first Thursday evening of every month, Thur 5th Nov, at 1900 at the Harvester (old Brewers Fayre) Hillington the runs have finished so we head into the Harvester for something to eat and a blether. our charity run, Santa Cruise, usually takes place on a Sunday in December. We raise money and buy presents to deliver to Yorkhill Sick Kids hospital and have been doing it for a good couple of years now. CLICK HERE to see last year's photos This year's event hasnt been organised yet, tho I suspect things will start moving soon. hope you can make it, we're a pleasant bunch imy

Stewart, send me a goat with your email address, I'll need to send you an invite to join the group then you should be able to upload your pics. that goes for anyone else that's got pics from the Gathering sitting on their PC gathering err dust lol edit to say stewart, you are the first member, yay
-
right ok, I've created a Group in Flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/mcrae-gathering/ I dont have any contacts so how do I invite people, eg Stewarty Boy, so he can add to the photo pool?
-
what if I set up a Flickr account for you to upload them onto and then link it from the Gathering website? that way folk are welcome to add their own collections and it can be accessed through a central site. not sure how long it will take to 'bulk upload' a hundred odd pics onto Flickr, there's a feature in Photobucket that lets you do it... could just open up a Photobucket account and make it public

Dale, i need photographic evidence that your car is clean

micra_wrc replied to 4Hero's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Neil, take it you've sold the hawkeye. all the best with wherever life takes you and the new experiences with your son. dont be a stranger and pop in to the forum once in a while, I like your posts and photos -
sorry i didnt get a chance for a chat Col, the Vision retail stand was mega busy on Friday night totally blown away with the new Corgi and Bamber merchandise and well chuffed with how much we sold over the 2 days. nice to catch up with fellow SIDC'ers over the weekend and many thanks to Dale for helping us pack up and transport some gear up the road. my highlights include speaking to Ken Block, Holly McRae helping us in the stand on Fri night and Grant getting the Vision van and trailer stuck in the field when leaving the service area on Sat and needed a tow from a 4x4 also got my Subaru and Ford Bamber cars and they look great

thats just crap Guiness World Record werent the easiest or cheapest organisation to deal with but I'm going to follow this up. here's a scan of the certificate that we were presented at Warwick, the "1,068" number was based on an estimated sketch and we were told we'd get a revised one stating "1,086" as thats the number of subarus that made up the mosaic on the day. we were also told that the main criteria for entering the printed book would be a photo showing the record attempt and we definately got that for sure.

well done Gus for organising our stand for this event, we were an impressive sight and had such a laugh with a great bunch of people thanks to Cathy for letting us stay over, bet you'd never seen anyone so taken with a real fire before many thanks to Tam, Brian and Paul for bringing their stoves and the food, and for letting me have some rolls and sausage/bacon over the 2 days it was a great weekend and a cracking venue for us. great to see Concorde up close, it was so majestic and i couldnt believe the cabin was open for visitors to walk through. glad the weather was dry but wind chill factor was biting - tried to stay wrapped up but my face is sore guess i should clarify that Gordon was in his Trans Am

good stuff, knew you've been looking for a while. hope you enjoy the car

Rip Colin Thoughts Are Still With You 2 Years On
micra_wrc replied to corsa's topic in Scottish Scoobies
aye, hard to believe 2 years have already passed since the accident. the first year must have been awfully hard for the families involved, especially with the tributes and memorial events that have taken place. this 2nd year appears to have transitioned into something new and fresh, with the launch of the Colin McRae Vision charity, his new look website, the DiRT2 game, model cars and toys, among other stuff. the Vision logo, with the sun appearing over the mountains, is a lovely image and really captures the spirit of new horizons and of moving forward imy -
my copy arrived this morning and was a bit surprised at the Falkirk Wheel article, there was no main picture and a lot of space taken up by describing the Wheel
