Great pics Marky, pleased you managed to get a picture of Grant polishing L555BAT - he was at it non stop over the last 2 days. Colin's cars are probably the only ones you'll see him cleaning and polishing great to see those that visited the Vision stand, it makes a difference seeing a friendly face in the crowd. and many thanks to those that bought t-shirts and raffle tickets from us there was a rather dapper and well dressed fella at the stand yesterday, with a wee camera man and sound man in tow. started chatting to him in the hopes that he'll buy some gear. Managed to sell him some raffle tickets and it wasnt until he walked away and we looked at the raffle book stubs that we realised it was Jay Kay from Jamiroqui he's quite small in real life, just a tad taller than me!

hee Gus I can actually hear your old brain cells ticking

yes its "just" a car but to those that knew it, seen it, heard it, it is more than that. its hard to describe how significant it is to this club and what it means to those that know its history.

was sorry when I heard a scoob went on fire and gutted to find out it was the Fat Boy not the kind of thing you want to happen to a friend, especially since you've invested so much in this special car. Glad that you and your passenger got out safely, hope you cope with this ok and that the aftermath gets sorted quickly can't imagine how you feel just now. imy x

I did but was too feart to say anything in case Grant started to look at the steep drops down a stoney mountain Baz and Pete, great pics there, a perfect reminder of how rugged the terrain is

one Highland fling once a year works for me, it gives me something to look forward to after a bleak winter and brings in the summer season quite nicely. I understand that the May date might not suit some folk and there's nothing to stop another 2 day event taking place later in the year, but I doubt I'll be able to afford to go to 2 fuel-thirsty weekends. although I'm such an event-addict I'll probably find some way to go to them a 1-day run and BBQ during a weekend worked well in the past, our runs got a good turnout. I really liked the hotel and the roads we did so voted for the same again. Plus Applecross is such a renowned driving road, we should make use of the fact that its on our doorstep and make it an annual pilgrimmage

patience my son, he' working on it you're antsy cos you know you were in front of us and will be on the footage Its proving a tad difficult uploading a 30 minute 5GB clip, he's had to split it into 3 mini clips and do them individually.

2 Updates, 4 May 2010 Update 1 - 'Vision' charity karting success The Vision entered 2 teams for the annual Yorkhill Children’s Foundation Go-Kart Grand Prix, and the event raised £12,000 This was a 2 hour endurance race at the Scotkart indoor karting arena in Cambuslang. Advised by Jim McRae, ex Suzuki British Superbike rider John Crawford captained Team 1 with team members Stevie Brown, David Bogie and David Wilson. Team 2 was made up of Jo Roy and Craig Dickson, as well as Craig’s dad Graham and his friend David MacLellan. Team 1 seemed to pick up black flags, time penalties, warnings of ‘carving up’ the opposition and overtaking manouvres during a yellow flag. However, these tactics seemed to work, as they finished in 1st place. Team 2 behaved a bit better and finished in 3rd place after starting in 7th. Update 2 - Subaru and the “Vision” Join Forces to Help With Emergency Response Car Subaru have donated a Subaru Forrester 4 wheel drive car to complement the newly equipped specialist Paediatric Intensive Care ambulance for Yorkhill that benefited from a donation earlier this year. The Forrester will act as an Emergency Response car to be used in situations where the ambulance is not available, not fast enough or not required. A full go-karting race report and more details of the Forrester can be found in this Link here. Imy

good videos there Andy, the Applecross hairpins look different from your angle! couldnt see the old dear Andy. We had passed one in a pink coat that looked a bit surprised by us all, wonder if its the same one?
-
we passed a cyclist on our 1st run through, he was whooping and cheering as we passed him. We saw him on our return leg and he had made good progress, was coasting downhill with a grin on his face

there happened to be "Historic Commercial Vehicle Road Run" from Inverness to Ullapool at the same time as us, Didn't see them on the road but they were parked up at Ullapool pier when we took a walk down. this is the only car that I took a picture of, I like it and this is the queue for lunch today, the blue jacket brigade

don't know how you managed to start the weekend with one female and finish with two

my pics are on Tommos thread. what a way to start the summer season an amazing weekend with fabulous company, excellent roads, perfect weather (only had 3 rain showers and a hail shower) and quiet roads. Many thanks to Dave and Al for organising this weekend, I think it improved on last year's Skye run. The hotel was excellent, facilities were great, food was brill and the bed was comfy. Well done Dave for getting us such a good group rate, I told the woman at checkout that they'll probably get some repeat visitors from our group. That Applecross road is crazy, though I can't believe how narrow the road got, plus with no barriers, the steep drop down the rocky mountain seemed too close at some points. From what I saw, the quality of driving was great and I think we got nods, thumbs up and co-operation from other road users. Very happy with the event, don't think many would disagree if we used the roads + format again for next year. Imy

Grant had decided to film the weekend and we started on Saturday morning with 4 cameras, 3 mounts, numerous tie clips and sticky pads. He changed locations of the cameras at every stop, some of the placements of cameras were ingenious! but, this was the view I had for one of the stages We transferred the raw footage after Day 1 and I must say the films are amazing. There was a slight mishap near the end of Day 2 when the super-strong mount fell off after both n/s tyres hit a rut. This was how it looked before it fell... this was me checking after hitting the rut, we were still moving at the time... I couldn't lean out the window because of the harnesses so had to stick my hand out and take a picture we managed to find the camera and mount on the verge. The camera was damaged but memory card seemed intact, so hopefully we've not lost the recordings from today. imy
