  1. Road Warrior...You were at the autocross as well. Should have come up and said hello. I was in the white pug 205 No 502. I have some good shots from the race but taken by my daughter on a olympus e10. don't have access to them now but some very good. the flying mud gives pace to the pictures.
  2. Good to hear that you had a good time at the meet. Who was the mystery member BTW? Now that I am official RO I have to get some things organised. Would like a few more numbers though. However treasure hunt is a definite for the summer probably with a picnic. as well as some other car related ideas. Should also add that I am in possession of official Cancer Research sponsorship forms. Anyone who wants them should get in touch with me by pm please. Happy scoobing!
  3. Thanks for the official announcement John and thanks for the warm wishes folks. Hopefully I will see a few of you at the meets and the events that I am hoping to organise this summer. Lets see a few more folks on the list for Thursday.
  4. Nice! But it won't last. []
  5. I would wave at you Simon but I never see you.
  6. JC...Firstly can you sell? 2nd hand scoobs have been struggling to sell recently and there is nothing worse than trying to sell a car that noone wants. (been there). Best of luck with whatever you decide.
  7. I can only speak from my own experiences and I can say I haven't been to an unfriendly SIDC meet. I have met a lot of people and some I now consider friends. I don't regret going to any of them and haven't met anyone I didn't like and haven't had cross words with anyone. I even met Gumball on a couple of occasions We meet because we own the same make of car and that doesn't mean we are all going to become bosom buddies but I have yet to be at a meet where there were crosswords. Discussions, Yes but all in a good mannered way. At the Fife meets I have made a point of speaking to everyone and trying to bring everyone into the conversation but obviously the bigger the meet the harder that is so it is up to everyone to speak to someone they don't know. As Phil says just a "Hello. We haven't met before. I am ...." and off we go. As for 2006 looking empty Chris. Give me a shout on msn sometime and I can tell you of lots of car related stuff you can get into. So many events. So little time.
  8. bttt for a m8 to find.
  9. I suppose the best test would be to put different size wheels on and see if the whine occurs at a different speed
  10. At the moment all I have is a vague plan. So everything needs done. If anyone has any ideas bring them along to the meet which I have stuck details for in the events section.
  11. Didn't seem much different to me last Monday to Wednesday. gave out a few waves but got nothing back. Includes the guy with the wagon with the smashed drivers side front wing. sare yin!
  12. This is not how it is going to work. We need input to organise this so why don't you go along to the Fife meet and discuss a few details. At the moment there is nothing decided and volunteers are needed. this is what is needed to get this to run.
  13. I will give you cover price for two.
  14. Have to miss this one as I will be tucked up in a nice hotel enjoying my wedding anniversary treat. Thoroughly recommended and Chris will keep you right if you tag along with him. Might even get a wee shottie on the stages.
  15. I know it is sold out and tickets on ebay for outrageous prices. I really want to see The Who. They will blow everyone else away. Won't get fooled again.
  16. The idea was actually Yvonne's and the vision was a photo of the Forth Road Bridge with a line of scoobs as far as you could see. I had a vague plan of assembling at Duloch park and heading out in a convoy along the motorway to the bridge. It would take some organising and more than just the Fife scoobs as the plan was to sponsor for the number of cars that we could muster. I would hope for 50 cars and that would take all of Scottishscoobies. this was thought of before the RB run and I don't want to take anything away from the RB run. It was envisaged to be run very early in the summer when the roads were quiet and there was daylight. Good to see some enthusiasm and if there is enough interest then we should do it. I struggle to get any kind of regular time at home as many know so if others are willing to help then lets see if it runs.
  17. What noises are those? You been flying over jumps in the old thing again?
  18. "with Metro 6r4 clubman engine & scoob running gear" You what? More details and pics please. Dying to see how you install a mid engine engine in a front engine layout transmission.
  19. Got to say I have a lot of sympathy with you Dave. Perhaps in future people will think more carefully about signing up willy-nilly and pulling out leaving the event in a mess. I am bobbing about west of Shetland at the moment so I hope you have a good time at the event.
  20. Higgy I touch goats
  21. I am positive the 62mph whine is tyres as it gets a different tone on different surfaces and is heard at 62 in 3 gears. First gear whine just appears when in first gear although I can't remember if it is with lock on.
  22. So nobody else with the 1st gear whine then?
  23. Having put a few thousand miles on the 2005 WRX PPP i am now familiar with the sounds that it makes and I wondered if anyone else has the same. Sings at 62 mph. Presumably a function of the tyres. Has a noticeable whine in 1st gear Brakes often have a grind. Doesn't seem to affect their performance. The car is completely different to my old 99 wagon. Feels much bigger, higher and stiffer. It is certainly faster although I do feel I am sitting ON the car rather than being part of it. Brakes are much better although I am not impressed with the Bridgestone RE-50s which are very squirrely in the wet. My top tip would be to junk those ASAP
  24. I don't think Crail is that bad. The track is so much better than it was 10 years ago as there were some really rough bits. the buildings can't be touched because of their historic status. The site is of major historical signifcance as one of the few untouched WW2 airfields.
  25. Why do you say it is the last year Daz? My personal dealings with Willie have been fine so I can only comment on those.
