  1. have a look at the wee dispenser units on your bonnet, there could be grime blocking the holes. wiggle something sharp, like a safety pin, in them to check.
  2. Merry Christmas everyone treasure the moments with your family and friends, my thoughts go out to those that can't spend this festive period with their loved ones imy
  3. lol at James, glad that you were in the scoob. roads are sheet ice around my way and I'm not intending on going out at all over the next couple of days. I've cancelled all my planned visits to friends and am in festive lockdown mode, we've even managed to get our stocks of food, booze, computer games and books
  4. Grant says there's snow in Lanark Glasgow city centre is dry and sunny!
  5. I got a Friend Request from her, her profile says she stays in China and only signed up that morning can't remember which day, think it was Monday check your Friends list if you've got it set to Accept automatically 1.scoobykev 2. green goblin 3.kennyuk300 4. micra_wrc
  6. John, is that a random fact that you happen to know off by heart?!
  7. good job, cars always look great after you've worked your magic great for me, I won your winter detail prize at Peter's night. I'm sending you a goat to chat about this off line, I reckon my 13 year old RA will give you a challenge
  8. great turnout and a fabulous effort by everyone that attended. the cars looked brilliant and certainly gave a festive feel for the day. got a lot of smiles and waves from passers by in town and well done badbaz for the loud pops and bangs in George Square the hospital staff were well chuffed with the 4 cage loads of presents we handed over it felt ace to do something nice now it feels like christmas!
  9. sounds similar to what mine was doing and problem traced to the battery not holding a charge. I only got the battery in May and think its the first time that both Grant & CraigD heard of a Bosch battery failing... ever
  10. nah Toys R Us are notoriously bad for being stingy and don't give a crap about charity. I got the "you need to contact head office 3 months ago" line when I tried 2 years ago.
  11. no the kids in the wards don't see us deliver the presents. we have 2 Santas on the day - one to pose for photos at the entrance to the hospital with the presents and the cars - one to go up to the ward and hand out presents to the kids. The ward staff know we're coming and will have a list of kids in their care - that way we can pick out the presents to suit the patient profile. We usually get asked by the staff if you want to go up with Santa, but its heart wrenching stuff as some of the kids are very ill and obviously those of us that have a cold/sniffles are discouraged to go. The majority of us head to the canteen to wait and regroup. I've heard that the kids faces light up when Santa walks in with a bag of presents and the parents are v. appreciative for what we've done, but I've chosen not to go to the wards. Like you I'm a big softy and can't bear seeing it. there have been kids that happen to be coming into/leaving hospital when we're there and usually get a present and a photo with Santa. have a look at last year's thread for pics and stories and wow! £2,000 raised in donations already good stuff everyone
  12. we deliver the presents to the nursing staff and they decide how to divvy it up. It normally depends on which wards have patients in over the holidays and also profile of patients (boy/girl and age group) for that particular ward.
  13. good stuff. what goes around...
  14. wow we're going to have to start the raffle draw during the starters to get through that little lot
  15. had me going there good luck with the sale
  16. agree with all the posts so far sorry you feel you have to sell the Patriot Cal but your wee family has grown and it sounds like you are ready to make the move towards the sensible family car hope you do continue to post here, I've always liked reading what you have to say and thanks for the mention in your initial post though the days of organising club runs are in the past for me, I've no longer got the motivation to do them. imy
  17. me too, got a discrete knocklink from Wuz on here, he had soldered extra wiring on it. hid the box behind the dash and fed the LEDs into the top bit of the dash, same as the pic above. I didnt want the car covered in gauges, boxes and dials and stuff. it was one of the first mods Grant told me to get while I was saving for a remap. the first green bulb is dimly on all the time and have had it occassional flicker up to the 1st amber when accelerating hard. only had the red go off once and that was due to a combination of bad batch of Tesco 99, accelerating mid-range in 5th with 2 passengers and a fully loaded boot. mind the engine shut down kinda told me something was wrong as well baz, think its only one make and mine cost under £100 from memory
  18. Grant and I will be manning the Vision retail stand at Stirling services on Friday afternoon/evening and all day Saturday. We're located near the Rally HQ, behind the Vue cinema. This is the only area where entry is free of charge, come along and say Hi if you're in the area.
  19. 5k Santa Dash around George Sq is happening on same day Winterfest site this clashed with us last year too and think our route to Yorkhill had to go through the Tunnel to avoid this.
  20. aye Gordy, morrettes are better than the standard lights but been told that HID ones are brighter than morrettes
  21. kev, jonboy, any more details on this? make, fitment etc am thinking of replacing the morrettes on the RA with HID lights, am finding that I'm more nervous driving at night cos I can't see that well with the morrettes now that its so dark...
