  1. Search for a thread on here - yer VIN number will reveal all edit - found the link for ye! Click here :-)
  2. Thanks for the input and Good point regarding having it easily accessible. I'll look and see about mounting onto the seat runners at passenger seat of it's not too obstructive. I see Clark Motorsport do a range of extinguishers so will try and pay them a visit I think.
  3. Anyone got a fire extinguisher fitted in their Scoob? I'm gonna get one soon and wondered where folk had them mounted. Seen a photo of one today which was mounted in the passenger foot well to the left of the centre console but don't want to lose passenger leg room. I'm thinking a nice mount in the boot of the hatch could look cool. Anyone got any examples?
  4. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr PEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHT!!!!!!! Who needs another reason to get one It was the favourite mod I did to my first hatch... wouldn't want a scoob without one now. Performance wise only required on the hatch - noisewise, required for all scoobs
  5. For performance info... Andy Forrest Performance site is a great reference point: Andy Forrest Performance Link :-)
  6. How bad is the misfire? Or is it just the CEL that's doing yer head in? Note - I'm just going by the 4200GT which is a big non-turbo V8 lump. It developed a misfire issue which started about 2500rpm and was worse at high revs - only really intermittent, but sometimes almost stopped the car it was that bad. OBDII fault codes were only for misfire - despite the 4200GT having literally hundreds of available codes. It was only on the right bank of the V8 cylinders - these 4 cylinders fed a 4-into-1 exhaust with a front and rear cat. Immediate thoughts were electrics... Mechanic checked plugs - all ok, individual coil pack electrics for each plug - all ok, Injectors - all ok, Hydraulic tappets - all ok, Fuel rail - ok, only one fuel pump for both fuel rails and no fuel filters - so couldn't have been that. No timing belt on a 4200GT either, and I think timing belt adjustment can be big cause of misfire issues. Were tearing hair out - then got the car up on the ramp again after it had been running a while. The front cat was red hot, burning, which was caused by the internals are breaking down - my understanding is that this was changing flow out and messing up the fueling/timing because of the lambda (but i might be talking pish, lol). This wasn't showing a cat error on OBDII because the cat temp sensor - which detects an overheating and faulty cat was after the front cat. Removed the front cat on that side and bingo - car ran good again - so it was definitely a problem with the front cat. Ran it decat until got parts to replace it with no problems - but no 'spirited driving' until replaced. However, on a Subaru I think permanent removal of a front cat will likely throw a check engine light - NOTE, it may even change the flow out and change yer fuelling so ye might need a remap and it could be an MOT emissions failure too. Lots of people run decat exhausts though and map it to suit. With a boxer engine, I'm not sure a failing cat would just affect one cylinder - but might be worth a try just to see. I know the 4200GT when regularly checking OBDII didn't always have a misfire code on all 4 cylinders, the codes would build up over time to include all 4, if you know what I mean. Have you had timing belt serviced recently? Although, I'm guessing engine knock or a sticky valve would throw up an OBDII code.
  7. That's really f**kin shit, min. I hate hearing about shit like this.
  8. Do you have a catalyst or are you running a de-cat system? I just had a bad misfire issue on a V8 and it was down the front cat breaking down.
  9. Has your car got a PPP kit? I know when I got PPP fitted, the new ECU/map made one of my keys nae work - I was meant to take both keys with me during PPP installation but forgot one. A Subaru dealership should be able to sort if that's the problem.
  10. Most of the younguns here dream of owning dodge chargers, and ford mustangs and chevy cameros. Two of my guards though really like scoobs, one used to own one when he lived in UK. He says he would love to bring an impreza to Kurdistan - I've told him the engine would prob be dud in no time at all... but I wonder how the muscle cars and BMW's and all that cope with the shite petrol ye get here. I'll need to get some pictures up of the Shall Oil (sic) stations... as you can imagine, they dinna do V-power Their next door neighbour has a huge BP sign, very very similar logo and in small writing underneath (bryati petrol)
  11. I need pics please - I've got a mega chip on my bonnet and wonder how the match will be for san remo red
  12. Spotted an auld blue Impreza GL on Salahadine Road, Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq today! The FIRST EVER Subaru I've seen in Iraq! Apologies I didn't wave - I never saw an SIDC sticker and I was in a Land Cruiser. My guard didn't even know what a Subaru was and couldn't understand my excitement lol (well, this is the Subaru INTERNATIONAL Driver's Club these days )
  13. Anyone had any dealings with Nengun performance? Seem to have a fair range but some stuff looks pricey but maybe that's cos it's jap import stuff? edit - lol - just read the 'About' section, they're based in japan! Nengun Performance STi GRB e.g. Tower bar
  14. I'm lovin the flower pots in the black car I think the wife thing is right on the money - hence why so many middle aged men are angry people-carrier drivers
  15. Fit like, min! I would recommend stretching to an STi if ye can.
  16. Ye might need an exhaust finisher so ye dinna melt yer bumper though! Wish my car made flames <sulk>
  17. Would only be a problem if ye had a catalyst still in I reckon.
  18. Fit like, min! (they always come back, lol) I'm a bit sceptical aboot the performance gains from just fitting high flow exhaust and remapping so would ask to see the printouts. Body wise - some nice extras... it's got full grill kit including bonnet scoop grill which is cool, it has exhaust finishers but looks like they've been sprayed black, it also has the front foggers sprayed black. Also debadged at the back Definitely a cool looking hatch There's a blue hatch listed in the sales section here - tipped as the best modified hatch in the UK - but nae sure if still for sale blue hatch for sale Anyhoo - good luck finding a hatch!!!
  19. I'm currently interested in an OBDII monitoring system that I could plug into the RCA video input on my sat-nar DVD... if such a thing exists
  20. Just wondering if anyone has seen my grey hatch STi that I traded in near Edinburgh a month ago? Will be back on on S*58 NJO plates I think. I hope it's gone to a good home and is well looked after... doesn't look like it's on the dealer's website so guess was a quick sale - I didn't think to check in the few weeks after I traded in to see if it was ever online. It was pushing 343bhp - I meant to leave AFP printoot in the car but can't remember if I did.
