Caz Hopefully we will get the chance to talk about this face to face. My background is in club motorsport and I have been competing in hose kind of events for over 20 years now. (Yes I am old). I didn't see the documentary about Crail. I have been going to Crail for the rallies for nearly 20 years now though both as a spectator and a competotor. I have never been to a 1/4 mile event and I have no desire to either. I have just done a quick poll from Thorntons' gossip queens and they haven't heard anything about a strip. There are a lot of new houses being built on the outskirts so I would imagine that land prices are going to be a bit competitive. Frankly it is just too close to a built up area IMHO. As for your point about younger people being senssible; it is not the sensible ones that cause problems in any sector. Did you know there is a rumour that Knockhill is building a drag strip and drift course? No offence taken and none offered. it is good to discuss things in a calm way

What the hell guys. My parents live in Thornton and I can tell you now there will be a hell of a fight if you try this. There is a problem already of people speeding up and down Strathore Road. (The one without the bumps BTW) and I have had an incident with one of the locals screaming his car up the 30 mph. If you thought the complaints about Crail were bad.... Where has this come from and why have the locals not been consulted? This is a small community of mainly older folks and young mothers. BTW I checked the site and I couldn't find anything about Thornton.

Easy there Hoss. Cal. I appreciate what you are saying but I think the problem is somewhat exaggerated. Can you understand that posts like yours, however well intentioned, can scare people off? Andywrx's response proves that point I think. It certainly is not the worst forum by a long shot. Should have seen the hassle I got on a fishing forum for eating a salmon. This is place is full of friendly folks who like scoobs and cars in general. that is all you need to know.

Firstly I would say that I wasn't at Crail yesterday and I don't know what the disagreement was about apart from what has been written here. What I am going to say is that several references to problems at meets. So I am going to say SPEAK FOR YOURSELVES please. I have been to meets at West Lothian, Aberdeen, Central and Fife where no such problems exist. I am also trying to build up the meets in Fife and reading your statements regarding problems at meets does not help guys. So please either qualify what meets and what problems or preferably deal with it out of the forum. Al had it exactly right a few posts back. Thanks. Peace and love from the Kingdom.

There were some references to speed cameras on the run to Crail last Sunday. I have never seen speed cameras on the East Fife roads east of Leven. Where were the ones you were talking about?

Oh come on! Reading maps is not that difficult. I would be happy to lead a group at a slower pace as I will have my wife with me but not at the quicker pace. (Looking like I will make it now). I know the roads pretty well too.
