  1. You don't need to go too far. Go to one of the days Barry organises at Kames, especially if John Stevenson is running, not too bad behind the wheel for an old un. Johnny.
  2. I Don't know if anyone on here will be interested but it looks like team Subaru has won this years 10 of the best. Steven darnley won the drag contest with a 9.26 quarter and top speed as well hitting the kilometer mark at 194.1mph and Andy F hit 191mph. I had a very good day with absolutely scorching weather and only 1 broken subaru. Well done to all the team and good to see the hard work paying off. Johnny
  3. If your gonna up the boost without a remap i'd say yes. I used to get det on wot in 5th until i fitted a walboro fuel pump to stop the car running lean at the top end. With my car running 1.2 bar with an hks fcd and fueling sorted it was totally reliable for over 5 years. Johnny
  4. You will prob get fuel cut at 1.2 bar. The ecu reads this as overboost and cuts the fuel. I think 1.1bar is where to set it unless you get a fuel cut defender. Also if you havn't already fit a knocklink to detect detonation. Johnny.
  5. The TD05 started out on early sti's and is a very good turbo with little lag and can make over 300bhp on a 2.0ltr engine. A front entry version will fit a my00 without much work. As for the one on ebay don't go there, as others have said buy second hand oe one or better still get one from Andy F. The original ones on early sti's have a 90 degree entry which won't work on your car. Johnny.
  6. Cheers m8. i don't know the tester but he seems ok. When i told him i had just taken it a run including booting it on the motorway he said i'll put it straight on then so the cat should have been hot. Johnny.
  7. If you want to upgrade to 4 pots i have a set of 4 pots here ( off v5 type r). They are a bit grubby just now. I was going to clean em up and sell them when i had the time. I was running camskill discs and mintex pads but i'd recommend changing to ferodo ds 2500 pads. Are you sure its solid discs at the rear? Most sti's i've seen have vented rear discs. Cheers, Johnny.
  8. Hi Barry Right, the pug is a wee cheap car i bought last august to get me to work and back over the winter and then move on. It was very cheap and has done 145k. In saying this it hasn't missed a beat so i'm going to keep it into at least next year or maybe until i get the scoob back on the road. The co reading was Fast idle: 0.82%, 2nd fast idle 0.62% this was after putting cat cleaner in the fuel and taking it a run for about 20miles including motorways. At the mot station it want straight onto the tester. It is running fine, no hesitation or misses, starts 1st time evry time. It burns a little oil but thats all. The MOT tester rekons it needs a new cat. Everything else on the car is fine, brakes are not the best but passed. Craig, i did a wee bit of research and realised this m8. Cheers, Johnny.
  9. Hi guys, my daily runabout (pug 306) failed its mot. One of the things was the co2. The car has been lying for about 3 months so i'm going to put a fuel cleaner in and give it a good run before the retest. One of the things i noticed on the test results was the mot tester has put 1400 for engine size but its actually a 1600. Will this make any difference? Cheers, Johnny.
  10. I know how you feel m8, there are quite a few people leaving their cars in the garage for at least this year. I even cancelled the insurance on mine (if anyone can take it i'd be seriously impressed). I've asked myself the same question loads of times but if you can, hold onto it as good early cars are getting rare. Johnny
  11. My dad's just had the same thing with his bike. It's a scam alright. I don't know exactly how it works but its something to do with them depositing the money through a false account so you think you've got the money but it never appears. However it works steer clear. Johnny
  12. Mmmm... enhanced spooly'ness (just had a homer meets donut moment) Johnny
  13. RS4 avant?? Or A4 avant tdi could work. My wife has a vectra sri td and it pretty big with good rear space. power is ok although not as good as the audi but the steering is crap. Its got that speed sensitive power steering which goes too light for me at low speeds. Johnny
  14. Thats a tidy looking srad m8. Good luck with the sale of your car. Johnny
  15. Thats crap m8, hope you get it fixed ok without too many other problems. Johnny.
  16. About bloody time you two.... Congratulations Great news and all the best. Johnny.
  17. Also worth checking the cam sensor. If either is disconnected or has a broken wire the car won't start. Cam sensor is on top of n/s head. Johnny
  18. Glad you like em and i could help out m8. johnny
  19. I'd say no as he says they fit early imprezas. are you wanting to stick to 16's? If so i may have a set up for grabs which fit over 4pots. Johnny.
  20. :laughing4: We've all done daft things... Mine was buying a scoob.... Johnny
  21. I take it the wheels are off an early ra? What car did the calipers come off? I've got 4pots on mine (from sti5) and they went straight on. Your welcome to come round and have a quick look to see what the problem is but you'll need to be quick as they are coming off asap. you could buy em if your interested.. cheap. Johnny
  22. I also have a set of 16's lying here if i'm closer (doubt it though). Johnny
