  1. I have Tein sports springs fitted to car (lower it about 25mm on the rear and about 30mm on the front), Whiteline front and rear arb's, Whiteline alloy drop links, Whiteline anti-lift kit and Fast road geometry set-up. All bits supplied and work carried out by Hypertech. (Free fitting on all Whiteline parts). Top job done.
  2. Hey Ross, Thats one mighty fine collection you've got there. Love the Impreza's, the detail on the cars is fantastic. You should bring a couple along to some of the meets, I'm sure they would go down a treat. Top ten in the world eh........ fantastic.
  3. Job well done there and a very nice bug if I don't say so myself.
  4. Wheels look grand, very nice. As does the car. Once it is dropped, even better.
  5. Shocking pictures there of your beautifull car.......... Very glad no one was (physically) hurt though.
  6. DR Motorsports. You have to be very carefull when buying an aftermarket spoiler because they are not all good quality products. I can assure you that the DR Motorsports one is a high quality part and it is very difficult to tell it apart from the original Subaru £900 STi Pro Rear Wing. Do it, you will not be disappointed. Authentic Subaru Spoiler
  7. Holy sh.. Great pictures, that 1st one is a peach.
  8. Pics are on this link......... Spoiler on stilts
  9. You do indeed have to remove the headlight unit to change the sidelight bulb. The only bulb that can be replaced without removing headlight unit is the main beam. How to remove blobeye headlight units
  10. DR Motorsport without a doubt. David is most helpfull and an absolute gentleman. Here are a couple of pics of mine after fitting.
  11. Hi Stevie, I just done the de-tango thing recently and it is well worth it. Make sure you have enough time to complete the job in one go, 3 hours is about the average time taken. Take your time throughout and you can't go wrong. Have some mastik handy for when you go to re-seal the headlight unit. You wouldn't want to go to all this effort and then leave the unit not sealed properly. Another tip, if you want to change or need to change any headlight bulbs (obviously you will be changing the orange indicator one for a silver bulb) this is the time to do it as you need to remove the headlight unit to do so anyway! 1. Remove plastic grille and air intake duct on the L.H. side of engine bay as you look at it. Easy. 2. There are now 3 bolts securing each headlight in place, 2 are on top and the other is hiding on the inner side of each headlight. The 2 top bolts are easily removed but the other one is a little bit fiddly because of access, carefull you don't drop that one! 3. Pop all your bolts into a cup or cups so they don't go missing. 4. Now you have to start wiggling the headlight unit to get it out, it is now only held in place by 2 location pins which are attached to the rear of each unit and they locate into 2 location holes on the car. This is a wee bit tricky and requires a combination of persistence and 'balls'! Be firm but very carefull not to mark the bodywork around that area as the unit comes out. 5. Once the unit is free of the location points unclip all the electrical connections for each bulb. It is very usefull to have another set of hands to help at this point and throughout to be honest. The battery can be removed for the passenger side headlight for ease of access but I didn't bother. 6. After the connections are off then simply and carefully manipulate the headlight to lift it free of the car. Watch that bodywork! 7. Get the oven on at around 80 degrees. I went for the oven method as I felt that it evenly heats up the whole unit in one go. 8. When working with the headlight out off the car make sure it is placed on a very soft surface, like a towel, as the outer lense is very easily scratched or marked. 9. Remove all the little screws holding the 2 halfs of the headlight unit together. There are 9, but 2 are discretely hidden, 1 is under a sticky flappy bit and the other is under a plastic bit held with another different screw, holding that in place. So thats 9 of the same type of screw and 1 of another type. 10. Now pop the headlight in the oven and make yourself a cup of tea. After about 5 - 10 mins the mastic holding the 2 halfs of the unit together should be plyable enough to pull them apart, again carefull as you go. If it is not soft enough then just pop the headlight back into the oven and keep an eye on it. The headlight will not get hot enough so that you can't handle it with bare hands just incase you were wondering. I was using white cotton gloves so that I didn't mark anything. 11. Once the unit is split there is one more screw holding the orange lense in place, so remove that and the offending tango wedge of doom and frizbe it straight into the bin. Plastic recycle bin of course. Carefull not to touch anything else inside the headlight unit. 12. Now apply your fresh line of mastic and squeeze the unit back together. 13. Replace all screws that you previously removed. 14. Change any bulbs that require changing. Do this with a clean cloth or clean cotton gloves, do not handle bulbs with bare fingers or anything dirty. Only split one headlight at a time so the other one is handy for a reference in case you get stuck. Re-fitting into car is simply a reverse of removing. Be very carefull not to damage any bodywork as you go. I thought the re-fitting was easier than the removal bit. Any hoo's that pretty much how I did it and it looks fantastic.
  12. The RB320.............. .........my favorite.
  13. Great job. Good write up too. Wish I had came over on Sunday for a closer inspection and a natter, next time though.....
  14. Congratulations. Its hard work, but good work.
  15. Great pics Ross I did spend most of that morning cleaning the car but the journey through to Falkirk killed it. especially the wheels Next time I will drive through at 15mph........
