  1. Can someone explain how i can get the smilies to work? I know Stephen told me it was something to do with my PC, but i can't remember what it was, nor how to fix it?
  2. Cheers Del/Peter. Lovely car you have there mate. Ment to ask what kind of exhaust you have though? I liked the completely straight centre.
  3. All agreed....aye! I'd run an STi a lot harder for longer than a P1. As i'll always say, the standard ECU is a great thing, it's just the guy using it that isn't always. Lol.
  4. Totally agree about the gentlemans agreement, but that doesn't mean to say that ALL of them were above the stated figure either. Some are good, some are bad. Second point i've not heard of and not sure that i understand the way you've worded it? Surely if these so called "brockets" brought the fuel up to Jap levels, then it shouldn't pop if as you say, the owner is using SUL? These things are gimmicks. They are all over Ebay with no reports to back them up. I'll not trust a lot of things about Subaru's, because most are myths and no hard facts are shown. Solid rear bulkheads etc etc, eh Gavin?
  5. P1 i consider to be different though mate. Remember, we all accepted that an STi will decrease power when it comes over here, due to fuel etc, but it is still quoted that the P1 is 280hp. How so? If they are the same, with no ECU mods done, then they shouldn't get the stated hp IMHO. I've heard of more P1 in comparison to STi 5/6's going pop. Or maybe you just hear more about the P1's.
  6. Those were the days of plain old Optimax though.....roll on the V-Power.
  7. It is Peter, yer.
  8. Depends on what your other bit and bob's are, but just a downpipe, no. Standard ECU's are great.
  9. No worries. Just remember to soak the oil filter before you install it and crank the car over a couple of times, before firing it up, to get the oil pressure right up.
  10. People call me a p**sy of a driver. I've seen the damage more than enough, so i tend to look at the future more than the moment. Well said Alan.
  11. 4.5 litres all in.
  12. Lol, i organised a group buy on these not too long ago! Might take one or two if you get another GB going though. No worries Peter/cyp_rock.
  13. Cheers Stephen. Dunno what i'm running tbh. Computers just aren't my bag. My oil temp sensor has been and always will be placed where you have yours...above cylinder 3. The 2.5's are well known to run hotter than the 2 litres, so it's no surprise you only seen up to 115 on a trackday.
  14. FFS. Somone wanna explain the deal with quotes and smilies to me?! They were working fine a while ago?
  15. Lol indeed. Personally, i wouldn't expect a road car to ever need an oil cooler, only a car that gets used on track and such likes, where you can be on throttle and high revving for a lot longer. I know when i had the RA, i never ran the thing as hard on the road, as i did at knockhill.
  16. Chris has got it right. If i were you Peter, there is no harm in fitting the stat. AlanG always used to say to drill your OE stat, but for all the cost of a Zerosports, it isn't money thrown away IMHO. Oil and coolant work together in keeping the overall temps lower. Oil temp above 120 degrees is getting serious, but i do know of people getting to this temp and not bothering with an oil cooler....and it is their opinion and not just about not caring. These temps, you won't get on the road. Too many things have you going slow, ie: other road users, roads you don't know well enough, weather conditions and the missus. I used to see 115 degrees oil temps with the 2.5 quite easily. Since i fitted the new turbo and thermostat, i have seen an absolute max of 105 and that was including the day of mapping. The stat has dropped the coolant temp by circa 10 degrees overall too.
  17. I'd be surprised if he see's the oil temps getting too high if it's only to be used on the road, Jamie. IMHO, the money could be better spent elsewhere. An uprated thermostat will help oil and water temps enough.
  18. Lol, no worries Frank. [] As for the tilt kit, all you need is some washers and longer bolts. Nothing mega.
  19. Perfect straight fit with the V5/6 IC, but not worth the money mate. I'd stick with your original IC, but get yourself some Samco hoses and a tilt kit for the IC.
  20. STi 17" wheels will fit yes, but not all 17" wheels fit. You need to be careful of the offset.
  21. Same man Wuz. Goes by Imprezaturbs.
  22. Copy and paste it and it will.
  23. Contact Andy on here... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Immortal-Performance-Online
