  1. LOL! aye good on im' That would have been Graeme.. He officially had the quietest car at Alford the other week
  2. Great pics!! Car's lookin good too
  3. Made them myself... One off Felt the need to do somethgin special for the event.. They will be peeled off After next weekend... Having "If if doubt flat out" plastered across the side of an impreza will no doubt attract the attention of the local police... Even if it is driven sensibly...
  4. Well it's a bit late for any objections!! .. best try keep a low profile this week..
  5. Dammit you guys.. I'm usually in bed by 9pm (I know way too early but got early starts) but cannae sleep thinkin about the McRae Gathering .. Is this how it's going to be for the next 10 days... Eeep!
  6. Lol! no don't panic (not unless Mr Brown reads this and get's ideas)... I was saying it "could" and I wouldnt care but there's no indication that it will.. Infact last I heard the price of oil dropped 40% this month...
  7. Agreed... Total waste of money doing this gathering (from a financial point of view)..... But...the cost of fuel coudl rise to over £2/litre next week and I wouldn't care I'd still do it... Credit card is already filled up after buying new tyres and various other bits last month.. and it's gonna be full again after this... (Not good) but I don't care about that.. This is something that has to be done.. This sort of event will NEVER happen again!!! This is purely a one off! And I'll be damned if I'm missing it! Especially after the effort you guys have put into it BTW - Motorway driving at 60-mph is probably the most economical way to drive the impreza! Last year I drove down to Southampton from Elgin some 600+mile trip , admittedly probably a little more than 60mph, and used just over 1 and a half tanks of fuel! Ok my car seems more economical than most at 270miles a tank on the daily commutes, but even still!
  8. Whoops! don't mean to hi-jack the thread but.. Wadda think about this:
  9. Nah keep it.. Sure it looks crowded but it's going to be a mad event as it is!! But you have given me inspiration to put the same design across the side of my car for the weekend.. Hmnn... (Undecided if I'm gonna sticker it up or not....) BTW - Dunno where your getting your vinyl from but I'd reccomend Victory-design.co.uk.. That's where I get mine from... Delivery is a bit steep for order under £100 though
  10. Imy, I don't think you have anything to worry about! Not unless there is a massive fuel shortage in teh next week I'm really keen to see how many folk tehre will actualyl be there! It's almost guaranteed to have some sort of fall of... but... remember lat year? what were we expecting 70-80 cars.. and assuming a sensible drop off down to 40-50 cars.. yet we ended up with 130 HUGE number of cars for what was a quick organisation... I wasn't origonally goign to go down until about 2 days before And I certainly ain't gonna miss this if I can help it! - Cannae wait! Just hope the weather comes out for us
  11. There was a genuine look on Platos place that he was gonna take the front of the evo clean off! And Needles clearly didn't expect him to coem in as late as he did.. Maybe at first kept the door open to let him past but didn't expect him to end hte end! Certainly was a good bit of telly! Goes to show they can get it wrong!! On teh review point... WHy o why cant TG / 5g to decent review these days.. What ever happened to the 4th gear bugeye review and tg blobeye reviews where they road tested the cars then saw how they faired ont eh track? I have yet to see a road test of hte STi.. Is it really marketing as a track car!?! Also the 5g review was biased to the point that I think they wanted to concentrate on teh cfact hte Imrpeza is no longer the understeery sod it's alwayhs been previously.. But they went too far as showed it as a fun oversteery car Flick the diff down a notch or 2 and it will easily go roudn corners as finely tined as the evo! IMHO
  12. Yikess! Can't really help as it seems you've had the best local peopel look it over already.. However I'd also suggest giving Prodrive a bell first thing on Monday... I know, not normal advice, but they are pretty much responsible for the car being what it is and it clearly shouldn't be using the same amout of oil as fuel
  13. Me too! as you mentioned on the Snet thread, it's saved the cost of a respray with Damn good results... Takes a bit off effort, but if you willing to do the worth rather than throw £1000's at a paint shop it's well worth the money!! Looks good enough for me... Great attention to detail on the first scooby! And with e PDG your sorted! Chances of doing any "damage" to a car's paint is pretty much none!
  14. Yeah they do the ssame crap down here! And this year I've seen serious accidents as a direct result of the dodgy surface.. Couple taken to hospital! Car spinning a 270 just ourside my house!! And I evenfound myself a little sideways coming out a junction taking it easy! That was after havign a rover driver coem up behidn me and pass me on the straight, throwing peas all over my car! BTW - check the suspension struts! I took soo many handfulls of stones from there when I did a check! I couldn't believe how many stones I collected between the coils of the springs! Which woudl inevetably be causign damage!!! Unbelievable.. Annoyingly the Local Police Don't seem to want to comment on it.... And I'm generally in favour of Police actions... We often have large lorries along my road which is fairly narrow and if that car outside my house foudn itself at that angle as a truck was coming! Almost certain fatality!!!!!
  15. If seen "so called" professionals with less equipment than that!! But it's not the stock, it's how you use it that counts I'm curious to see some of your work mate! I'm sure it's top notch!
  16. Actually come to think of it... Ok it's not local to the central belt.. But Polished Bliss, just outside Aberdeen woudl do a damn fine job of that if you can't find anywhere else...
  17. if I had a few more cars under my belt I'd be putting my grubby.. Sorry clean, hands on it! Did my brothers RB320 last year by hand and looked ace! Next time I see it it'll be machine polished! and a full clean all round! I'll kill im if he's used a regular sponge to wash it!! Could have doen a better job as I had to do it outdoors between rainstorms.. Grrr
  18. That pretty much sums it up.... Very moving......
  19. Bleedin ell!!! Nice one! The guy you bought it from will be pretty peeved as he was using it for his little run about FYI - Here's a photo of Toby's car: Is that the same wing/flaps and decal on the boot? P.s. welcome to the new-age club
  20. Well well well! Despite the last minute dash to get things orgnaised, I'd say that was a good day! Interesting to see if we get any new visitors to the site or not but certainly a good few folk having a nosey in and around the cars with interest! And a few picking up leaflets Thanks to Peter W, for getting our foot in the door and ScoobyDoom for the last minute dash getting the Poster/Banner, ID sheets & leaflets made up at the last minute! Nice one! Good effort given what we had to work with! It's clear if we're going to continue getting involved with events like this (which I hope we do) then we're gonna need to get our own SIDC banners and marquees and stuff in the area! Suggestions welcome! Anyhoo.. Onto some piccies! Nice to see Peter W taking his really smart Mondeo along! And a couple others..: Was nice to see some of the guys come up to us at the start to see what we were doing with all those cleaning products
  21. Depends on the error.. Some dissapear if the fault no longer exists.. others stay on for several days/restarts whereas others are permanent.. The code will be stored on the ECU as a "history" code so you can still at least find out what it was...
  22. Hi mate... Depends what sort of ODB2 device it is... I use a tactrix cable with software called ECU Explorer... It may or may not work: http://code.google.com/p/ecuexplorer/downloads/list BTW - for a quick ECU code check, I'd hope they would do it for nout especially so close after the service.. It only takes a few sconds to plug in the device and read a code..
  23. Boing! Ok 9:45 -> 10am tomorrow morning at hte Fochabers square.. South side, unless there's no spaces... Easier to turn left out from there...
  24. I hate reading this thread, more names getting added by the day.... I'm still going! (Unless my o2 sensor packs in completely before then.....)
  25. What's fochabers square like first thing on a sunday morning?
