  1. That's fair enough, but a good paint job, and a colour change at that, will be three times the price of vinyl - looking forward to seeing the outcome
  2. Welcome to SIDC, you can temporarily use some washers behind the spring to change it's effective strength, that'll at least let you confirm your suspicions before shelling out
  3. Got to agree Euan, waste of money - best thing you can do to save fuel is buy another car and keep your Scoob for 'special occasions' when fuel economy isn't important!
  4. Hello and welcome, nice looking Blob (aren't they all ) Did you come and speak to us? We'll see you at Combe in 2013 then Prepare to spend more
  5. Get some prices, you get what you pay for, paint and vinyl wise, a good paint job will be way dearer than vinyl.
  6. Never run in heels you said Dave! Prevention is better than cure Lewis, breaking a shaft launching away from McDonalds drive thru is a tad embarrassing!
  7. Time passes way too quickly - at this rate I'm not going to be ready for The Fling - never mind April 1st Had to get the engine up onto the stand so it's both safe and able to be worked at! Since it was now split from the front x-member I stripped it down removing the rack, brace and front A/R/B. I can work at modifying this slightly later before I get it powder coated to prolong it's life. I also split a rear driveshaft in order to measure it. Through other contacts on 22b.com there are uprated shafts available made from a harder material. These have been made to classic spec, I'm still awaiting info on the chances of them being the same. Either way I may be looking to upgrade these as a precaution..... I also got back to the wiring. I finished stripping the extras from the rear loom and made a start on the front. It's a massive task for little gain but needs must. It also gives me time to look around the inside of the shell and see just how much isn't needed! Wiring first though, must stick at it Also received some more parts, upgraded gearshift bush kit from AS Performance, again excellent service from Alyn. I also have a hydraulic handbrake, WRC style, which will be mounted in due course, no pics for now on that one. That's all for this update, it's gonna be a slow few weeks whilst I work at this wiring
  8. There literally are hunners Matty, what kind you wanting?
  9. Welcome to SIDC - nice introduction, great car and a cool pic!
  10. Something obscure your view? Forget your glasses? Foggy down your way? Typo?
  11. Is your zimmer collapsable then Euan, or does it fit in whole?
  12. Don't be tempted, be going! It's a great few days and you'll only ever wish you had n't bought a hatch Just kidding, the new saloon elevated the hatch out of the mocking zone. All comers welcome whatever you drive
  13. Get a full vinyl wrap in white - if you don't like you can remove
  14. Petrol cans at the ready I just watched this video of Brian's from last year, sums the whole thing up nicely I think Dave, add it to the first post of the Fling Thread, makes for a good advert
  15. No cage for me Graeme, there's no point at this stage. If the car was to be used for motorsport then I would, and I have considered it, but as it stands all a cage would do is ensure a quicker death without a crash helmet. That and think of all that weight to lug around! I think it would have to be a custom cages, self fitted, if I ever was to do it.
  16. Welcome to SIDC. Try and get some photos up before they hound you to death
  17. Nice bit of moderation there Gus How you feeling today squire?
