  1. cheers guy's, the RA was due to get a bit of TLC & restoration work this year anyway, 15 years old now & most of the hoses etc could do with replacing, managed to get a new rad will get that done soonest, think i'll fit the calipers off the GB as well & the bodywork is already in hand just waiting on a date for it to go in.
  2. Hope all goes well Noel & it ends up like a brand new scoob mate
  3. Gauges will have to wait lol did a press test & got a wee split in the rad as well it never rains
  4. Sorted, slight split in bottom hose lack of coolant is the problem, must have went last night glad I was only in the village
  5. Car normally heats up in a couple of minutes & temp gauge always sits about 1/3, temp gauge normal but no hot air, then hot air comes through for a short period then goes cold again, temp gauge started moving between 1/3 & 2/3's so cars parked up will get a shifty today.
  6. out in the old RA today & for the first time this winter it wasn'ae like an oven inside intermittant cold / hot air inside & for the first time erratic movement of the temp gauge, suspect sticky thermostat any ideas
  7. Don't know what plugs you have at present but I fitted NGK ILFR7H Spark Plugs when the Mod's were carried out
  8. I ain't no expert but I had intermittant starting problems with the RA, replaced the crank & knock sensors fitted new plugs & it's never coughed, If you have an induction kit fitted I would also check the MAF as they can get gunged up.
  9. http://www.bestautobits.com plastic ones here guy's slightly dearer at £15.99 I only took one last year & Dunc is selling octane booster in tablet form now, just pop one into the tank & hey presto

  14. I will do her RA this year or I'll get just waiting for the better weather before getting stuck in to the bodywork no point in starting it whilst the roads are still covered in salt
  15. Mag is going to be rolling her eye's again as I said I would concentrate on her RA this year Decided to do one more wee mod to the GB & fit a tripple gauge pod & defi gauges if any of you guy's could recommend what sites have the best bargains at present be much appreciated, flat4online appear to have the cheapest pod but from previous experience can't be trusted to supply the goods.

  24. Derek your not being a perfectionist it's your pride & joy, I had the same with the GB mate, you pay mucho £000000's only for some lazy muppet in a garage to fire self tappers in (Grieves take note) Iv'e lost count on the number of high end market cars you see with rust marks running down a plate from a couple of scabby self tappers, it's the little things that let garages down, demand a new bumper mate that'll sort them out.
  25. Never had a problem Derek, normal size lettering just the plate cropped a bit
