  1. My WRX was 5 years or 50k.
  2. Very nice car you have there. I really like them in white. Wasn't expecting to see it parked at the door of my office though!
  3. Fantastic. Very well done.
  4. Got the same problem with siezed front calipers on my Bugeye right now. Trying to find a set of Brembos as a replacement. Failing that, I will just get a reconditioned set.
  5. Cracking looking car there!
  6. Looks like it was a cracking night on Friday. Had initially planned to head down, but couldn't make it in the end. The stand looked good. Well done everyone! On Saturday, saw all the cars though Edrom, Leitholm and Blackadder. Duns looked mobbed when I passed through after Blackadder so just headed on to Leitholm again. Sunday I did Bothwell, Ayton and back to Bothwell. Had a really good weekend. I felt there was a buzz and an atmosphere this year that had been missing for a number of years now. Everyone was talking about Duns on Friday night and seemed generally enthusiastic about the rally again. Marshal at Edrom said the numbers out in Duns were huge and took a lot of keeping in check, especially as most of them were plastered! Marshalling was pretty dead on this year. Most seemed to know what they were doing and quite relaxed whilst still keeping people in check, only on one stage where they being unreasonable prats. Will stick up a couple of pics once downloaded.
  7. From memory, I didn't get any change from £300 for my 6 year/60k service on a WRX. However, the main dealer wanted over £500 for the exact same work. I use Greersport.
  8. It is kind of hard to miss the fact this place is called Scottish Scoobies tbh. Even going in though the main SIDC page you have to click on the Scottish Scoobies section in Regional Areas. Even just coming in though a link in your favorites to this section "Scottish Scoobies" is written on the main Scottish forum page in black and white no less than 8 times. It is pretty impossible to miss. Even if you did miss this, then before purchasing a web domain, surely it would have been an idea to punch in Scottish Scoobies to Google to see who or what was using similar addresses. Can't see how anyone would plough ahead without doing this. It is incredibly shortsighted. I wish you every success in building your forum/club as clearly it is something you have a passion for. However to use a name/domain pretty much identical to this place will just lead to unnecessary confusion between the two. Surely your own forum/club would be much stronger with it's own unique identity?
  9. Absolutely fantastic motor there. I am soooooo jealous! Enjoy!!
  10. Believe it or not, I use Brasso. You get a fantastic shine!
  11. Had no plans to take mine off but some little b@$£&?* tried to rip it off when I was up in Newtonmore on Hogmanay. Had to remove it after that. Have acquired a spare courtesy of Grant though . Just not got it back on yet though as car been a bit neglected recently. Will get it back on once I get a weekend to spend sprucing it up for the spring.
  12. Welcome. Nice Wagon you got there. 'mon the Bugeyes!!
  13. Not aware of any Shell stations on the road to Dunoon after those just to the west of Glasgow. Hillington or Arkleston are just off the M8, or you could go into Erskine before heading over the bridge.
  14. Looking good. Must be pleased to have it back.
  15. Was there not a discussion at Santa Cruise that not a penny of this has been seen? I might be wrong?
  16. Meet at 7pm. First run of the year so I guess we will head off sharp at 7.30 to catch the daylight. Watch out in the Events Section for details.
  17. Gutted for you. Looks a stunning example too. Fingers crossed it might turn up, but unfortunatly unless there is a Tracker in it the reality is it is likely to be long gone. Seems to be a lot of this at the moment. Hope the insurance comes out ok and this doesn't put you off Imprezas.
  18. Looking good. Always first Thurs of each month. First evening run of the year next month too.
  19. Nice one and looking good! 95p a litre in Elderslie last night.
  20. 'mon the Bugeyes. Looking good there. Am liking the wheels. I am not sure about the S U B A R U spacing though. They are the standard lights on a Bugeye STI. They can be had from Ebay now and again but difficult to find. Expect to pay upwards from £300 second hand. Not a straight swap onto a WRX though. Wiring not compatible. Can be altered though.
  21. It is actually cheaper for local authorities to pay out compensation for damage to vehicles than it is too undertake comprehensive resurfacing. The difficulty you sometimes have is arguing against an authority who claim they regularly inspect the roads and don't know about the pothole that damaged your car as 'it wasn't there last week'. The roads on my commute are abysmal and I bombard Renfrewshire Council with complaints so that if/when I do damage the car on a crater, I can say I reported it to them. Some roads in Renfrewshire are best negotiated with a moonbuggy. Roads are normally fixed by battering tar into water filled holes with a shovel Even when they do resurface, it is done on the cheap and the surface is failing within 6 months in some cases. I work in Local Government and we are constantly subject to budget cuts. There is simply no money to repair defects and fill holes properly. Unless we get a huge amount of new funding from Happy Alex S and his Scottish Government, the roads will just get worse and worse.
  22. I was just thinking that myself when I saw your post. Worth being on your guard. Could have been worse. At least they didn't make away with it. Hope you get the damage sorted without too much fuss.
  23. Welcome mate. Very nice looking car there. We are a friendly bunch, enjoy your stay. I have resisted modding the car (apart from the exhaust) for almost 2 and a half years now so it can be done. I have been on here too long now though, my sensible side is fighting a losing battle...
  24. Cheers for the replies. A bit of WD40 and a knock with a hammer has sorted it out. Perhaps not the best stuff to put on your brakes, but getting them changed anyway.
  25. Drive is on a hill and can't get it reversed back up to the road to do that.
