  1. Good news on the new purchase. I too have an 04 WRX. Great choice. I had the same idea in my head when I bought mine just over a year ago but as others are saying forget the PPP. It is way too expensive for what you get. ECU, 2 uprated inter-cooler hoses and exhaust. PPP for 04 WRX I have done most of the upgrades that I thought were required before going for the power upgrade. Brakes. Suspension. Wheels. It will probably be sometime next year before that happens now. My plan is to go for the uprated inter-cooler hoses, a full custom made Meercat exhaust then an Andy Forrest remap. Should be around the £1200 mark depending on exactly what I go for and the results will be better than that of the PPP. Meercat Andy Forrest Some good info on the Andy Forrest web link there to help you out.
  2. Not good news Darren, get well soon.
  3. Top job. Loving the red Prodrive stickers with the matching red calipers. Overall, beautifull scoob.
  4. Sorry mate the old alloys are already sold. They would have been no good to you anyhoo because they were BK Racing 238, that were originally on a VW Golf and they were not the correct offset for a Subaru (previous owner fitted them). They should never have been on the car. They are now back on another VW Golf. I did get the original WRX alloys with the car when I bought it but they too are also sold. Dale (the fast one) has them on his car now.
  5. Just to show you all that I actually went through with the winning vote. Blue with the white letters. Not the most perfect job, but not too shabby for a 1st attempt. I'm happy with it, a definite improvment i think.
  6. Hey Rich, Welcome to the club, the car looks sweet. Get some more pics up.
  7. Gus the car looks fantastic. I love it. The graphics so far are superb and man is that car squeeky clean, would love a session from the blue dragon. As for the wheels white would indeed finish it of just perfectly. You sure do have this Subaru tweeking thing down to a tee. Each and every example I have seen of yours to date certainly has that wow factor. Keep up the good work.
  8. Great choice. You will not be disappointed with them treads, from what I have read. I always disgarded them as I thought I could not afford them, how much are you paying?
  9. Right, ok then, thanks again for all the votes and comments. The yellow stickers on the foglight covers are soon to be changes to white by the way, mayby should have stated that. I personally fancied the red calipers with white letters. I love the calipers in red and thought it would break up the blue/black already on the car. Lindsy wants the blue calipers with the white letters and it looks like she will get her way. As the voting has went heavily in her favour. Voting now closed thanks again people. Oops, not sure how to close the poll so it is still open.
  10. I'm loving them. Might have guessed you would go for Tango calipers. Thanks for all the votes and input people. I will close the poll up tommorrow and let you know what my thoughts were and what Lindsy's thought were.............. and what I intend to do.
  11. Hi Dan, Welcome to the club. I have only had my scooby for a year now and for most of that time the car sat on Federal tyres. These are budget performance doofers, about £45 a corner, very cheap but if you want to remain safely planted on the road especially in the wet forget them. I recently bought a wheel and tyre package for the car so I can't tell you how much my new tyres would set you back. I opted after much deliberation for Yokohama Parada 2's and have not been disapointed yet, even in the wet. I was going to go for the Toyo T1R's (which I am led to believe are excellent value for money) but at the last minute changed my mind. I think the Yokohama's might be more grippy but the down side is they might wear faster. I will only find this out throughout the next year I suppose. I am certainly no expert on the matter and also aint no racing car driver either, just my opinion to date .
  12. Jump to the scottish scoobies and place your votes please. Brake caliper poll thread
  13. Just a little poll to help me and Lindsy stop fighting over which colour the brake calipers should be painted on our car. I will not reveal our individual preference as not to sway anybody's vote. I am not going as far as having the calipers removed, split and professionally painted on this occasion. I am just going to paint them very carefully myself with the wheels removed. Using something like Halfords brake caliper paints or I've also heard that smooth hammerite paints work well. Then coat with a clear laquer. Any pointers on good products welcome.
  14. That would be the missus driving. If you were in your scoob and she saw you I'm sure she would have given you a wave. Or was she too busy tearing it up.
  15. I gave my other half Lindsy a Knockhill driving experience for her birthday earlier this year. It was the Seat track star one and she loved it. While there, the instructor told us that doing the 1 hour session in your own car is a great way to learn, the track, your car and your own ability. He also told us that if we wanted, we could even share the session. Half an hour each, which I thought was a great idea. As far as having the track to yourself, I'm not sure but I very much doubt it. The day we were there, there were other instructers and drivers on the track but there wasn't as much traffic as there would be as on a track day. If in doubt give them a phone call and ask, as i found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull indeed.
  16. Looking good emoe. Can't beat the black with the coloured rim. Also I see Yokohama Parada, another wise selection. Want to see more pics once they are finished and on the car.
  17. My initials are SDT. So I think I will not be joining you by having them letters on a private plate........... ...........too close to STD.
  18. If the white WRX is already on the flaps, then leave it on to begin with to get a feel for what looks better, then make your decision. Post up some more pics and get other opinions but it is up to you at the end of the day. After all its your car. But to be honest you have got it spot on so far.
  19. Yea Ace, I remember seeing your thread. Can't remember if I left you a comment, so just incase I didn't, the new stickers are a huge improvement and your car looks fantasteesh! Also love the plate, 'ACE'.
  20. Cheers Imy and to all for positive comments.
