  1. Fit like, min! They always come back! p.s. I'm one of the new members
  2. Very nice... looks fast! Must be cos it's red
  3. Should say PS3 - Pilot Sport 3. I've just had a lookie through the CS400 brochure pdf and no reference to wheel type. Only reference to the 1.4 is on the Subaru CS400 Website (link). I remembered this now cos I checked out the CS400 wheels back when I was looking at new wheels for my last hatch - and I did wonder why there was only 4 bolt configurations for the Pro-race 1.4 - I just assumed they'd been discontinued (cos the rimstock website has 1.4G and not just 1.4) or were a special run for the CS400. The CS400 ones don't have the team dynamics embossing. The 1.2 and 1.3 both have team dynamic embossed on the rim. The 1.4G on rimstock website doesn't. edit... Ach - anyway - I'm nae fussed - I think they look smart as f**k and nothing is gonna detract from my enjoyment of my Red Cossie!
  4. I love my big tins o Monster & Rockstar afore I hit the surfin. Never even heard of Dragon Soop! Must be a weedgie thing to compete with the buckie! p.s. Has he paid yet?
  5. Hmmm they look like the 1.4's I'm looking at on google - depends on the configuration of yer nuts of course. And I'd be less likely to trust google on this one. Post up a pic of yours please so we can compare. If ye are flogging them on ebay as as 1.2's - drop me a PM (or pay yer membership ;-) and I'll buy 'em and flog 'em to G1983 as 1.4 's :-D Pro Race 1.4 Anthracite P.S. WHERE CAN I GET MY PAWS ON THIS DRAGON SOOP!!!!???!?!??!?!??
  6. Lol - I think that was a mod edit I'm still interested in how DRS thinks they're nae Pro-race 1.4? Cos I'd like to check mine too. But - aye, DRS - Pay up, haha
  7. Andy Forrest does a good general guide... AFP Linky
  8. Are you flippin' mintal? The Pro-Race wheels on the cossie are far too good to get rid of?!?
  9. RA Motorsport Cosworth If yer from Scotland (surname Calder? lol) and want to support Scottish companies - RA Motorsports in Perth do Cosworth. Think their price here though is ex-vat hence the cheapness. Demon Tweek Cosworth Demon Tweeks have got the head gaskets too for aboot £80 - I bought a Cosworth Oil Filler Cap from them recently which arrived in a couple of days, no probs. SRB Performance I've just ordered some parts from this dude, Dan @ SRB. He's gone the extra mile to fly in the stuff I want from Japan by air freight so I'm nae waiting on back order - It's nae arrived yet, so can't comment on the service quite yet, but here's hoping! Same price on Cossie head gasket as Demon Tweeks. SRB also do ARP head studs - so it's a one stop shop. (I've just picked random scooby engines on their sites - if yer using them - double check the engine details etc)
  10. Few months ago... A red one? I'm pretty sure I'll let my usual franchise organize my servicing, thanks Ach - that's maybe harsh - I just didn't like the pushy sales technique and the way they were acting like they were doing me a favour. I was ready to buy a GT-R at their sister ootfit... but hey, I just had to have another scooby
  11. Fit like, min! Good luck with the search.
  12. Good on ye for the name and shame - the motor dealing industry needs a kick up the arse and things like this help. It's nae like yer buying a wee thing - for most folk the car is their second purchase after somewhere to live! Good on you (and Andy F) for tracking it doon and not being fobbed off.
  13. Thanks for the clarification Don - is there anyway to plug into it with a laptop to see performance info? As an aside, have you heard of this "black box" interfering with Bluetooth phone signal? My Kenwood SatNav bluetooth worked great in my old hatch, but now I've put it in the cossie, it's un-useable due to echo, even with trying all the noise reduction settings. Also wondered if it was an earthing problem when I've installed in new car - any ideas how to shield wires so they don't interfere with a radio signal? Like I said will have the panel off soon to fit gauges and would be good if I good resolve my bluetooth issue at same time. Also got my rear view camera to install so gonna be a busy October!
