  1. It's called The Dalveen Pass, A702 between the M74 and A76
  2. If it doesn't sell, which I believe it will, then it'll be used to wrap an 05 STI
  3. Production problems have led to the release date being pushed back
  4. Best get a reliable gauge first, 5psi wouldn't pin you back!
  5. If you are sure you've put it back correctly, which you may not have, then your boost solenoid must be stuck. Do you have any carb cleaner or such like? Spray some into the solenoid and try again, give it a few gentle taps with something. What car is it you have again?
  6. So, if you put it back to standard configuration you've lost your 20psi?
  7. Sorry, found the other thread - what's been done since it had 20psi?
  8. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the changes you made, is there another thread?
  9. Bit hasty there Lets try a few things first. It's not easy when you're not looking at it. First up, how are you measuring boost?
  10. The noise could be from brake bind, again it'll need checking to be sure. I'm not familiar with the WRX rear discs, many cars have the abs ring mounted on the inner hub part of the disc or hub. It is possible that this was damaged during the fit but I can't say for sure. Jack it up and check for bind, if there is none, then it's safe to drive - abs is a supplementary braking device, however, be aware that abs triggering as you nearly stop may cause your stopping distance to increase slightly, i.e. you could overshoot a junction
  11. Don't think the restictor missing stops boost Graeme, it just makes it less smoothly controlled?
  12. What boost do you get with the car's own boost solenoid fitted? The boost solenoid, and your bleed valve do the same thing, bleed air away from the wastegate actuator keeping it closed for longer and increasing boost. Your bleed valve can't be bleeding enough off, or your wastegate is stuck open?
  13. And so time passes by....... Another wee bit done this week, just not nearly enough! Carrying out small mods takes a lot of thought, then research, then thought again to ensure it's effective, worthwhile and NOT gonna break or be needed at a later date! Between the last stint and this I have thought a lot of things through, had some new stuff ordered courtesy of my sponsors and made adjustments to my order of operations.... Need to get the engine & box and fuel system back in and operational before I cut any more wiring from the car. The MY05 STI has quite a complicated immobiliser system and if anything comes out that stops the car from running it may be a nightmare to resolve. Once these are back in I can remove one bit at a time, testing it's effect before snip snip I've got some work to do on the shell before these go back in so plenty to do for now, just need to find the time The little progess this week consisted of some minor work on the engine, a bit of checking and more listing of 'to dos' I removed the alternator and power steering pump and their brackets. I'm gonna relocate the alternator to tidy things up a little and take the weight down a little bit too Behind the power steering is the PCV, this is the purge control valve for fuel vapour, all emissions guff which includes a pipe to the rear, vent into the inlet manifold, pipe work at the tank and that charcoal filter which hangs under the o/s/r chassis leg. It's already off in the above pic, but the plug and pipework can be seen below the throttle cable bracket. It's all in the bin! Well, a box just in case it's worth something It remains to be seen if this will throw an EML.... Couple of smaller details - Two throttle cable positions on the Impreza, only just found out one is for sharper throttle response, was always happy with mine as it was so a quick strip down, spacer made and it now looks like this And in the same area - The throttle cable bracket has two positions, or should I say had! (oops on the focus ) I took the decision some years back to remove what had no real purpose, big bits came out left right and centre, saving weight and not taking much time to do. The mods this year see a more focused application of this thinking. No matter how small it all counts in the end. So every thing that can be removed will be. And before anyone says it: anything which makes the car too much of a pain to live with, or takes away from the rally rep look, stays Next up - Another partially redundant bracket gets streamlined Sorted out some other bits and bobs around the engine, again left with some stuff to do and waiting for parts. More next week.
  14. Sounds like a few issues Mark... Handbrake is adjusted too tight to start with - can you jack it up when cold and see if rear wheels turn or have bind? Brake squeal may be binding handbrake shoes, or just the pads, aftermarket pads can do this. The kickback on the pedal is an abs fault. Most commonly this occurs with broken abs rings, only a slight split but as the speed comes down the split is effectively bigger as far as the ecu is concerned and it releases the brake on that wheel giving the kick back. I'm not sure which type abs rings are on a bug, perhaps someone knows. All of the above are just possibilities, further checks required. A serious bind, will give you heat, which could cause issues too. Hope this helps, a trip back to the fitter is your only real course of action, despite your confidence probably fading
  15. 60 bald head wigs for Dave's Kojak themed Fling dinner?
  16. My Scooby is a fair weather toy, six months on and six off..... I use my Skoda Superb as my daily driver, whilst Ann has her Clio and for the bad stuff I have an old Nissan Terrano parked up ready to conquer all
