  1. Hey, every little helps. I'm like a 6 year old kid at christmas eve- canny wait until things start coming together and all that! Cheers Barry
  2. Sounds amazing. The NOS will be even more amazing, just to spool the turbo up. Well jealous!! I think you might be able to keep up with my wagon, once your old block and other sexy bits are bolted togther and in. LOL. Be going in soon hopefully? Mr. Whiston and Barry take note...... I shall be bugging you soon! Ha ha
  3. Glad you are chuffed. How is she on the road? What's happening with the NOZ then?
  4. Hope all goes well. So will I get lunch if I come along too? Lol. Hurry up and post todays results.
  5. I had similar with a wee 'go faster' ford puma I was selling a few years back. A guy and his daughter travelled from the Highlands to Edinburgh and looked around the car, which was clean as a whistle. They were very pleased with it and rich daddy then tried to get £500 of the price. He whacked out a big wad of cash and laid it on the coffe table! I pushed it back to his side and told him I wasn't taking anything off the price. He then put another £100 down like something of a game show, counting out five £20 notes slowly and adding them to the pile. As the car was priced to sell quick and I could honestly have advertised it for a few hundred more. He put his cash away and told me he was sorry he's wasted our time travelling all that way and off they went heading home to the Highlands, Nairn direction I think. I was a bit annoyed with his cheek. Then 2 hours later they arrived back at the door. Gave me my asking price and f**ked off in under 10 minutes. Just goes to show what a spoiled 25 year old daughter can do! Then I put his 4k towards buying my scoob...
  6. Apex is where I got mine from a while ago. It wasn't on a group buy, but I did get a wee bit off rrp. Mind and get a roll centre adjustment kit too. I got all my other parts and info from Cusco Kid on here. Ryan
  7. It's the basic ones you want to go for, BR ones maybe? Can't remember there correct name! Cheapest of the types, about 600 iirc? As for spring rate, I can't remember exactly what it was. But 4/5kg rings a bell as being the more popular choice for road use. That what I have. Someone else will put you right on the above if any it is far off! Ryan
  8. Looking good. Only a week until Mr. Forrest climbs in with his headphones on and laptop in tow! Fingers crossed for you man, hope she gets to full potential! Are you driving it personally when being mapped this time? Ryan
  9. I lowered my wagon on bc's too. Done previous cars with springs and ended up with lower ride, but suffered comfort. So I never wanted to do this to my Scoob, went the bc route as you can slam her right down or somewhere in the middle. Comfort is very slightly sacrafised over standard, probably as stiff as sti standard stuff or prodrive springs. Having the option to crank the dampers up a bit is great, for a wee back road blast. Or to dislodge a kidney stone!! Road noise is a tad up, but to be expected with solid top mounts. I fitted these, anti lift kit, roll centre kit, drop links and strut braces. As said, on the softer settings handling around town is not much different comfort wise, but is very much improved on the open road! Pot holes at lower speeds feel sore though! I'd recommend saving for coilovers to give yourself best of both worlds. I also eventually got 'fast road' geometry settings. This made her even more grippy in the bends. Ryan ps. Mines is an 02 bug wagon too.
  10. Aha, you'll not be wanting my h&s one noo?
  11. I sometimes get a whine from outside the windscreen area. As mentioned above, only when I'm doing 50mph and have a 50+ mph wind towards me!!!! I've put it down to something to do with the windscreen seal or wiper arms, with the air that's passing over them. To be honest, mine doesn't always do it in the 3 digit speeds, sometimes it's quiet until near 60mph plus 80mph head wind! It's defo nothing mechanical. I've heard of someone else's doing this too. Nothing to worry about I think? Your car is a newage as mine is? Mines is a bugeye. I'm based in Edinburgh near the fort if you need a (novice) second opinion. Ryan
  12. I agree, the mobile version is good and seems a wee bit faster to navigate. Enjoying...
  13. I take it, you had 2 pipes running into the expansion bottle and that? Or was one blanked off or what? Cheers
  14. I've just bought an aluminium rad for my bugeye. Having a quick look up against the oe rad it has all the same bolt holes, inlet and outlet positions etc. BUT it has a filler cap on the top! Is it ok to fit this and have 2 caps and 2 expansion bottle feeds? I have emailed the company I got it from, but its maybe a bit late in the day to get a reply noo. Ryan
  15. I'd be up for trying this. After my 2.5 conversion. Ryan
  16. Ahh?? Your's is a newage aswell, isn't it? It was Stevie that mention getting a set, he never mentioned anything about modding the standard ones. I'll need to ask him I thinks. Thanks HI JAC Ryan
  17. Got myself a 1.1L bottle and mounting cage for it. Day off work on Thursday, original bits coming oot and new effort going in. Pics to follow after its done. Ryan
  18. Dull one. Could have been alot more nasty by the looks of things. Glad everyone is okay though. You'll all be rather shaken up after that one! Ryan
  19. welcome aboard. Get some pics up and I'll keep an eye out for you about Edinburgh. Wherer abouts in Edinburgh?
  20. if you have a bugeye, then you'll have the same setup. The radiator has no filler cap on it. The header tank or whatever you call it for this is next to the airbox area. The small rubber hose comes out from the top of the filler neck just under the cap and goes along the top of the rad to the mentioned expansion bottle. If you don't have a bugeye, I assume that the radiator will have a filler cap on and there will be a similar hose that leads from the top of the rad to an expansion bottle? I'm no expert or even half an expert either. But going by an educated guess, I think I'm going to source a suitable 'bike bottle' and 'bike bottle holder' and give this a bash. Run it for a few days around town and if everything goes okay I'll make it a new fixture to my engine bay, via the power of some pop rivets! Unless anyone puts me right before tomorrow....? Ryan
  21. Think you are a little off. This expansion bottle has identical plastic and clip on cap to the washer bottle. Nothing to do with holding hot, steamy water. Maybe just warm, but no pressure involved. I think it takes the hot water from the cooling system as it expands. As for pipe work, it is rubber hose around 8-10mm and is just popped in through a hole in the top, losse. No other pipes or hoses going in or out! But surely any abs quality plastic bottle would do. If it can be whacked in a dish washer and steamed, then a little hot water wont bother it. The bottle on the car looks to hold roughly 1-1.5L of coolant. With a max an min markings, should be easy enough to measure and remark another bottle with similar markings. Someone on here has got to have used a non standard bottle in a similar way? Ryan
  22. I've managed to get it somehow working fine on my mobile now. Actually seems a tad easier to navigate with my touchscreen than the old version! Thumbs up from me... Ryan
  23. I don't think they hold high pressure. I might be wrong though! I mean it looks just like the windscreen washer bottle- same type of snap on plastic cap and just a rubber hose going in through the cap. This is not sealed etc. So wouldn't hold much pressure in, I don't think? Ryan
  24. Totally get your point. Just looking for some mixed opinions and pointers. Also to see what other members have fitted to their newage. Cheers Ryan
  25. Yeah, I had similar thoughts to yours. Someone will know if it's possible swap or what? Hope it is, because it will be more straight forward than trying to reinstall the standard bottle. Ryan
