About Ribman

  1. Merry crimbo guys! Made even merrier by my student loan coming in a few weeks ago. so here is what has been purchases so far.. sti tmic sti injectors hks bov ngk plat spark plugs cosworth panel filter vf35 turbo forge actuator 255lph pump full cat back system and a set of tein oilovers. A huge thanks to paul at shennan motorsport for helping me to source so many bargains and for his priceless advice. Working my way through fitting what i already have and now saving up for new alu rad and up pipe, after these itll hopefully be off to andy forest for a remap and that will be the power side of things done. until i can get my laptop / phone (both android devices) to post pics in this forum you can search ribman impreza on photobucket to see some shots of the progress.
  2. thanks. fair point, ive got the morning off tomorrow i'll make sure i get some pics taken then.
  3. just got a good deal on a set of 550cc injectors and a new manifold. feel like we're starting to gain some traction now haha
  4. another quick update while im sitting in college today; came across a cheap roll cage through Paul Shennan of Shennan motorsport so ill be picking that up before sunday. The seat rails for the bride seat have been made up and are looking good with a very low (perhaps too low) position. getting frustrated at the student loans company as its now been about 2 months. I'll post again when they pull finger and get in touch with my money. cheers
  5. no worries, i'll just wait till im a member then haha tonight perhaps. no not got a chance yet, been working alot of overtime to try get in the good books. it'll be a job for a freezing sunday night i think
  6. well thats my student loan sorted out. looking into freeing up some more power before i concentrate on anything else. as i'm on a budget ive been looking at japspeed components, De-cat, fmic and such but i know that if you buy cheap you'll probably buy twice. has anyone any experience with japspeed stuff?
  7. cheers for the offer neil its appreciated. however i live just outside cumnock so it'd be a fair trek with no insurance or tax on the car haha. one of the EP3 boys down the road has offered to let me use his mig welder so ill hopefully get it done this weekend.
  8. sub 1300 is amazing haha i bet it makes a fair difference too :L i look forward to seeing what you do next
  9. I reckon i'd go further than most. the carpets are out now aswell and theres a lightweight Bride seat ready to put in as soon as i can get my hands on a welder to weld it to original wrx rails. If i get really bored i might look into an abs or power steering delete but i think that might be pushing it a bit further than nessecary lol everything bar the dash and probably the centre plastics will be removed. i hear the front crash bar has to be removed when fitting an FMIC anyway so i imagine theres a few kg in there. is there anything substantial you can think im missing?? Cheers for the link, sounds like a cracking build. would be cool to get a number on the weight though.
  10. sorry i should probably have included my goals, i'll edit it just now. looking to achieve 350 brake & 1350KG or as close as i can safely get to that without going nuts.
  11. that sucks dude. insurance companies are ran by the devil haha but happy birthday regardless (Y)
  12. Hi all. As some of you may know, I was layed off 2 hours after signing the deal on my 1st impreza. being 19 this created a few problems in the form of insurance and running costs but i wont bore you fellas with the negativity haha long story short, "the black pearl" has now went into hibernation awaiting my student loan and tax rebate along with my new source of income to turn it into a back road blasting monster - of sorts. this topic will just be a way of showing what can be done on a real budget and something to keep me in touch while waiting for the next pay cheque so please dont expect glorious shiny go faster bits every week haha Any Advice is more than welcome and very appreciated and if you've any cheap go faster bits please give me a shout oh and if there is any part on the car that you want / need drop me a PM and im sure that we can sort something out so here goes: 18 / 9 / 2012 rear bench, drivers seat, passangers seat, air conditioning, fog lamps all removed. a swoosh boost gauge and prodrive backbox fitted. awaiting student loan and tax rebate which should give me excess of of 2k to throw into her, any ideas on what else can come out other than CD player? pics will be uploaded as soon as i figure out how to haha.
  13. looking to do a similar upgrade to my wrx, hoping to install a 20g td05 along with a horde of other shiny go faster bits was it a staright replacement for the td04? sorry if this happens to be a stupid question, new to imprezas and modifying in general haha. cheers, Andy
  14. cheers stum! and thanks guys glad you like it
