  1. Funnily enough.. I seem to remember Rich saying he was struggled to keep up with my WRX on the BBQ run to craithie a few years back.. Admitedly he hadn't long had the raptor at that point Have to say, my car felt really on form that day, really chuckable!. Currently looking at softening up the dampers to get the car a bit more 'feeling' back into it.
  2. Is that the Type-R getting some work done? Or you got another project on the go? Nice one! Sure has. Looks like they did something useful this time
  3. Woohoo! Couple options there then.. And another name coming out of hiding Managed to find the cat pipe today.. It's covered in cobwebs and could be doign with a wire brush as it's been sitting aroud for 3-4 years.. But available if you need a shotty.. Also it'll either need a bung or sensor to be put in to plug the hole.. Not really been up to much scoobyness this year.. Got chopped up again by the medics again in May so pretty much wrote this year off.. Hopefully be able to get out in the summer in 2012 What about yer sell'? You still got the raptor tucked away somewhere?
  4. Lo min! Was wonderin what you were up to these days! Not got a downpipe but I think I should have a catted center section somewhere.. Might be worth dropping ScoobyDoom a note.. He's mucking around with exhaust cats at the moment to get throuh an MOT and may has somethign lying aroudn that you can share to get cars throguh
  5. For me a black Hawkeye STi with Silver alloys 'was' the winner.. But this is just spot on! IMHO Perfect looking Impreza for the modern age.... Such a shame they dropped the impreza name
  6. And looks soooooo much better because of it!
  7. Supposedly a measly 320bhp and 318lb-ft. so not much of a increase in power over the STi.. And a little dissappointing since the RB320 has similar power and more torque @ 332lb-ft Couple more piccies of the NBR

  9. Just seen one of hte best comments about the new saloon: "finally.. they gave the dear scoobie an ass.. now i can date her."

  10. That's what I was thinking.. Ok not much to it bit cheaper than many aftermarket backboxes! May end up sounding somethign like this?:
  11. he hee... I'll be goign for the brightest T-shirt award this year
  12. And that was in the WRX last time! As above the less progressive group is more normal everyday driving rather than spirited.. Due to the natute of some of the roads at points it's not suitable to drive rapido anyway and sometimes the two groups bunch up again.. Cant remember hte MPG I was getting but it was much better than I'd expected.. Genearlly If I fill up in Inverness, Top up at the end of day 1 I've been able to complete day 2 and get home to elgin and still have fuel to spare.. I might have managed the Inverness > Inverness loop on a single tank but I woudl have been running on fumes.. Oh and there's no V-Power / T99 further north of Inverness, so Octane booster is reccomended if you need that sort of stuff.. Usually check for locations of Super Unleaded ont he route beforhand.. If your are gonna come up all the way.. WOudl reccomend takign it easy up the Motorway stay overnight in glasgow/perth or something on the thursday, tag along with the group from perth(ish?) up to inverness on teh friday (if that's what's happening again) then saturday off to wherever, sunday back to Inv at about 3pm? then head back down the road again, so maybe another stop off for you on the sunday night. A lot of driving over a few days and may not be suitable to drive all teh way back down teh road on the sunday..
  13. Mine seems to read a little low.. Actualy MPG seems to be about 3-4mpg higher than the scangauge displays.. But you can calibrate it for hte car so it's more accurate.. I swap mine between two cars so not able to calibrate it properly for the scoob. But it's all relative.. Good to hear your enjoying the car! Sounds like a BEAST!!
  14. Just finsihed 3-4 days of modding.. I'm nackered.. Please wait a day or so fora writeup! It's gonna be a good one!

sounds good Al! glad your modding fit again :D

  15. Looking good! That is a tidy looking machine! If my car wasn't in bits at the moment I'd offer to meet ya somewhere while your through this way.... Mibbie nest time.. No idea about the sweepy thing.. AFAIK it's a default option and not a case of enable/disabling it. When the ignition is off are the dials black or can you see the numbers? Ones that sweep go dark and look like 3 black discs on the dash until powered up.. Curious to know if you get an answer to that
  16. Snow socks aren't for winter driving as such.. They are a good option to get you through really harsh snow conditions. IIRC they are onyl rated up to 20-30mph.. And once you get down to hard black stuff they need to come off.. If your drive on roads that never get ploughed or gritted they are good for that! My commute to work involved having to drive the last mile of my journey on private road which has no traffic on it apart from me 1st thing int eh morning.. For that last mile the snowsocks could be of use. They shouldn't really be used on main roads except in extreme conditions.. One good example of their use woudl be getting our of your housign estate, particularly if it's on a slope. Fit the socks on to get you our of the housing estate onto a treated road then remove the socks.. I haven't used them but hear they can be pretty effective.. IMHO the AWD of the impreza if more than capable of keeping you moving. as long as your not running semi-slicks For the BMW I would say if you can bring yourself to get winter tyres for the rear then give the snow socks a try... Just don't do what this person did and fit snowchains to the front wheels
  17. Pretty much.. Wheels dropped off with with worn unbranded tyres and fresh set of winter tyres.. Came back with winter tyres fitted & wheels balanced.
  18. ha haaaa.. that's cool! Anyone care to confess? Difficult angle but looks like a McRae Gathering Sticker on the bonnet as well
  19. ditto... Made the mistake of trying to be cheap and replacing mine with NGK PFR 6b's couple years back.. Car was mostly fine but got the odd missfire on throttle going up hills.. Swapped them out with PFR 7b's few months back and it hasn't missed a beat! Seems to be a bit sharper with them too
  20. Well dropped the wheels and tyres off at TotalTrax on monday.. Picked up this afternoon and have to say.. Top Job! Some before and aftrer piccies.. Before: After: Will try keep them off the car an indoors for a few weeks to let the paint cure properly But lookin good so far! Pretty thorough job of cleaning the surface right back and starting from scratch! Good attention to detail even down to puttting the center caps back on in-line with the valve caps Cost? £70/wheel.. Which, sure there are cheaper places around but it's not a bad price IMHO.. Each wheel stripped of it's tyre, blasted, dipped, skimmed with wire brush before applying primer/paint/laquer. Then, winter tyres fitted and wheels balanced! All in a couple of days.. Wasn't to fussed about the speed part but good on him for doing it! Anyone Interested contact Stewart McNeill at TotalTrax, 07799 219451 - Located on Shore Street in Lossiemouth.. www.TotalTrax.co.uk
  21. Hahaa! was wondering how long it would take for you to sniff this thread out
  22. Nice! Love the way it 'looks' standard, when clearly that's only skin deep
  23. Is it wrong of me to have an urge to chase down police cars when I see them?

  24. Woohoo! Finally got a sandblasting cabinet up and running! Amazing what you can do with a couple old filing cabinets :P

  25. I used to use a couple stong planks of wood and some bricks underneith to give it a shallower slope to get onto the ramps.. Necessity is the mother of invention afterall That's really quite neat!! Not too badly priced.. Expected them to cost more than that TBH!
