lol. well my annual holiday is a week campaign near banbury and a festival which is budgeted imediatly after the one before. only this year i'll be doing it twice in august due to mcrae gathering.
-
I was desperate for the map date to arrive!! The 10 days between decat and map were most interesting though... got 340 miles out the tank before the warning light came on due to me driving like i was back in my old micra again. believe that means i actually managed just above the 30 mpg mark for what will be the one and only time ever in the car. Well.... its not going to take much twisting of my arm to get me up there anytime soon 17th August looks like a good date as I might not be in the country for the one on the 3rd.
-
at the time i did those early crail times nobody knew any better with that the car wasnt standard. just amazed that in all the times under the bonnet nobody noticed the vf-28 filling the hole where the td-04 should have been. not complaining mind you looking forward to the next trip up.
-
cheers guys. power wise its now got a vf-28 turbo. 2.5 inch decat exhaust. sti 5 intercooler with samco hoses. uprated nkg plugs. walbro fuel pump and as much of shells finest v-power as it needs. all makes for a very happy owner. have also got an sti8 sytle scoop to force more air into the intercooler, braided brake lines (which i can now state are definatly worth it!!) and some whiteline handling mods although may be forced to get some more... after all that money was set aside for the car would be a shame not to spend it on it.

Well thats me back in from getting the car mapped and I have the worlds biggest cheesy grin right now. The car now looks to be putting out about 310 bhp and 300 ft/lb torque now which is a nice we bit of power. Power comes in earlier and now it pulls all the way to the redline. Best surprise of the day though was the car already had an ecutek licence so I saved some money woho!! Thanks Andy for doing the electronic magic and thanks to all the mad lot in the OSIDC who are pretty much responsible for this happening. If I hadn't met you lot who knows... maybe I'd actually have some money in my accounts instead of me modifying the car.... scratch that i'll stick with the car. I really don't see me doing any more power upgrades any time soon as i would be delving into gearbox and internals territory however with the money saved i do feel some more whiteline goodies calling me.... Now going to go rest for a bit as I may have taken a slight (ok major) detour on the way home via the A708 (think september 2006 and June 2007 runs) just for the fun of it and im now shattered. Yes it did eat what was left of the v-power but I didn't care. Ian.

well mine is my daily driver. nearly 30 mile round trip each day and boy does it hurt the wallet. normally drive around faily sedate to save fuel but sometimes you just have to give it a bit of beans. if i could afford to run and insure a second car i would. however i know the costs and i still chose to run a scoob. as much as it hurts when the petrol, the miles and the servicing bills come in its worth it for the moment you hit fool boost in a clear country road and just feel fantasitc that the car under you is in fact yours and not just something you look at on a poster. lost count of what my car has cost in nearly two years. don't really care either. :D

sounds like a blast was had by all. really should try and get to one of these at some point. nice pics as well all.
-
i just sat and played the ds when i was there. to lazy to walk.
-
yeah normally x-large for me however after measuring i went for a large according to the sizes and it fits fine.
-
not at all mate. my car was in younger duncs capable hands at the time.
-
Got the car serviced, braided lines and a decat fitted. nothing fancy. top notch work was great just chatting with them about the cars in general and a good excuse for a day off work.
-
was there when you were on the phone to him. told me about your problems with other places. it all sounded good what he was telling you so hopefully the guys over there can get it set up for you.
-
thats one special car there mate. enjoy it but please look after it. (just what do you tell your insurance company thought when the car literally can't be replaced?)
-
No worries mate. Cheers for the pax laps after we got it back out on the road again. Might still be a good idea to remove the undertray completly to make sure you've removed all of KH from it.
-
Don't think the sti version will happen. the saloon models are all manufactured in the states (so build quality for the win) rather than in japan where I believe all STI's are built.
-
i never posted at the time beacuse i guess i really didn't know what to say and with time i really still don't. that day was so emotional and will live on in our memories but the memories of colin will live even longer. thanks for brining this back from the forum depths.
-
hope your having a good time mate. If v-power is cheeper make sure to being back plenty containers! see you when you get back.
-
don't you go giving him any ideas!!! the way he goes into the first corner at knockhill he would give a couple of the clubman class a fright thats for sure.
-
wheels look greatmate. the shake n bake is fine if you know its ment to be a bit of fun and this is. don't think the font suits the JW 340 but still think its good to put into the design. keep it up mate.
