  1. Andy. It sounds like a great idea. Phil. Do we have any timescale for the new software? I ask because it is such a big issue and everything else is being stacked up behind it. At the EDN/ West Lothian meet last night there were some very good ideas popping up and it would be good to keep the momentum going. I know it is a huge undertaking and it is taking more time than expected. it would be good for the rest of the membership to see some light. Good news about he flyers BTW!
  2. Knockhill have issued a news statement news Not sure of the veracity of the statement yet. Will post when I know more. If they had made this statement at the time of the cancellation perhaps they could have avoided some of the bad feeling. It is not a way to run a business.
  3. Sod em! There is talk of a Knockhill boycott over their attitude! At the moment I wouldn'y pi** on them if they were on fire!
  4. Lots of unhappiness in the world oF Scottish Tarmack rallying. We have been trying to get some info from KH but the silence has been deathly. I have resorted to posting on their website. knockhill forum
  5. Just sent a email and I would ask you to do the same. Knockhill contact
  6. Just got some news that has made my blood boil. The Scottish Tarmack Rally Series had arranged to do 3 rallies at Knockhill in return they were going to arrange to tarmac a couple of sections of the outfield. "It has been agreed with Knockhill that the money that would normally have been paid for the venue WILL be reinvested into tarmacing the outroads, eventually giving us a full tarmac venue that we can use and considering we are losing tarmac venue's all the time, we have to do something" AML-strc organiser "Right, I have been up for another meeting at Knockhill this morning with Knockhill and the tar guy, the bit we need to tar is around 800m2 so the cost is around £18k and the cut from the back straight to the rally school will be a bit more (£2k-£4k). As time is marching on and we need this to work, we have moved the November date to March 11th, so the events will now be as follows; 1. December 27th 2. February 4th 3. March 11th The mileage has yet to be worked out but the entry fee will be £200 per event which includes a £5 donation to the marshal's fund as per normal, we need at least 80 cars to make this work and if we can prove to Knockhill that this can work and that we really want to do this, maybe we can do the same next year and get even more done. I have now cancelled my holiday over the festive season, so now it's up to you guys, so get in touch please. " AML-strc organiser As you can see a lot of work has been put into this and I know people were planning to compete. the cars were being prepared and the money found for entries. However this morning Angie (AML) received a phone cal saying that Knockhill have cancelled the series. No reason was given. everything was in place and they just decide to arbritrarily cancel. So tell me is this the way to run a business? Is this a way to support scottish grassroots motorsport? Just who the hell do they think they are? I am absolutely livid and I am about to state my displeasure to the Knockhill website. Absolutely incandescent!

  8. I would love to m8. I marshalled on the Killarney historic in 98 and had a complete blast. They love their rallying in ireland. It is a bit too far ahead in time for me and I have to persuade the wife to get on a ferry. I would reccomend it to anyone though.
  9. Andy. You are not speaking for me and I disagree almost 100% with your last post. I don't know about your region but from my point of view things are the complete opposite. I am sure that Del differs too. As for the aforementioned "sniping" I thought that the last 3 months have been the smoothest since Scottishscoobies began. Certainly things are ticking over nicely and some new ideas are popping up all the time.
  10. Good luck with the marshall search John. 2 SIDC members made it to th Kingdom stages at Crail. It seems that despite subaru's rally pedigree and the fact that the events are full of scoobs competing rallying and motorsport is a poor relative to 1/4 mile. Can't make it myself but I would urge everyone to get out and support local motorsport.
  11. well you can actually.... the event was won by John marshall in a Scoob after a close fight with Tom Morris in a 6R4 and the Rintoul brothers in an Evo 7
  12. where are you m8?
  13. It was a good event Gumball. Pity so few SIDC members thought it worthy of a visit! Good to meet you Col. Did you have a look at the pics I took on the other Crail Stages thread? Stay in touch and i will let you know about local motorsport events. crail pics
  14. Hello Nightowl. So you got my old wagon eh. I had 30k of good fun and service from it. It wasn't kept the cleanest but it was kept well serviced. AS others have stated I am a very sensible driver and apart from the strut brace it was kept standard. it is certainly fast enough to lose your licence so watch those limits m8. can be very easy to forget how fast you are going if you are not used to a scoob turbo although with your new box that might not be a problem. hope to se you at a Fife meet soon. Some pics Alford SIDC 2004 Alness river pug tow
  15. Unlucky as it was a good event although we got a drenching at lunch time. The up side to that was that the track got very slippy and cars started spinning all over the place. So who were the Scoobs that were there? I saw at least 10 rumbling in to spectate in the morning. Some flyers would have been really handy. Pics at Crail
  16. drb5...Sory m8. The 15s you gave me are on the daughter's Legacy and looking quite sweet! Thanks again
  17. Superb day. Lots of scoobs about but very few SIDC apparantely. Some excellent pics so will post later..
  18. So it is going to be me meeting myself! Col and Pete: I take it you will be coming from the St Andrews side? No Fifers want to go to this? i will say again that it is the best event at Crail by a long shot.
  19. Bugger! Looks like a call out. Will have my new trooper on Sat. You can't miss it! Come and say hello.
  20. Know anything about dish-washers m8? pm me if you are interested in a wee job.
  21. A couple of days to go.
  22. How would your wife feel about the gigolo option? Commiserations about getting laid off mate
  23. Quality not quantity mate
  24. The 6th will be for resting after a hard day at Crail on the 5th. So I won't make that.
