  1. That'd be enough to put me off... even if it was one guy at one franchise - I wouldn't use them and teach them a lesson. When I read on AS and saw the videos on youtube of Lawrence of Kemnay (official Subaru franchise) raggin a Subaru enthusiasts pride and joy - ye let people know to avoid - and boycott the mofos!
  2. In his defence - if he's on a mobile ye dinna see that bitty
  3. Well, just arrived back at work a few days and the curse of intergoogle shopping has hit again. Originally went on just to get carbon fibre stickies for the pillars (Carbon Fibre B-Pillar Moulding G12) on the CS400... even though it's a "new" car, they're already a bit faded due to it being sat in a showroom for ages so wanted to get the same stickies I had on the grey beast - they really set it off, see Hatch Mods thread. Well... if they didn't also have a lot of the official US merchandise in store I couldn't resist the flat peak STi basebaw cap so I could look like een of them x-games dudes - I'd priced to get one of them and a "Subaru Surf Dogs" t-shirt off the Subaru US official site and I was over £100 by the time of shipping - unbelievable. Then couldn't resist an STi iphone case Got some of these STi valve caps - the CS400 came with metal ones but nae lockable and no STi logo Had ordered also a thermal coffee tumbler - so I could slurp my Americano on the way surfing but unfortunately got an email that was sold oot - boooo - but apparently will be in again soon. Last Christmas my missus got me my stocking fillers fae their ebay shop - and I previously bought CF stickies, bonnet scoop grill and front fogger kit for the grey beast from them. Delivery times always spot on. Get yersel over there - they have some Subaru hoodies and stuff - part of the American official range - worth a look Hopefully soon they'll get in a Surf Dogs T-shirt - then my life will be complete... Subaru's and Surfs
  4. Prodrive pack on the 08STi got rid of one of the cats, think the one on the centre pipe and it still passed emissions test on MOT. Have ye nae got a friendly garage near ye who could plug in a sniffer and do a quick check?
  5. Fit like, quine! I guess the "This Thread is Worthless Without Pics" smiley is nae use on this introduction thread
  6. Tell me aboot g... I'd put a chip on the front of my bonnet within 2 weeks FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the primer is still there, but the chip is much more noticable with the red. I was wondering if there was some kinda protective lacquer could be applied to the bonnet. I've still got chipex to put on the missus car, and a set of 08+ Dark Grey Metallic Chipex if anybody interested. Will need to look at getting some Chipex in San Remo Red.
  7. I always liked gold wheels on silver scoobs. Either that or RED!
  8. David Higgins became Rally America champion again yesterday in his Scooby Hatch! Well done, min! Rally America SRTUSA Twitter DavidHiggins75 Twitter
  9. With an STI you'd definitely need a remap, not sure about Wrx. Always better safe than sorry in my opinion... Buy all yer goodies for yer plan over time, stock pile them, get cash together for yer remap, fit yer goodies, drive off boost to mapper and get mapped.
  10. Just had a looky inside the CS400... looks like Cosworth have used the AEM intake! So if cosworth dinnae even think their own intake is good enough why should you?!? lol The filters are washable so a 2nd hand unit would be as good as new. The Cosworth intake is a short intake like the K&N... I have read these should only be used if yer gonna run a FMIC. Like g1983 said... you'll need to remap once you fit an induction kit. For reference - Andy Forrest says panel filters no good for bhp gains on the hatches... think this was to do with an overly restrictive air box routing. Andy Forrest Performance - Recommendations Linky Note - the AEM filter isn't as loud as the Typhoon - so nae sure if it's volume you're after. Have you got any exhaust mods?
  11. I had the K&N Typhoon on my old hatch. Made a good sound and Andy F's computer measured 342 and 343 bhp at mapping, along with the PPP kit I already had. If you read Scooby Net and the GR Forum most people would say go for the AEM kit, this is because it puts the intake deeper into the wing. The K&N kit sits higher up under the bonnet. If you look under some of my older hatch posts you'll see some pics of the Typhoon installed. I own a CS400 now which i guess has the cosworth induction kit, although mine is red an I thought the Cosworth one only came in blue. I did think the CS400 maybe had an AEM kit fitted cos it looks really similar, when i go oot to my car later i'll have a poke aboot and see if it's definitely a cosworth kit.
  12. g1983 - on filestube I found a rapidshare link to download the full service manual package for the 08 sti. I'm nae sure this is the same links but think it might be... Part 1 Part 2 The one I downloaded had the service manuals, accessory installation guides and even workshop technician training manuals - it came to 318 MB so think this should be the same. Remember and virus scan the files once downloaded just to be sure. Hope this helps
  13. Hmmm nae sure now - maybe I could move the Cosworth plaque to the radiator shield, but nae sure I like that idea... I'm nae too fussed aboot the Pro-R logo, but may mask it out before i spray it. Ach - will have a think
  14. Ima gonna spray my Pro-R Radiator Shield with red hammerite before I install it - but gonna need to cut oot an opening so ye can still see the Cosworth plate. I reckon a dremel might do the job. I'm going for as much red as possible, lol
  15. Hmmm got my new Subaru - and it's texting me when battery disconnecting - but still no SAT.STATUS response
  16. I saw a mazda mx-5 with it at Aberdeen beach. Only suits a certain kinda car I think - one that is already a bit "rat look", ken
  17. In the 3rd pic you can see the grey heat shielding - at first I thought Subaru UK had forgotten to take oot some transit packaging or something lol. Still running it in which is getting frustrating - especially due to the tailgating by knobs driving people carriers and vauxhall vectras. I look forward to giving it a wee "burble brrrrrrrrrr peeesht". I mentioned the handling before but it is good - steers really good thru the corners, even though I still corner like a granny haha.
  18. Fit like, min, Sti and!!! I think ye mean, "Fife? Where's that?"
  19. haha nae quite although it did jump from the 27 miles when I purchased it to 42 when I drove it away - salesman mentioned pre-sale checklist run blah blah blah I had to drive it from Edinburgh up to Aberdeen and have been looking for any excuse and "long routes" wherever I go... like today I did Aberdeen to Stonehaven via Cairn o'Mount Verdict so far - loving the handling even at the low revs!
  20. Thanks for the info! I should prob have read the manual haha been following that advice in any case but just wanted to check. Have had the limiter beeping at 3000rpm and driving in town and dual carriageway and A-road. I guess it's a good excuse to rack up a further 750 miles before Sunday starting with a couple of hundred this afternoon while the missus goes to work :-D
