The aim of the mobile camera units is not to detect speeders but to remind drivers of the dangers of inappropriate speed and of the need to slow down. Safety camera signs at the side of the road to inform you that there is a history of collisions and high speed on the route so you should reduce your speed and take particular care. All safety camera sites covered by Partnership have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. However, drivers may from time to time see mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works.
  3. that's quality! Just think of that phat pidgeon tapping away at your bedroom window all night, waiting.... just waiting.....
  4. He'd better be there in a SUBARU! Forecast was for rain a few days ago but its looking like the weather is going to clear up a bit for the weekend and with temps of 15C rumoured
  5. Nice! Quite keen on a future mod to add some colour to the WRX interior.. At least the STi's have blue door cards to brighten the place up! WRX is all black..
  6. Yep all that should be declared on insurance. As repeated above, 'IF' you have to make a claim or someone makes a claim against you and the vehcile is found to have anything on it that wasn't fromteh factory (event optional parts!) the insurance can be deemed void. That's not just void on teh parts, that's the entire car, effectively uninsured! So thinkg about it, your paying a few hundred quid and your still not insured! Best to be safe. Depending on the compnay and circumstances, some companies will still cover you so long as you pay an additional excess.. This is above the compilsary and voluntary, think of it as a fine for not delcaring the car properly! But not sure how keen insurance companies are to do this nowadays. IT's cheaper for them just to declare the policy void. More and more isurance companies are cutting back on insuring modifications.. From previous experience, Elephant/admiral are good for standard cars, or up to about 3 non performance related modifications (E.g. bodywork/backbox/airfilter type things they are usually ok with). If your car is modified, particularly if you've gone down teh remapping route it's worth going through a specialist broker to get het best deal.. As mentioned above the likes of Keith Michaels and Sky are very happy with modifications, they won;t put your costs up, so there shoudl be no harm in telling them everything.. I have a rather long document sitting on my computer which I copy to them each year with the latest changes, no matter hos insignificant it may be. Including stating uprated bulbs in teh headlights! Maybe taking it a bit far but still, if I ever need to use the insurance, I don't want there to be any doubt! Had one company last year ask me for photos of the car from all angles inside and out! But sadly after all that they decided they wouln't insure the impreza because it had over 10% more power than standard.. They were happy with everything else but that.. re-Ramp, all new suspension, headlights, wheels, interior, exterior, upgraded intake pipes, intercooler, decatted exhaust parts all fine. But if it lead to more than 10% power.. nope
  7. As above. but the one I keep forgetting about is a single one tucked away just behind the lower grille accessable from underneith the car right at the front of the undertray. YOu just can't give that poor boy any peace can you?
  8. OOps!! The one thing you need to lookout for on the A96 and A9 in tems of queues of traffic is that there isn't and unmarked patrol car at the front.. They like doing that.. Perticularly like sitting infront of busses and lorries so when you overtake they sit waiting for you.. Naty technique and they should really be keeping the speed up IMHO. .. On the other hand, I've seen marked up panda cars going at 70+ on these roads with no indication on an emergency, that's just he cruising speed they are doing so.....
  9. I'm not a huge fan of plain CF looking stuff. But if it's colour coded and the weave is showing through slightly.. Strangely I think that's a really nice effect
  10. Ask them nicely if thei'll do a quick check for ya.. Sadly I'm not planning on heading over that way until the Flign next weekend or I could check it for you
  11. WTF! My last tank was 19.6!!! .. (Usually get around 24mpg)
  12. Find someone local who's willing to plug a code reader into the car and let it tell you what's up What part of the world are you from? (see if there's anyone on here local which as a code reader)
  13. True Grip! I also get Total Impreza.. Sometimes pick up EVO if there's something interesting in it.
  14. Quite like that stype of bonnet.. But onyl certain cars can truely pull it off... You "might" jsut get away with it! Busy watchign F1 qualy at the mometn otherwise I'd go googling for some photos of it fitted. BTW - SOunds liek your in for a busy week! THat's me pretty much ready now. GOt one last 'test session' on Wednesday as I take a trip through to Fraserburgh
  15. On the panic buyign front.. it's worth noting that had there not been panic buying the govenment would have to conceed that hte country was falling back into recession again.. The panic buying generated enough income right at the end of the financial year for them to just hit above the cut-off... .. Maybe there was madness in their method afterall
  16. True.. that deesn't help the panic buying.. And yeah local stations were blocked out onto the main A96 a couple weeks back with peopel goign mad! Annoyingly I filled up with T99 the other day and now developed a misfire on the car Grrr!
  17. Should be safe... Next round of talks are on Monday and they need to give at least 7 days notice for a strike, so if anythign is goign to happen it'll be after the fling
  18. Hi John, Welcome Check out the main event thread here for full details -
  19. Mine came in within a few days! Mind you that was around 4 1/2 years ago
  20. In which case it will just have the cat in the downpipe. The center pipe will already be decatted. Having just one cat in the downpipe should happily pass MOT's..
  21. Lo All, Thought it was about time to post a suggested meet point in Elgin for those coming through from the north-east on the Satuday Morning. (Not sure how many folks are coming from this corner of the world but never mind...) Looking to depart Elgin no later than 8:15am!!. I know that may seem early, but gives plenty of time to get through to Inverness, via the shell garage at Raigmore and back down to Start point again with plenty of time to settle down before departure at 10am. If everyone on the list is there early we can head off early Elgin Convoy Meet - Tesco Carpark, Elgin 8:00am - Saturday 28th April 1. ScoUK 2. 3. 4. 5.
  22. Ok little confused.. DOes the car have PPP or not? But to answer the question. The STi will have 2 cats.. One in the downpipe (just after the turbo) and another in the center pipe. PPP will remove the cat in the center pipe, just leaving the one in the downpipe.
  23. No harm in private plates so long as it's put on a decent car.. Havign a beat up old corsa with private plates looks BAD! THe plate should NEVER be more valuable than the car.. Impreza, with private plate.. Nothign wrong it it.. Particularly when they are the sort of car that lasts forever so showing or hiding the age really doesn't matter, Impreza's are iconic and Timeless.. .. Having a Litchfield with a standard plate just seems wrong somehow Where are you seeing £135? Is that private? I'd be surprised if you can get a legitimate deal chaper than direct form DVLA.. Remember DVLA costs are all in. Most other #plate sellers DON'T include the full cost of registration and transfers!