  16. Hey another name to a face. Me, my good lady Lindsy and my young son Ricky spoke to you and your good lady just before we left. You may have had to wipe the drool off your bonnet. I see your girl trying to duck under the window in the photo , camera shy eh....... Catch up with you both again next time, that car is a cracker, enjoy!
  17. Not STI Pretenders. Did speak to the couple, very friendly. Not members of the club (at the moment). Friends of Duncan from Hypertech. The car is currently putting out around 400bhp, very nice.
  18. Good show today people. Managed to speak to a few people that we didn't already know, must be more forward in future meets. Only disapointment of the day was that I didn't manage to bump into Jonboywrx and say "well done matey". Anyways here's a few pics from the meet, every car was lovely but my faves were the two RB320's, beautifull.
  19. Congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your baby daughter Lucy.
  20. The car is mint. Sitting nice on the new Teins. Love the little video clip too, sounds sweet.
  21. 1. If your sidelights won't switch off look for the parking light switch on top of the steering column . 2.Use the search function on the forum before asking the same old question . 3. The best first mod for an impreza is the exhaust (backbox at least) 4. Buy a classic 5. Make sure you get regular quality oil / filter changes every 3 - 4000 miles 6. Always run the car on good quality fuel - V Power/BP Ultimate/Tesco 99 and add octane booster for safety in an unremapped import 7. Avoid "chip"ing an impreza - get it remapped by an expert like AndyForrest (Apexi for classics, ECUtek for newage) 8. Sell the Newage and buy a Classic 9. Always wait till the engine is nice and warm before giving it full pelt and let it cool down befrore switching it off 10. Upgrade your brakes before modding the engine 11. A VTA dumpvalve isnt really a good idea unless your car is getting remapped to compensate for it. It will momentarily make your car run rich as the ecu gives fuel for air which has been dumped and not recirculated. All you are missing is the gay noise. 12. Solid rear droplinks and a decent suspension geometry set-up are probably one of the best sub-£100 modifications you can do to a standard car. 13. new ages will undertseer when at the limit 14. If you have a classic get Strutt Braces. The improvement is outstanding! If you have a new age...no luck! loL! 15. Clean out the boost solenoid once in a while and dont fill engine oil right up to max. 16. Go to the SIDC track days at knockhill, you get free tuition from an instructor if you want (plus ensure you wear Cat boots far better that way!!!!) 17. Love every minute of driving and owning it (it will make handing over the credit card much easier 18. Goto meets/Knockhill/Crail and tell us who you are?We don't bite sometimes 20. Join the SIDC and you'll get discounts on insurance and dealer supplied parts in addition to track days. 19. For some obscure reason there is a lot of mention of goats & homosexuals in here. Do NOT let this put you off our forums. 99% of our members are "normal" but we are all fans of The Hoff. 20. Always prefill the oil filter when doing an oil change 21. Dont believe everything you read on the forums. 22. Send off for a Shell card 23. What ever BHP you get, you will never be happy 24. BLUE is the best colour. 25. Is your car standard? - leave it that way. 26. Watch out for the Impreza's "lift-off" oversteer. It's wicked, particularly on a wet Knockhill! 27. wave to other scoob drivers 28. never buy a set of lexus rear lights[+o(] 29. sidc love some photography of your beloved 30. dont sell your scoob you will regret it and will end up with another 1 31. The best place to hang out on saturday nights is at OSIDC 32. Modding is for MEN 33. Going JDM is for winners..........leave the chocolate UK's to the Willy Wonka lovers! 34.^^Andy speaks the truth, JDM is the way forward!! 35. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid and don't mod what doesn't need modding (dump valves etc) 36.NEVER let the other half known how much youve spent on the car.she will be jelious! 37. Dont go to Halfords for your servicing parts - they are more likely to give you filters for a lada or skoda. 38. the bright button really does just make the clock brighter 39. Never believe anything read on Ebay 40. Never buy a impreza when you get 10 spare ST2 (spaceman) 41. CLASSIC ARE The GREATEST IMPREZA BUILT. 42. Try not run your impreza top end as the boxes dont last long(went through 3 last time) 43. Believe the petrol gauge - yes it does use that much! 44. if you have mudflaps watch when reversing near kirbs or they get caught on wheels and bye bye back bumper 45. Your steering wheel lock isn't broken, you're supposed to have to turn it 180 degrees before it engages. 46. Boost solenoid 'chatter' isn't necessarily indicative of a fault (although the Scoob moguls say it can be eradicated the by above-mentioned cleaning). 47. Uneven tyre wear is common. 48. 10 miles use out of a set of newage shocks isn't unheard of - but if you're still under warranty, they're covered. 49. The rear proximity alarm (on newer Imprezas) tells blatant lies in the rain. 50. Door panels dent quite easily. 51. It's won't stop entertaining you on twisty roads! 52. Never use the standard horn in an aggressive manner in a road rage situation, you will just look silly!!
  22. This is shaping up nicely. We haven't been to a meet since last summer as the Fife scene is very quiet at the moment. Also working shifts often interferes with the Thursday night meets anyways.
