  1. Will be a tarmac rally on the 4th Feb followed by another on the 4th March So who is up for seeing the good bits of Crail used?
  2. You going to blow the lid on Gerry's baby after all this time then Davie? Somehow I don't believe it. Consider me an interested party.
  3. Neebs...I have a problem. I was going to make the next meet the last Thursday of the month at the Snooty Fox but.... I don't think I will be around due to work. So I need a WILLING volunteer to host the meeting. It is not a big deal as the meets are very informal as the regulars know. Just gather the peeps up and get them settled down, introduce everyone and then just have a blether. If someone can take the mantle then we can start a meet thread and start a list. What do you say?
  4. Welcome to the club Brian! Are you going to make the rallies at Crail in Feb and March!
  5. If anyone fancies a go. ebay link
  6. There is a phrase, "quality not quantity." Not many people know that one round here.
  7. Paul...Sorry to say I can't make it. My motorsport commitments have to be slotted into my holidays because of my irregular work schedule and my days will be used for my autocrossing. I have been to an Irish rally before (Killarney) and I can tell everyone that the are fantstic with the post rally Guiness being the icing on the cake.
  8. The 4 off the line is the way the ANECC boys have always done it. Bear in mind it is times that count not placings otherwise it would be rallycross. As regards the licence situation, it is a little more complicated. The SIDC card will get you on a closed to club grade event if the SIDC is a member of a club assoc or is a club invited to the event. Otherwise you need a MSA licence. For autocross you need a Nat B non-race although the clubcross mighht be different as you can run them at closed to club level I think. Costs for autocross are the cheapest in motorsport. You do need space and a trailer though. £40 for an event £35 for a licence, £30 a tyre that last forever. £15 of gas for the event. Best value motorsport there is! So if someone wanted to run a scoob. you need a car, a seat and harness, a handheld extinguisher, a suit and a helmet. Some local events need high level brake lights. Strip it out and secure your battery with yellow tape for the earth and that is it. Cages are not mandatory although I would recomend it. Home made is good enough. So a bit of work is required.
  9. autocross videos for those who want to see what it is about
  10. Are you going to run your events this time? I took holidays to do your event last year only for you to cancel it because you only had 9 entries. I applaud you coming on the forum to plug the events and get some new blood but this lot are too much on the shiny car side for autocross. Indeed I reckon some folks spend more on polish and numberplates than I spend on autocrossing in a year. So do you have venues planned and can you tell me the clubcross rules as I don't think I am eligible.
  11. Thanks Russ. will give it a try. thanks for giving Yvonne the tax help. bloody DVLA
  12. I did try Keith Michaels and he was more expensive than Egg. Will try the others though. Does anyone have any idea what a standard exhaust would do to the mapping? Thanks guys
  13. Not to do with the sound but the insurance and I can't get cheaper. Due to the circumstances we are talking about a HUGE amount of money. The insurers DO consider the PPP as a modification and charge 50% more because of it. The only obvious modification is the exhaust so if I remove that it will be back to WRX 300 standard spec.
  14. OK. Insurance companies are scum so can anyone tell me what would happen if I removed the Prodrive box off my 05 WRX PPP and replaced it with a standard one? This is a very serious consideration at the moment.
  15. Double somersault and drive away. Somersaults
  16. Peter...Why not go for some "proper" fish. Fish Even some Earn graylinggrayling I will be out with the 15 footer next week hunting "big" fish.
  17. Spooks...Totally agree with you about rushing. Events like this can't just be thrown together and some people are showing the impatience of a 2 year old. gumball is right about there being a good start here and I am sure we can build on that. if we are going to do this we have to do ir right because it costs so damn much for an event like this. Solidarity Scott!
  18. The Fife Scoobs are a friendly little bunch and very open. Hope to get some meets organised later this month
  19. Thanks guys. I have been offered space from a pal who is setting up but I don't know what I need.
  20. Sorry neebs. I am in wettest Dorset and I think the place is sinking. i am running around in a Corolla diesel and I will be working over New Year The Joys of Wytch farm and BP.
  21. Looking to set up a website and I have no idea. I want enough space and bandwidth to put up maybe 15 mins of video and a fair few pics. Can anyone give me some help?
  22. Your point is what? I used to rally a Mk1 1300 Escort so I have an inkling of what you are talking about. Didn't spend too much time sideways with that beacause I ran good Dunlop racing rubber and 110 bhp (at wheels)just wasn't enough to spin them in the dry. Had to keep it clean for good times. Loved to drive it though because it was so damn positive and could stop on a sixpence.
  23. It could have been a lot worse Ian! The photoshop could have come out.
  24. Not me. I have to go to Dorset on the 29th to do some work.
  25. We are going to need a lot more peeps if this is to run.
