We just do it But come MOT test time, some mods will cause an MOT test failure - so ye need to know the rules there. There are regulations on some mods... no front window tints, also possibly exhaust decibels, tyre clearance... but there's no certification required with any modifications. Only other thing you need to do is tell your insurer of the change. I hope they don't bring the Euro rules into Scotland - they sound a nightmare (and a money making scam!)

Well, today I got a response from the lovely Julia... this was after I asked for details of their complaints dept because I wanted a refund because they weren't providing the service promised. So - we'll see how this pans out.

Hopefully somebody will soon invent a GPS blocker blocker lol It's maybe nae the be all and end all, but they've taken money for a service that they're nae providing - which is pretty poor form and maybe even a bit of a con.

I got the same reply as your 2nd one. Total inability of Octo to admit liability for their system not working, "it wisnae me" seems to be their line. The problem is obviously between the Octo server and their comms company not sending us texts - but he won't even say they are working to resolve a known issue! He's just speaking in riddles. When I asked about a refund? Can you make head or tail of this... So Mr Tom, am I getting my money back or nae cos yer system's nae working?

I got the same bullshit response. If they are experiencing "telecoms network issues" then they better get them under control and sort it out. I'm certainly not experiencing "telecoms network issues" because I have no probs with any other texts.

Aye Don - I can log on to the site thru Subaru UK - that's how I know my subscription is active and that I have credits - so all ok there. Are they gonna refund us money for the inactive service, I wonder? They clearly state they'll take money off us to reinstate the service if we don't top up in time! I'll be making a call when I get hame!

Are you still under warranty? Is that a WRX-S? In which case I think ye maybe have most of the "performance styling" mods done. I think H&S are doing WRX exhausts for the hatch - and then you would need a remap. I've heard STi front calipers will fit onto the WRX - if they do, there's a wee brake upgrade for ye. Suspension mods - anti-roll bars are supposed to be a good place to start on the hatches. Folk say go for handling and braking and then power mods... but I reckon it should be NOISE, handling and braking, then power lol
