  1. Both of mine are using Godspeed grooved discs and fast road pads but for some reason the hawk doesn't feel as good as the blobeye wrx. Might try some different pads and braided hoses and get the fluid changed while its in.... They aren't bad i'd just prefer more bite!
  2. Been there before had a white car years ago and said never again. I was a pain in the ass to keep it clean. Since then all i've had is dark colours. Easier to look clean as you struggle to see the tar spots on it
  3. Nice clean car, could need to get some new pads on mine before the fling as the godspeed ones fitted in January don't seem to be great... Could be an excuse to go down the braided hose route at the same time. Just got to decide what to fit now.
  4. hopefully it'll be just as shiny then! MIght be more of to get it ready
  5. Well with the decent weather i didn't have an excuse anymore.... I tried out the new polishing machine on the C4 yesterday and today it was the turn of the Hawk. There were a few screatches that i wanted removed and it needed a good spruce up. So it was washed, tar removed (auto glym Tar and Bug Remover), clayed, polished (dual action machine with fine a fine cutting polish), Primed, sealed and glossed (Workstat 3 part treatment). After an arm busting 5 1/2 hours these are the results.... Now all i need to do is clear enough space in the garage so it'll fit and wont get covered in bird crap every day!!
  6. Mines ready - might have some brake tweeks before the fling but apart from a good wash, polish and seal (tomorrows job as the C4 was the guinepig today) she's ready for action. I must remember to get some octane booster though! Helps there is you need it Al
  7. My alternator/power steering belt was in 3-4 bits when it was replaced last year..... I have a feeling it had been fitted for a while!
  8. looks like another set of pads for the front of the car could be on the list..... Performance Friction/Mintex we'll see. While i'm at it i might as well get some braided hoses fitted to firm things up a touch...
  9. They were fine (and still are) on the blob. Might need a change of pad then. While i'm at it braided lines could be a good idea! Might have to sell a guitar or 3 to raise some funds! 1. wrx kenny mintex/performance friction 2. Davey l wrx mintex/perfomance friction + braided hoses!
  10. Might go for this, i fitted a full set of discs and pads from Godspeed but i'm a bit disappointed in them to be honest. There doesn't seem to be alot of bite and it feels worse than the blobeye WRX does under braking. I've been mulling over either changing the pads or going for some braided hoses!

  14. The plan is i'll add this every week - or just update this thread. So at least we've been warned. Be a bit nicer if they put the times up though
  15. haha i wasn't sure if we did or not i was going to swing by and have a word with Euan if we didn't but that saves me a job. Was that where ScoobyDoom got the alignment done at on his and was looking at setting up an open day? I can't complain really i got a deal from them on the whiteline kit and then a reduced rate on the labour. I'd already joined Aberdeen Scoobs anyway to see if they had anything going on....
  16. haha you don't have to just let me know what you want on and i can manage it... Or you could join the rest of hunity and let the world know everything you get up to

  18. First little job done..... The Moray Scoobies Facebook page has now become the Moray & Aberdeen District (MAD) Scoobies page. Come along and join it it's a handy way to get reminders of whats going on if you don't get onto here much. I'll update it regularly with whats going on and have had a few other ideas for it. http://www.facebook.com/insights/?sk=po_128247750563009#!/pages/Subaru-Impreza-Drivers-Club-Moray-Aberdeen-District-MAD-Scoobies/128247750563009 Hopefully we'll get something sorted for the near future... I haven't been to the Sealife Centre in Macduff for a while maybe i should see if we can get a SIDC discount

  21. Just found the itemised bill Al. Wheel alignment & set up £70 Adjust front + rear camber £33 I do believe that was with the discount from aberdeen Scoobies though! Still i saved more than the membership cost just getting the whiteline kit fitted.
  22. I'll be merrily cruising along in the 'less progressive' group as well. It hasn't 'snapped' on me yet it's like part way through the corner it goes completely neutral then the back feels like it's going. It porbably isn't I think it could just be pushing through the other side of being balanced. It doesn't feel dangerous it's just not what i'd got used to but i am getting faster through the corners as i get used to it. I don't try to dive the wheels off the car when i take it out anyway so i think it'll be ok. Clark Motorsport did say drive it for a while and if it's not to my liking take her in and they can adjust it to suit.
  23. Don't forget Clark Motorsport Al, they fitted my stuff and set it up. I've got a nice print out with all the settings on it somewhere. I can say from having the whiteline kit fitted to mine in Feb, it feels better in the corners and feels like it's on rails (there's virtually no body roll now). Though getting used to it is taking some time as the back end does feel a bit more 'twitchy' if you give it too much right foot in the bends but then it seems to dig in and fire out the other side. Overall i like the set up it's just the 'getting used to the changes' thats taking some time and i've only had the car since November so i've not been driving it for years but the difference is noticable.
  24. That'll be the interior coming out next week to fit the Vibe Lite-Air sub. Should finish off the ICE in the hawk
