  1. As Harry Hill would say - Who is the nicest big guy? There's only one way to find out - FIGHT!! I'll get my coat.
  2. What's that all about? Couldn't meet a nicer big guy!
  3. Looking good. We're you parked in someone's front garden? ;-)
  4. With the weather in Ayrshire this morning, change of vehicle for tomorrow anyone?
  5. At least you are not predicting snow.
  6. Met Office app my phone says sunny in the afternoon.
  7. Was thinking I would head over to get some pax laps in the morning for that reason.
  8. Cheers Phil So what you are saying is that I have not to be offended when I see you all taking 10 steps back?
  9. Might struggle in that part of the world! Try the Sorn Inn. Never stayed but food was very good last time I was there. About 10 miles west of Kames. Nothing else in Sorn though. http://www.sorninn.com/
  10. After much arguing with the shop , I have paid for the spare afternoon slot. First time taking the car on any sort of track. Cheers Phil. You going down on Sunday or would you need me to pick it up to borrow between now and Sunday?
  11. Work PC doesn't allow me into the shop so I'll stick my name at the bottom af the afternoon list and sort it out tonight if I can get the loan of a helment, if that is ok?
  12. Assuming your helmet is dry Phil, it is probably around the right size if you don't mind loaning it?
  13. Should have been organised and booked a place but definitely get a hat for next year and take the thing round.
  14. Hoping to pop down in the afternoon.
  15. Got Toyo Proxes on the front of mine at the moment and I find them to be a great tyre. I am wearing through them rather quickly though!
  16. You would be better off with the Goodyears IMHO.
  17. Had my Brembos for 4 years and it never occured to me to try the spare over them. Still got the standard rear calipers mind you so could swap the wheels about for the space saver was on the rear. Any breakers or Ebay for one I would think. Luck has got to change soon.
  18. Hammond put a kitchen in the bugeye on that 'challenge' on Top Gear. Mind you, that was a wagon so more space. Nice looking WR1 by the way.
  19. Welcome. Always loved the WR1.
  20. Welcome. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
  21. Having lusted after a Cossie in my early teens, a certain Mr McRae changed all that in 1995. From then, there was only one car I wanted. Passed my test in 1996 at 17 but didn't get my first car until I graduated in 2001 when I bought a nearly new 1.6 Astra SXI. 100k miles later the Astra reached the end of its useful life in 2006. By then, insurance was just affordable and I bought my 2002 Impreza WRX. 4 Years old at the time but with less than 15k on the clock. Had it ever since. Even early on, I discovered it was too thirsty for the daily commute and in 2007 I bought a 1996 Pug 106 Diesel with only 19k on the clock for £900 which took the commuting off the Impreza. Traded that for a 2004 Corolla 1.6 with just 11k on the clock 2009. Almost 7 year later the Impreza has only done 60k miles. I hope eventually to get a Subaru as my daily runner and I have no plans to get rid of the Impreza. Still regret not buying an STI so you never know. The WRX has always gone very well for a near standard car and I am never quite sure if it really is as standard as I think. Pic taken by Mr Hatrick on this years Fling.
  22. Best memory is from Kershope Forest on the 1995 RAC Rally. A buzz, atmosphere and sense of anticipation I have never again experienced at a rally. Clip below is from the 1992 Arctic Rally. A stage on a frozen lake. Mesmerising display of car control
  23. Given we are a 'Drivers Club' lets go and drive the things!!!
