  1. Wow. Blew some spiderwebs away. My name is Zeo and I own an electric car now!
  2. Back in the UK but I am burning the black stuff in a RWD Panzerwagon.
  3. Still no one about eh? Anyone got a cheap car for sale?
  4. Hey. It is hard work building momentum! Anyway me and Mrs Z are in Thailand this week while I handle some nukes. No scoops spotted here at all.
  5. drb5...Congratz. I am on grandchildren now. Got 4 of them! beastie...My company are the same although we managed to complicate things by trying (and failing) to acquire a competitor. Hoping to drag out my time to 25 years but I reckon it is 50/50 unless oil manages to hold on. I had heard Perth (OZ) has been devastated over the last year.
  6. Not too bad DRB5. (Jeez you have dragged me back). How is business? The oil industry is bottomed out I hope and I will have to deal with influx of fresh faced newcomers in coming months. If note I will join the others on the dole. Hey beastie. I had heard life in Russia was difficult for Brits and Yanks these days and I know a few who have had to leave. I have driven the 2015 Mustang V* and the 4 pot turbo. I would go for the turbo here in the UK. Much better mileage and not a great deal of difference for grin factor. I still miss my GB270 though.
  7. I am sweeping away the tumbleweeds as I write here. Now domiciled in Singapore where I teach non-existent students about an industry that doesn't exist anymore. I sold the 'Stang and the man gave me a 1.5l Mazda 3 for the dailly commute through the 250cc Malaysian motGP. Lots of Scoobs here and many have body mods which is brave considering the price of cars and the cost of motoring here. So where are you ScottishScoobs? Do any of the old guard have a Scoob?
  8. A lot of Scoobies have passed under the overpass since that epic weekend. How many participants are still on here? How many still have Scoobs? I have a Mazda 3 now
  9. Unfortunately I will be in Singapore. Looks like a great event. i hope the club will be well represented.
  10. For oneupmanship is it stumpystumpy? The one in the pic is a 4.6.
  11. Who else is at work with a Gahering/McRae/If in doubt shirt on?
  12. I drive smooth and careful as befitting a man of my advanced years stumpx2. A V8 rumble is a fair reward for 2500 rpms at the cruising speed of 65mph when I commute down 59 to work where lecture and pontificate for money. A far cry from the smoking clutches and burning rubber of the gravity challenging Scoob days. I won't be shuffling but rolling off this mortal coil.
  13. Well I haven't been in the USA for 2 weeks as I am working in Singapore at the moment. Hope the 'Stang is nice and cosy in the garaaaage. Mustangs are ok but they are not the speed machines that they have the rep for. Comfortable and fast though. Absolutely pants in the snow.
  14. Y'all having a party without me?
  15. I am in Texas. I own a Stetson, a pair of cowboy boots and a V8 Mustang. Still miss my Scoob
  16. Ahh. I am all nostalgic now. No Scoob, no insurance, no prescence in the UK. The Mustang would be a laugh on those scottish roads but using up a set of rears while finishing 10 minutes behind. Have fun and I will be with you in spirit!
  17. I used to live a mile from there! Many happy hours at the pub hidden behind those trees on the right.
  18. A Higgy meet would be to his taste. Absolutely. As regards the bridge, lets not attract any attention to "spirited" driving on public roads eh? I won't be there in body but consider myself there in spirit.
  19. Ahhh plus ca change. Glad to see you are back on the up slope Chris. Fancy panzerwagen, new family and some some slippery silver tourists as well I believe. Seems like you will be in the New Years honours list wearing a fancy suit. I look forward to that as I can say " Look at that chap, I knew him when all he did was scare goats and keep barbers in business". Of course no one will believe me. I was looking through some of the "old" photos yesterday. Looking for some Higgy shots and your face was the most common. You seemed to have a really crap camo jacket. I say crap because it was was always clear in the photos. Your car had the outrageous stickers (any planned for the panzerwagen?)and the driving to match. This really is a nice change and people may actually start to talk to you in person now. Of course Wilky and myself have embraced our inner rednecks and are cruising around in muscle cars and stetsons. I have rather nice cowboy boots as well. It is the way things are done here you know. Although I still can't bear to sully myself going on a drag strip. Anyway I must pop off as I am going to see ZZ Top next week and I have to grow a beard in a hurry. Happy motoring.
  20. One of the characters of the SIDC at the time. A genuine guy and of course a nutter. Terrible news and I am glad I knew him.
  21. Chris...Getting any Scoob out here in Wyoming is difficult as they are few in number. Probably going to be a standard WRX bugeye when I can find one.
  22. Chris I take it this means your fortunes have taken a turn for the better? I am out looking for a Scoob as well now.
  23. Thread resurrections have their place. I didn't spot this one first time round as I was in a busy place then. 2010 was a bit of an "anus horiblis" (thats a terrible year and not an ugly ar**hole Grant!) for me and Mrs Z as well. My lovely company gave me 30 days to get a transfer or it was the P45 and we ended up out here in Wyoming. I can't complain because this is working out but I did have to hand back our GB270 to the finance company and that hurt! Anyway before I ramble on too long I will just say that I hope those doctors are doing the business and getting you sorted out Squiggle, I know you are getting into classic territory and parts can be difficult but I reckon there are a few miles left in you yet. I have my photos of you in a yellow tabard directing traffic at prodrive so if I ever have a rodent problem I can sort it out quick. No idea when I will be back in Scotland again but it will be a priority to make a SIDC meet when we ae back. Bye y'all
  24. That Texas series was a bit of soap opera. Guys out here have told me that there were auditions to get on that series so I wouldn't believe everything it showed. I have just about completed my OSHA and company safety stuff and the rules are there but adherence to the rules is poor from the drilling companies. Smoking on the floor is not uncommon. Company coveralls have to be earned and there are so many green hands it is really quite scary at times. I am going to be responsible for a whole bunch of young inexperienced guys and I am going to have my work cut out just looking after them. Student_11 I have 20 plus years of North Sea experience and a bit from other parts of the world. If you want something specific just send me a pm.
