well you coudl possibly add a section to where people purchase there membership to include the option to donate an extra £5 to the Santa cruise fund. Hi all, Bought a used STI 8 style bonnet scoop for my classic and I thought I had won a watch as it was already sprayed in Subaru Silver..... Well it is the problem being its painted light silver (code 406) and i need royal silver (code 792) and i was to stupid to realise that there even was two kinds of silver for classics. From a distance and in the shade it doesn't look to bad but in bright sun you can tell there different paints. Anyway now I know I would like to get it to match (strangely enough) so I'm looking for recommendations in the Kilmarnock area preferably as to where I could get this done? Am I better just buying the primer / paint / lacquer myself and doing it or am I likely to just mess it up?

Never having been on a dyno i'd be guessing but i'd say the following location date max power rpm max torque rpm and if possible a location to upload a print off of the dyno map would probably go down well. could maybe have a look here for some ideas Also would a section for quarter mile times be possible or should we continue the mega thread as we currently do for now?

Cheers for the pic fix st3ph3n, had to dash of to the football so I didn't have time to fix them when I realises the were messed up but that's another thread.... [] Its a direct replacement for the UK model. No problems with fitting. Even used one of the mount of the UK one as the bolt was sheered on the STI 5. Apparently its just a better piece of kit all round however even just the Samco hoses would make a big difference to a UK one as its got a crappy plastic y piece. Always mate. It never ends. And its not just power but all round improvements. The question is now what? lol

2 weeks ago at the OSIDC I managed to aquire an STI 5 top Mount Intercooler from Ally-B. However it was in a bad state... a really bad state. Here is the front and back as I recieved it. Like I said.... it was a mess. So I set to fixing this one up like I had done to my stock uk one only this time I did front and back. A close up for you of a section before and after (yes this is the same section of the same intercooler) With a lot of time, a needle and the patience of a god you can fix these things. However approx 14 hours worth of work over the next 12 days allows you get results like this. A vast improvment. Just for you photo buffs I tried a slightly arty shot. I think it turned out well for a camera phone. And here is the finished article installed in the car complete with the samco hose set. I think it looks great but i will not be doing another intercooler fix for a long time.

Was never much of a car man or even a rally fan. My first car was a 1.2 corsa and my second was a 1 litre micra. A year ago a friend at work bought a 04 STI type UK and just before he left there he gave me a shot. I fell in love. I imediatly started wondering if i could ever have a car like that. A week later and I was signing away the next 3 years of my wages at S&S and bought my MY00 classic. Was i rash? yes. would I have done that if I knew what i know now about the cars. hell no. However I still don't regret it. I'm hooked on them now and spend as much time as I can learning as much about them as possible. Hell maybe one day i'll know them as well as I know pc's.
