Looking good mate you don't happen to be in the Falkirk area do you I'm sure i've admired that car in the passing
-
Sorry to see that Martin hope it works out mate, as long as you are OK it can always be replaced
-
Kenny I got more or less the same quote from both A-plan & Keith Michaels £500 & £350 excess for the GB but then that's old git rates I suppose Forgot to mention that's with all mod's declared, in standard form it was £320
-
Big thanks to Craig for the K-Sport front brake upgrade, gave it a wee blast on the way home Craig & the stopping power is mucho improved, that's me finished with modding the GB happy with the power & handling just the usual running costs now, The RA will be getting some attention now mostly cosmetic bit of painting & a new set of rubber bobby
-
Nice one mate let the modding begin bobby
-
If you get rid of it Chris you'll only waste even more money six months down the line when you miss it
-
Where have I heard that before, many £££££££ssssss later and the warranty was void on my GB when it was six months old
-
I've owned both the STI & GB270 both are excellent cars, as Paul said I would test drive both, the STI would probably be the better buy as it has stronger parts the GB is a limited edition so it might hold it's value a bit better, even if you buy an STI you'll end up modding it anyway so it's gonna cost Just bite the bullit & get the RB lol

Hi & welcome along mate, there's a Central meet later this month get yourself along & join in the banter
-
That's a hard one had that many cars over the years being one of the old git's 80's did the Opel thing - Kadette 1.6 SR, then three manta GTE's 90's had a couple of suzuki swift GTI's for commuting from Falkirk to Faslane they went like stink, then BMW M3 & M5, Then came 1998 after waiting 10 long months took delivery of a new Impreza Turbo 2000 & the grin has never left there was a choice of colour "green or green" Worst has to be an Austin 1300 estate but we wont go there lol Fred Flintstone never had a look in
-
Had similar problen on the RA Jon, would run OK for weeks then wouldn't start, go back 30mins later & it would start, had the crank & knock sensors replaced & it hasn't coughed since, touch wood, gremlins
-
It's a fight every day first out grabs the RA, still makes me grin every day & in this weather it leaves more modern cars for dead just can't get it from the wife "the car that is " No ABS to get confused just fun, if you think back 15 years to when it first came out it makes you realise what an awsome peice of kit it must have been & is still quicker than most cars today. Go for it & enjoy. I must admit as Neil say's i like the GB on the more open roads like the highland run etc

Something missing from this pic Dave where's the shirt

Lost for words Noel, gutted mate you could do time for scum like these, they make you so Fcukin , I hope you find out who did it & don't bother with the legal route, I encountered something similar years ago, we had friends staying overnight, they only had an old Mk1 astra but when we got up in the morning the car & the driveway was covered in a combination of paint stripper & gold spray paint, luckily I did manage to track down the culprit & the more evil side of me took over, revenge cost them many ££££££sss on more than one occaision, I don't condone it but sometimes it's the only way.

Plan to finish the GB off in January the final MOD will be the K-Sport brake upgrade and that's my plans for it complete, The RA will need a bit of tarting up after being used all winter as the daily runner / snow plow to get it gleaming again, front & back bumpers removed & sprayed, new front indicators, fog light covers, decals, timing belt is the only thing left to do mechanically since taking over the reigns need to speak to Frank STI & get a wee detail on it & speak to Gus the Bus for his recommendation on a new set of tyres for it, might even fit a set of speakers in it

kind of wasted a good WR1 if you ask me, a few of the standard mods on a WR1 would be sufficient... say's me, I hope I don't get slagged off for wasting my GB270 lol anyway the final mod is on it's way Santa's got a wee K-sport upgrade to help it stop a bit quicker -
The key pad's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard as the only time you'll need it you will no doubt encounter short term memory loss & ask yourself oh F*** what's that code again as people passing by give you strange looks & say what's that thieving git up to

Superb well done to everyone I just wish I could be there tomorrow

bobbyc replied to ed-209's topic in Scottish Scoobies
This was a nice wee surprise when I logged on last night so I must say a big thank-you to one and all I'd also like to say I really enjoy being a part of this club and appreciate the amount of work that goes on in the background, from the RO's past & present for organising the meets & runs, the fund raising team whose efforts are relentless and appreciated, the track days & meets at Knockhill & Alford, the Highland & Skye runs, mag machines, Kirkie canal festival etc etc I think this year we managed a pretty full calendar & hopefully next year we can carry on the good work. There are a lot of new people around and I would urge you to get out to the meets and events and get to meet everyone, the club is there for everyone to enjoy and you will only get the full benefit by getting involved. Thanks again Bobby -
Best of both worlds Mike cannae whack it, STI hatch looks good in black, a couple of my pals have the 3.0 tdi engine in their Audi's & it does really pull like a train
-
Not doing too well for time off to help out Robert but I'm meeting Marky TS tomorrow night in Cumbernauld & he'll bring my raffle tickets & the cash Iv'e raised over to the Kwang Tung on Fri bobby

I had the same problem with the RA, last Glasgow meet I was sure it was slipping on the way home & never did it again, coming back from Crail it started slipping again a couple of times, took it out with Dunc from Hypertech for a blast & car was good as gold, This clutch has only covered 5,000 mls flywheel was lightened as well, Dunc adjusted the clutch as it was only biting on the last bit of the pedal & hasn't slipped since, it could be as you said a sticky bearing or oil on the clutch it only happened when mine was hot.

A K-Sport front brake upgrade would be nice dropped enough hints but i'm just getting ignored lol
