Ok, back on the iPhone as it doesn't work on my pc in the office. Is on IE but don't know what version. I don't get any text in the posts, only the smilies.

Pretty useless on my iPhone. Second attempt at trying to post this. Only loads on half the screen. Old version much better. Will try it on a pc later though.

Mine looked fantastic but the lacquer failed after 6 months. Got them re-done earlier in the year by Auto Image on Great Western Road. 6 months on, they are still perfect.

It doesn't seem like 3 years. My lasting memory was the 1995 RAC Rally, standing in Kershope forest. Had been there since first light. The atmosphere was electric. Like nothing I have experienced on a rally before or since. McRae came though giving it some beans but with the wheel hanging off. Most thought the game was over but then word came from the radio car that he was second quickest in the stage, had made repairs on the road section using a log he found lying about and was now continuing in the lead. A legend, gone, but never forgotton.

The car is looking cracking Marko

That's where mine is on my 2002 car

Possibly on the underside of the cover over the spare wheel.

I have no problems with the .net forum as I am sure is the case with most people on here. I am sure the initial animosity re the .net forum came from the fact that the new forum in effect stole our established name of Scottish Scoobies. However, after the initial toys out the pram, the dust settled and we appear to co-exist happily most of the time. People on here post on .net and go to .net events. People on .net post on here and go to our events. We are all part of the Subaru community. There is no need for people on here to slag off the .net forum. That must work both ways however and there is no need for the current thread on .net where members on here are described as a bunch of t**ts, particularly as members of the admin team on .net are contributing to the thread. Clearly there is a guy driving about like a plank with some sort of stickers on the car but we don't know for where. Both forums agree he was driving like a plank and it gives the Subaru community a bad name so why are we slagging each other off? Lets all grow up (both on here and on .net) and stop slagging each other off for the sake of both forums. End of!!

Remember you will need different caliper bolts if it didn't come with them.

I had that issue a few years ago when the fans were found to be disconnected after a timing belt change. Glad you got it sorted

As per title, anyone know the above car? Black Bugeye STi reg SV02 XAC. Began life in the Aberdeen area going by the registration.

Welcome. Nice looking motor you got there.

Yup, there is something in the forum settings that changes all 'you have a p - m' type phrases to 'I touch goats'. Was to encourage people to not start a thread just to tell people they had a PM. I got Goodyears recently from Camskill. Good price.

Welcome. That is a nice looking motor. Sure you will enjoy it. Keep an eye on the events section. Plenty going on!

For info. Ae South and Ae West both use the hairpin at the picnic area, access beyond Ae village. Ae East is up the hill to the north east of Ae village and is quite a walk! Twiglees and Castle O'er are both accessible from the B723, Lockerbie to Eskdalemuir Road. Take a dust mask and there is a chance they may be running a 2 min intervals due the dust as they did a few years ago.

2011 regs favour smaller cars. Ford will be running a Fiesta and Citroen a C3. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a Yaris!

That is true of their regular auctions where they just sell all sorts of crap. Liquidation auctions sell just the stuff from the company that has gone bust and tend to be pretty decent. Remember that you have 15% auctioneers comission AND another 17.5% for VAT on top of the hammer price!! It is amazing the people who forget and stand arguing about it.
-
Ahh, Wilsons, I know it well! Got a load of furniture there when Artisan went bust and they did the liquidation auctions. The heavier stuff you can't just carry away tends to go for peanuts in these types of auction.

Is it yourself that has the silver wagon? You did my Gold STI7 alloys a couple of months back.

Same here with my Chameleon wheels. Looked great to begin with but after approx 5k miles they were starting to bubble and were completely wrecked after a few thousand more. Didn't use any nasty products on them and washed with just soap and water, then waxing them afterwards. Just had mine re-done by Auto Image on Great Western Road. Not sure if he does them in-house but the service was top notch. Done in a gold colour, and it is a little dull compared to Chameleon's version but the overall finish is very good. Only done a couple of thousand on them so only time will tell how they last.

Behave yourself Neil. You are not going to sell both and leave us are you? Sell one, afterall you can't drive both at once! Then get out and enjoy the motor, you will remember exactly why you bought one.
-
Glad you are sticking about on here. Enjoy not having to live in the petrol station, but I am sure you will be back in one some day.....

Not the only one. Once the diesel Leggy or Forester come down to much cheapness, I am planning getting one for my daily runner. Don't see the problem in a hybrid. Fair play to Subaru for trying something new.
-
I would just reiterate the advice above. Make sure the car has a full history. Don't necessarily go for the newest car you find, and be prepared to travel for the right one. Mine came from Rochdale! I work in Inverclyde, but commute in my daily runner, a Corolla.

This Is Were All Our Cars Are Going When They Are Stolen
jamesm replied to RACERX's topic in Scottish Scoobies
There has always been a sensible thread about car crime struggling to get out. Unfortunately, it has taken 2 and a half pages of nonsense, slagging and people being prats (myself included) to get there. It is still my view that posting these links onto an owners club forum is not appropriate and not the way to kick off a sensible and educated debate on car crime. I still take what I am seeing with a pinch of salt as whilst some of the videos do appear to be of car thieves/joyriders, others I am not so sure about - maybe boy racers / chavs being passed off as thieves in an effort to up the profile of any particular thief. It is also difficult to take seriously, posts from a member who has been previously banned and is now back posting under a new user name. It is worrying that car crime seems to be on the increase, particularly as keys are required for modern cars and that likely means trying to break and enter your house for the keys, or even turn up at the door demanding the keys. Wilky has hit the nail on the head re your personal home security and taking active steps to make it hard for them. If you are concerned that crimes have been committed or posted on the net or someone is casing your local area, send the details to the police. The attitude of ‘there is no point, the police won’t do anything’ is hardly helpful. Let the police decide if the info is useful and worth pursuing. You never know, it might just be the call or information they needed to bag the little blighters.