  14. I had a wee thread on this very subject... CS400 Running In I usually used Sport mode so as to be giving it small amounts of boost coming up to 4000rpm, but did also use the other modes too, just because the recommendation is to do as much varied driving as possible without caning it - I heard from a Subaru Tech who posts on the GR forum that it was good to bring on a little boost sometimes or else it can burn oil later (don't know how true this is). I expect the machining of the Cosworth pistons means the pistons don't need a run in - the bore's however, not too sure how good the machining on them would be. One thing to note - yer car has a data logger fitted (nervous panic by IM group to get out of warranty claims in case their high powered cossie performance pack goes pop - I wonder). I'm pretty sure it's situated above your Sat Nav/Radio. When I had the CD player oot to install my touchscreen, there is a black box in there which isn't in the standard STi - so I guess that's it. I would like to know how to access it - but have been unable to find out. I' going to have that panel off again soon to fit gauges - so will have a lookie. Try not to worry and enjoy your car - I kinda ruined my experience with my last hatch STi worrying about engine failures, part of the reason I got the cossie. I loved the hatch and didn't want any worries. Providing you keep a good eye on your oil level and get her serviced regularly, she should be fine for years and years to come. Oh - and like Tony said... ALWAYS GOOD FUEL! I only ever use V-power. If you are in emergency, only put in tiny amount of normal UL and then get super asap. (I'd still be pushing to get those arches done, mind!) Here's my Red Dragon thread - although thinking of changing name to "The Red <insert evil word here>" lol The Red Dragon
  15. Just did a sat.status and it worked ok. I had my alarm go off for an unknown reason a couple of weeks ago and text came from a number I wasn't expecting. This sat.status just responded to this new number. Maybe worth forcing an alarm by removing -ve battery lead for a minute - or by locking the car with the drivers door open, think that works too. edit - have you got 2 mobile numbers set up? Is it working from the other phone? I think ye need 2 numbers these days for it to work.
  16. I guess everyone's circumstances are different - I only do about 1500 miles/year - so 6 month services would be overkill. I'll stick to the schedule - although I think I'll get a first oil change very soon. I agree Subaru saying a "safety check" at 1000 miles and no oil change on the CS400 until 3000 miles is far too long for first oil change and possibly even some service parts.
  17. I've only done 1000 miles so nae due a service yet. What's the reasons for them not wanting to service it? Problem is if a main franchise dealer doesn't service it - yer basically invalidating your warranty. Where about in the country are you? On my last STi I used Autoecosse in Dundee because I wouldn't trust my local franchise with it. There's videos on youtube of Lawrence of Kemnay filmed in-car thrashing a subaru while giving it a post-service test run. So if you need to travel a wee bit to get a dealer you can trust - I think it's worth it.
  18. Yer right G - but I'd just like to add, A hatch says to people "I'm comfortable with myself, my life and my status"... a saloon says... "I'm inadequate in many departments and I need a big spoiler to make up for my short cockmings"
  19. I'm out the country just now but will definitely be checking my arches next time I see my car. Do people expect too much for their money? No, I don't think so - it's nae even as if yer asking for extras, yer expecting the bare minimum to be done right. Difficult getting a job done right by anybody these days but that's no excuse - especially when ye shell oot over £40k. Only problem for me so far is a hoor of a chip on my bonnet - and I've scoured the pics of the day I collected the car to see if it was there when I picked it up to try and make a warranty claim - but it was raining when I collected it and took the photos, schoolboy error. It was probably just bad luck - but if ye can get a warranty claim, why not. If you don't ask, ye don't get, and if ye don't get, start giving them shit I think part of the problem was that the dealers were really forced into the sale of these cars at very little margin by IM group pre-registering them all to specific dealers. But that's not your problem... and if they want you to buy another Subaru, they should really be kissing your ass and helping you get yer car perfect... and I'd be making sure they knew that - no matter how pissed off they get. They'll be hoping they grind you down and you give up - f**k that. Give 'em hell! p.s. What number? Pics? Colour?
